    When I was hospitalized for a few days at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, I was delighted they had vegetarian and vegan menu options for patients as well as in the cafeterias. They had the junk food too, but at least patients and visitors could choose to eat more healthily.

    At the Kaiser facility I go to for treatment, the vending machine has “healthier” options - baked chips, nuts, granola bars, sugar free drinks etc. it would be great if they refined it a bit more but at least they are thinking about healthier options. They have an amazing salad bar and even offer tofu.

    The unfortunate thing is that the “system” hides behind Standard of Care. Glad to see this Dr is way outside the box. No different here in Canada 🇨🇦

      The difference here is that medical care is for profit here. More & more hospitals are going bankrupt. Now we are paying for it. My co-,pay to see my chiropractor or specialistwent from $20 to $35. My monthly Medicare payment for fed medical coverage went up $10, to $185, deducted from my disability check.

    I was wondering about calorie intake? I have read that having a very low calorie intake for too long can lower the body’s immune system. Maybe worth increasing calories?

    My Dad's hospital in the UK in Oxford has white roll bacon sandwiches with butter in the cafe opposite the heart ward 😮
    So he's getting a pacemaker and a new heart valve and on his "heart healthy" menu was pork and fried cubed potatoes 😢 apart from the obvious he couldn't eat it. I was bringing in healthy options. The vegetarian and vegan options weren't much better. Spicy food. Hospitals don't focus on food or sleep quality.

    The vending machine in the nursing home I work at says eat healthy and there is nothing healthy in it. They have soda, energy drinks, chips, candy bars, those breakfast granola bars, and donuts, zingers etc. The only thing that is remotely healthy is the popcorn on popcorn days but even that isnt healthy because of the oil and butter that is put on it automatically.

  • @ejohnson107

    Michelle Obama changed that in the school system where the vending machines only have healthy snacks..

    I got a stomachache from listening to some of these doctors. She’s explaining yes radiation does cause cancer but then she saying her radiation that she does specifically on the breast cancer patients is only like a half a percent chance to get additional cancer.. and then she says that’s a good odds or chance to be able to detect cancer in your body. Why in the world does she not recommend Thermography which shows 8 to 10 years before mammography would show the cancer!!!
    Again! I believe these doctors are absolutely lied to or just totally uneducated with the truth !!

    • @gaylendelcambre7719
      @gaylendelcambre7719 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Thermography cannot substitute for mammography for early diagnosis. I won’t go into why that is so because I don’t think it would make a difference.

    • @kellybean5794

      I agree. My friend Lisa caught her breast cancer very early. Mammograms every year. She still passed away

    • @susanlombardo8444
      @susanlombardo8444 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      THERMOGRAPHY shows changes 8 to 10
      years BEFORE it would ever show anything on a Mammogram!!! You want to know BEFORE it becomes a tumor, when changes are happening, “BEFORE” it turns to CANCER!!!
      THAT IS CALLED PREVENTATIVE CARE!!!!

    • @QuixoticBlackCat
      @QuixoticBlackCat 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Also note that mammograms don't work in dense breasted women or in women with denser regions and are not adequate screening for more than 50% of women. Also they are exposure to ionizing radiaiton a known carccingen. One or two of them might not be that much, but overtime this is no good. It overall is doing more harm than good. Look up Dr. Jenn's videes on mammogram alternatives. QT imaging, DW-MRI (contrast and radiaiton. free) and 3D US are more optimized for those of us who care about our health and want to optimize to "don't die" from death cult based acceptible toxins...

      Please note: the response on the question of "is there an OS benefit with RT (radiotherapy)" was not answered well at all. Recent studies show there is no OS (overall survival) benefit in adding RT for early breast cancer (eBC) in many cases and some other cancers as well. Be sure you do more research here, don't just trust that whatever was said by this so-called rad pro was the end of the story. The only benefit eBC patients will get is local and not overall or systemic. The local benefit is typically small. Each person should calculate their ARR (absolute risk reduction) number and understand their % of local recurrence reduction rates. Rad oncologists should be able to provide these numbers and/or provide ways for patients to learn these numbers including using the Predict Tool v.3 online and other cancer calculators. They teach you this and provide education and links to the studies showing this and the calculators you need to do the math in your case. ALWAYS DO THE MATH. TEST DONT GUESS. Many people will only get a 3-5% benefit from RT, whichc is entirely too low. BC patients want an over 25-50% benfit for any therapy like RT that will leave life long risks of secondary cancer massively increased. Additionally exposure to wildfire smoke increase the risk of a secondary exponentially for those who have had RT. Additionally there are small prelinical studies discussing the problem of radiotherapy induced metastatic disease. This should be discussed with patients. Informed consent matters imo. And patients are not getting this. This rad onco in the video failed to answer this in a meaningful way and should kick herself for it imo, b/c this harms patients.
