I'm glad they changed, tbh. Yes, this era was great, but their later music- Even Encyclopedia- has a The Drums edge, but it's own merits. Hell, even Pierce's earliest officially released work with Elkland had merit of it's own.
Jonny: "I've seen the world And there's no heaven and there's no hell" Somehow, this makes me remind about "Imagine" by John Lennon. John Lennon: "Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky" And they are both Jo(h)n :)
Oh let it begin Let it begin Let it begin Oh darling, you are the son of an evil man I know you hate yourself, but you're nothing like him And it's over now you can pick yourself off the ground 'Cause you're cool now and you're nothing like him I've seen the world And there's no heaven and there's no hell I've seen the world And there's no heaven and there's no hell And I believe That when we die, we die So let me love you tonight Let me love you tonight Oh let it begin Let it begin Let it begin oh you are a pretty thing But you're full of fear, well not here No never here, you can love them, you can hate them You never wronged them so you don't owe them I've seen the world And there's no heaven and there's no hell…
@BigMcLargehuge Very much, wholeheartedly agree about The Drums being great live. Very much disagree about Grizzly Bear sucking live. Seen 'em twice and both times were wonderful.
this is the best perfomance of book of revelation ever
Couldn't agree anymore 🤝
this might be my favourite song ever. at least this live version. soooo good.

I listen to this almost daily and honestly it really upsets me the band didn’t keep this sound and aesthetic
Luke Oliviero Im saying, that was their best era tbh
Some members has left the band, thats why

Boring things never change,
and the most interesting things are always changing.

I heard this song on sleeping dogs and I fell in love with it.
KERANG RADIO
The Drums will always be my favorite band. I never saw them live but I've seen videos and they have me convinced.
I love them live but production is what makes them even better.

Oh let it begin
Let it begin
Let it begin
Oh darling, you are the son of an evil man
I know you hate yourself, but you're nothing like him
And it's over now you can pick yourself off the ground
'Cause you're cool now and you're nothing like him
I've seen the world
And there's no heaven and there's no hell
I've seen the world
And there's no heaven and there's no hell
And I believe
That when we die, we die
So let me love you tonight
Let me love you tonight
Oh let it begin
Let it begin
Let it begin
oh you are a pretty thing
But you're full of fear, well not here
No never here, you can love them, you can hate them
You never wronged them so you don't owe them
I've seen the world
And there's no heaven and there's no hell…

Nada de autotune nada de esas mirrdas todo original en vivo sintetizado👽

mix between Bono and Morrissey
I'm sorry
the bass and guitar sound way off
they’re tuned down in this performance that’s why
