The best I could come up with was that you could check out the steelguitarforum, there are guys in there who really know their stuff in terms of these instruments, and some builders on there also. It is a valuable resource to join up with the forum, if you so desired, and search for building of pedal steel guitars. I really hope you can build one, and am sorry that I'm not able to offer much help in terms of finding the plans etc. I hope that you might be able to find the information you need from the steelguitar forum.
