EXO Kai rover was already announced as one of the best songs of the year the song went viral like crazy had the whole industry dancing and people are still going crazy over it. My true unpopular opinion this year is that I really like Sunmi’s Stranger. Like, YES, it’s a LOT, but I grew to like it so much, and within the concept (I know, a good concept doesn’t guarantee a good song), I genuinely think it worked

My thoughts on the songs: - I actually liked SUNMI's "Mr.Stranger" much more than Everglow song (which is sad bc I was waiting for the comeback and the result is disappointing) Same goes for Jimin (even though I kinda like the song "Like crazy") and Stray Kids ("S-Class" is not my cup of tea at all) - I was expecting so much better song from YG cause girls are really talented and I like their voices, but I guess YG doesn't really care or smth....luckily this songs got the vibe for my mood sometimes so it's fine - AND big surprise for me was IVE song "Baddie", cause I was sceptical at first, but for me this song is actually good Same for Jisoo's "Flower" - I think the song sounds nice FINALLY uhhh Jessi's Gum was most addicted for me, it might be not that lyrically diversed BUT IT SLAPS (but I still like Zoom more)

I personally HATE 7Heaven by Purple Kiss because I love Purple Kiss' sound, their halloween-like concept, and the fact you can hear a song and instantly hear that it's them. 7Heaven sounds like any generic summer girl group song. Zombie is their most "safe" sounding song and even that has fun elements to it that clearly show off a theme. 7Heaven has nothing, no effects or anything to make it memorable past anything Oh My Girl has been putting out this entire decade, or any lesser known bright gg release, summer or not. It sounds like 4 other songs just straight top of my head
This was more of a tier ranking of the most polarizing kpop songs released this year. Either ppl hated them or loved them. Personally, I think more than half the songs weren't even bad. A mini ranking of my own using the same songs: - Smoking garbage: shalalala, girls, flower, batter up, s-class, stranger, hate rodrigo, batter up, macaroni cheese - Had no business being here (the perfect songs imo): Sugar rush ride, chasing that feeling, like crazy, spicy, rover, super shy, crazy form, teddy bear, queencard, perfect night - Surprisingly liked: sweet venom, gum, stamp on it, unforgiven I don't have a strong opinion for the rest, either they slipped my mind or they were just average sounding. But anyway, I enjoyed the video it was funny as always which I love!!
For me, S-class and Sugar Rush ride give me the same typa annoyance with the chorus (sugar ru-u-sh being repeated ruined what was otherwise an enjoyable listening experience, same thing with S-class and that one word that’s repeated). But otherwise this list is pretty much the same as mine

Yes, "Bona bona" is my least favorite title track by Treasure but it's not because it's bad. I personally HATE 7Heaven by Purple Kiss because I love Purple Kiss' sound, their halloween-like concept, and the fact you can hear a song and instantly hear that it's them. 7Heaven sounds like any generic summer girl group song. Zombie is their most "safe" sounding song and even that has fun elements to it that clearly show off a theme. 7Heaven has nothing, no effects or anything to make it memorable past anything Oh My Girl has been putting out this entire decade, or any lesser known bright gg release, summer or not. It sounds like 4 other songs just straight top of my head
This was more of a tier ranking of the most polarizing kpop songs released this year. Either ppl hated them or loved them. Personally, I think more than half the songs weren't even bad. A mini ranking of my own using the same songs:
- Smoking garbage: shalalala, girls, flower, batter up, s-class, stranger, hate rodrigo, batter up, macaroni cheese
- Had no business being here (the perfect songs imo): Sugar rush ride, chasing that feeling, like crazy, spicy, rover, super shy, crazy form, teddy bear, queencard, perfect night
- Surprisingly liked: sweet venom, gum, stamp on it, unforgiven
I don't have a strong opinion for the rest, either they slipped my mind or they were just average sounding. But anyway, I enjoyed the video it was funny as always which I love!!
For me, S-class and Sugar Rush ride give me the same typa annoyance with the chorus (sugar ru-u-sh being repeated ruined what was otherwise an enjoyable listening experience, same thing with S-class and that one word that’s repeated). But otherwise this list is pretty much the same as mine

- "Spicy" is so good what is that commenter snorting
- as someone who wept tears of profound joy at the Everglow concert I do have to say that, *on its merits as a song,* "Slay" was fine but a lil weak. however every bit of context surrounding it, from the performance to the fact that EG was back at all, certainly elevated it and I do agree it should be illegal to say it's bad

- I thought "Baddie" was the second best Ive release of the year after "Kitsch" please don't block me

Yes, "Bona bona" is my least favorite title track by Treasure but it's not because it's bad. It's because I'm used to Treasure only releasing total masterpieces and "Bona bona" is a bit lacking for Treasure's standards 😭
Also am I the only one who noticed "Batter up" did exactly the same thing as "Bona bona" ?
