La même intonation de voix qu'Elvis c'est surprenant, même s'ils sont cousins, du côté du père d'Elvis. Une joie de l'écouter, comme Elvis - Elvis nous manque énormément.
I recall playing this to a fanatic Elvis friend of mine who was completely taken in by Jimmy's King like voice. I reckon 9 out of 10 people would take this for the voice of the Tupelo, Mississippi Flash. Incidentally, I heard Jim say on a couple of occasions that his favourite singer was Marty Robbins! Anyway, this is a Dwight Yoakham cover that is on a level with the original. Fantastic.
@creole968 You are right, he never tried to be an Elvis imitator. His voice was truely his own and it was a darn good one! If I had ever had to make a choice of seeing him or Elvis I would have chosen Jimmy no 2 ways about it! He was #1!
@creole968 He was the best! Too bad the music industry didn't give him the recognition that he deserved! There is a fan page for him on facebook if u would like to join! He died not getting the stardom he so deserved!
it has never been proven that Jimmy was any kin to Elvis but the theory was that Jimmy was Elvis's half brother & that Vernon was his father with another woman other than Elvis's mother whose name was also Gladys.....Jimmy was given up for adoption when he was very young. he was adopted by the Ellis's from Alabama at age 4
