    Lyrics
The only time I feel the pain
Is in the sunshine or the rain
And I don't feel no hurt at all
Unless you count when teardrops fall
I tell the truth 'cept when I lie
It only hurts me when I cry
You couldn't tell it by the smile
    That my recovery took awhile
I worked for days and nights on end
Just to walk and talk again
You can't believe the time it takes
To heal a heart once it breaks
The only time I feel the pain
Is in the sunshine or the rain
And I don't feel no hurt at all
Unless you count my teardrops fall
I tell the truth 'cept when I lie
It only hurts me when I cry
Oh maybe every now and then
I have a small heartache again
You wouldn't know when you look at me
There's tiny scars that you can't see
It was a struggle to survive
    I'm probably lucky I'm alive
The only time I feel the pain
Is in the sunshine or the rain
And I don't feel no hurt at all
Unless you count when teardrops fall
I tell the truth 'cept when I lie
And it only hurts me when I cry
I tell the truth 'cept when I lie
And it only hurts me when I cry

One of the most talented entertainers out there today! Country music is in a rapid decline, I hope it takes an upswing soon. Dwight has a great mix of country, folk, r&b, tex, and a unique voice that sets him far apart from anybody out there today. You cant really put a label on him, yet the influence of rockabilly, Buck Owens, Elvis, and even Roy Orbison can be heard Dwight is a fantastic entertainer.

I love Country Music since I was 20 (now I am 64). Dwight is one of the very very best ever. I would like to thank Dwight for this and so many other great songs. So wonderful to listen! This was Country Music!! (The Country Music of today is not mine. Too less heart - too much Rock and Roll)

One of his best Songs, love it, his voice, the instrumental Arrangement.Specially the piano licks and the beautiful fiddle solo in the middle of the song. But the Video itself is really a master Piece.

One of the comments on here said he's the sexiest man alive. When he curls his top lip up like Elvis, I feel weak in the knees, so he might just be! With those mile-long legs, definitely right up there, at least I can't think of anyone sexier. I just saw him live at the Shenandoah Co Fairgrounds two weeks ago, September 1, and what a VOICE!! Every bit as beautiful as in the studio! He did sing a lot of my favorites, including this one. Alas, we weren't close enough to the stage to see if he did his infamous 'Elvis' lip-curl, but I like to believe that he did. Love you, Dwight! Half the credit for this song must go to Roger Miller, though, who co-wrote it with Dwight. Everyone have a good night, and dream of Dwight, singing by moonlight! You see? *I* am a poet and *you* did not know it! : )
