Great respect to Mr Mohan. I had learnt this instrument in late seventies from Guru Late K V Murthy at Shimogga in Karnataka, but seeing video of making it gives me a great feeling. My sincere respect to Mr Mohan Lal. I really enjoyed to video and the final demo from him.
Hand-made is the only thing that does the art justice. Great respect for this man keeping a somewhat fading tradition alive. I play Norwegian style myself, but love the sound of Rajasthan morchang!

I bought one of mohan Lai Morchangs. they have excellent sound. it seems i don't have to worry much. because everything is very sturdy. the morchang has a hard reed. the frame is like solid rock. but even a light touch will produce sound. rich in harmonics. also the reed will not bend with time or break easily. highly recommended.
