Ok sir. Came across your channel with this recipe last night. Made my list of ingredients, ran to Walmart this AM…AND…..it’s in the oven. Oh man does it look good!!! I used cheddar, Colby Jack, pepper Jack, mozzarella, Parmesan. Next time, I’ll use more cheddar. I like how you “taught”. You spoke calmly, slowly right into the camera!!! Thanks for sharing your passion. Will look for more on your channel 🫶🏽👍🏽❤️.
I use: extra sharp cheddar, gruyere, parmesan, and sometimes a little mozzarella for fun stretchy cheese pulls (and so I can say it's 4 cheese). Team roux all the way. Never added a single egg to any baked mac'n'cheese. I don't usually add garlic because I'm afraid it'll overpower most of the cheese flavor, but after seeing a bunch of recipes that all include garlic, I might reconsider. I also usually use cayenne instead of paprika, but most people on here seem to use paprika, so I might reconsider that too. (And I use a LOT more white pepper than you do!) To be honest, I've never been a fan of adding a layer of shredded cheese as a topping, as it always comes out too oily for my taste. It's buttered panko + finely grated parmesan for me. I love the crunch.
Use a full 1/4 portion of mozzarella. It helps the consistency in every way. You are right to stay away from the garlic in this dish. But I'd rather have paprika than cayenne unless your intention is to make a spicy version. I also use bread crumbs for that crunch. I just lay out a nice layer of Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs on top and then sprinkle a little Parmesan on top of that. Just right!
Im gonna try it this way. Little skeptical about the condensed milk but im open to trying new things! Im team roux. Love my sharp cheddar, Gouda, mozzarella, Parmesan.
Looks great!!! Love your channel. I go real simple. I use Velveeta mac&cheese and add butter, 1/2&1/2, smoked gouda, smoked provolone, American, mozzarella, and the cheese sauce that comes with the Mac. Also I bake up some cut pieces of bacon and add to it. The Mac usually comes out real sticky and gooey. Then I take a little more 1/2&1/2 to make it creamy.
I’m team Mac and Cheese - no preference at ALL!! I can eat it with the egg, with the rue, stovetop, oven baked; you name it! I’m Mrs. Mac and Cheese Connoisseur!! But Mr. MIH, I have a question…why didn’t you put your knife on sale for all of the mothers in the world? Because without us, there’d be no you all!! That would have been dope! I love watching you make these decadent dishes. I also love the most that you always use quality, full fat (milk, cream butter, cheeses, etc.) There is no point in going through all the trouble of making something and using "lite" or poor quality ingredients!
I add eggs to keep that consistency when it sit afterwards and cooked in that oven. It maintains that creamy texture and not stiff, but if there is enough sauce and cheese- milk- It shouldn’t get too stiff. But I like what you did and it looks good! Mac and cheese is so good especially when it doesn’t dry out. You got it going on!
I only use extra sharp or sharp cheddar just yellow or sometimes mixed with the white and yellow block cheese, butter, can milk, no eggs and it be cheesy. I known about the rue cheese sauce just never tried it but have had some from others that do make it and yes it’s good. In a way am old fashioned and it never disappointed me yet. Macaroni and cheese look delicious. Enjoy thanks for sharing.
I have got to try making m & c with a roux/cheese sauce one day. I usually just put the semi-cooked pasta in an aluminum pan, add heavy cream, sour cream, jalapeño cream cheese, seasonings, cheese cubes and shredded cheese, (both from block), mix, then add more shredded on top, then hot hungarian paprika and bake (covered, then uncovered). I am willing to try something new. 🥘♥️
That looks so good, I should never watch your videos when I am hungry. I am team egg, but have been exposed to the cheese sauce mac and cheese and I must say it pretty darn tasty. I like to combine sharp cheddar and gruyere cheese in my mac and cheese.
I've been following you for a few weeks and decided to make Mac and cheese using this recipe. I've made it my way several times but I tell you your recipe is gonna be it from now on. The use of the rue without egg is sooo yummy 😋. And your method is less time consuming. Thanks 😊. Hubby is quite happy 😊. Lol 😆 🤣
Looks great. Very rich. Not for the lactose intolerant. I include some pepper Jack. Am very interested in trying the sweetened condensed milk. Yes for Thanksgiving!
When I’m making Mac and cheese… I like using pepper Jack along with some other cheeses. I learned from my mom and she always made Mac and cheese by making a rue..so that’s how I continue to make it.
I have recently just gotten into making the mac and cheese, and as a matter of fact my daughter told me that last batch I made was better then the Chick Fil-a's mac and cheese. So I took that as a compliment and a win! I loved the flavor the smoked gouda added to the dish. Now my only question is how do I prevent the excess oil that happens when you reheat it?
I love this mix of cheeses: Colby Jackson, mozzarella, sharp cheddar and Boursin cheese, the onion and herb flavor and I’m team roux, I make your recipe because I love it and my family does also.
Perfect, I'm a Mac and cheese nut and this has everything needed, I might even throw it on the smoker kicking up the heat! And I always laugh at the sounds, cooking or social media 😂😂
I just made it yesterday and followed the process. It was soooo good. Best Mac n cheese i have cooked. When did the sour cream get added? It’s on the shopping list and what’s the name of the first cheese. I bought the 5 on the shopping list.
I always use velveeta as a base but add others cheeses like cheddar, gouda, muenster, and colby jack. I sprinkle parm and cheddar on top before I put it in the oven.
Getting ready to practice this so I can have it down by Thanksgiving. Since I heard you speak on anti-caking agent, I bought an electric cheese grater. I have hand pain issues, so it helps a lot. I use parm often in cooking and also grate much cheese for soups and chili. No going back to grating by hand for me. This will be my 1st time making it with a cheese sauce so, fingers crossed 🤞🏽. 🥘💙
Gotta be roux. I use whatever cheeses I have on hand which lately has been mild and sharp cheddar, mozzarella, Parmesan and Colby Jack. I usually have some pre-shredded pizza or Mexican blends that I will throw in too. I love a good Gouda Mac though.
I usually use extra sharp cheddar, cream cheese, pepper jack, mozzarella, sour cream, and half & half. I used to put the mac in an aluminum pan, add shredded & cubed cheese, seasonings, and milk, top with shredded and bake. This will be my 1st time making it with a roux. Gonna give it a test run before Thanksgiving. 🥘💙
Love love love making homemade mac n cheese! I use whatever cheese I have, which is usually mozzarella, havarti, gouda, swiss, etc. I have never heard of using egg in this recipe, nor have I seen a recipe requiring it! So, I do the roux.... going to try this recipe next time.
With so many Mac& Cheese recipes out there..This has to be one of the best Sauces i've seen prepared! ..Now i like to dice some Onion& add it to the Sauce& then add the cheese.! And near the end,add a few slices of Tom& and some Fresh green Onion & then bake that for a min or 2! ( not trad, but my thing, but it works) .Well cooked..Bon appetite👍

I made this last year very good but was wondering should I have used half and half or milk
Smoked Gouda, Muenster and some sharp but I use the same seasonings but also add 2 teaspoons of mustard. Paprika and mustard brings it to life 🤤
Standard mustard or the sharper mustard?
@FrontSide_Krimzz Moms always used standard. French's to be exact. Just 2 teaspoons for standard 13x9 if making a smaller pan reduce it.
Nicee, thanks! 👌🏾
@@Kingofkings29 You are actually supposed to use mustard *powder.*
Yep, looks fantastic and I’m thrilled there’s no egg in this! 👏🏽😊
I must be 7 years old at heart because I was ready to eat as soon as you mixed the cheese and noodles 🥹🤣 this looks so good
When I’m making Mac and cheese… I like using pepper Jack along with some other cheeses.
I'm team Mac & cheese with a roux base. I'll definitely try all five of the cheese you recommend in the recipe.
I thank God for you and your channel. My family loved this recipe. It was absolutely amazing. One guest had four bowels. ❤
This looks so good and my fav cheese combo is gouda, sharp and muenster. I use cream cheese as my secret ingredient.
I love this mix of cheeses: Colby Jackson, mozzarella, sharp cheddar and Boursin cheese, the onion and herb flavor and I’m team roux, I make your recipe because I love it and my family does also.
I tried this recipe tonight and it was a hit!
Definitely Bussin!!!🎉🎉🎉
Perfect, I'm a Mac and cheese nut and this has everything needed, I might even throw it on the smoker kicking up the heat!
And I always laugh at the sounds, cooking or social media 😂😂
Absolutely the BEST I've tested. Thanks for sharing.
Team egg, but this looks AMAZING!!! I love to include Havarti cheese in my recipe. 😋
Omg! I was just going to say havarti cheese is the best in it. I do the same. One of my fave cheeses beside gouda and colby jack
Making this recipe for thanksgiving ❤ Thank you for sharing!!!
I just made it yesterday and followed the process. It was soooo good. Best Mac n cheese i have cooked. When did the sour cream get added? It’s on the shopping list and what’s the name of the first cheese. I bought the 5 on the shopping list.
When you said Gouda, I said what you talking about?? Gouda is the Bees knees !!!! I use to use eggs but I will try this cause it looks Yummilish!!!
Chipotle gouda,smoke gouda,extra sharp cheddar,queso de papa,Colby jack,Monterey jack,pepper jack and pimento cheese
My fav is baked but im just team mac all the way,Im def trying this one out and am interested in the condescended milk flavor!
Rue, smoked gouda, sharp cheddar, smoked provolone, harvati
Gotta be roux. I use whatever cheeses I have on hand which lately has been mild and sharp cheddar, mozzarella, Parmesan and Colby Jack. I usually have some pre-shredded pizza or Mexican blends that I will throw in too. I love a good Gouda Mac though.
OMG it looks sooooo good. Mouth is watering. Love your reactions after the taste test! LOL 😂
I use redskin gouda, black diamond private reserved cheese. I am going to try it with the additional cheeses, I prefer a rue
I have cooked several of your recipes so I’m not going to question the sweet milk
I love this guy with his swagalicious self 😂❤❤
With so many Mac& Cheese recipes out there..This has to be one of the best Sauces i've seen prepared!
..Now i like to dice some Onion& add it to the Sauce& then add the cheese.! And near the end,add a few slices of Tom& and some Fresh green Onion & then bake that for a min or 2! ( not trad, but my thing, but it works) .Well cooked..Bon appetite👍
I use the same mix as you except I also use white Aged Vermont , it’s so yummy!
