What they ended up doing defied the very purpose of the match's stipulations, which made their booking mistake even more apparent to everyone watching.

They just be booking shit & not thinking of how it could effect anything or how the story continues without them booking something that doesn’t make any sense. Not as bad as WCW in late 90’s until they collapsed. Cause that booking was terrible. Very rarely did anything make much sense. Their “work-Shoots” were all over the place too & little to no sense most of the time. Russo in WWF was known for giving everyone a story & then in WCW tried to do that & just ended up booking shit that made no sense just to give everyone something to do lol
Being a 16 time world champ, means you have to lose the title 15 times. That record never seemed impressive to me for that reason. I remember Carlito saying that in a promo when feuding with Flair & it changed my mind completely. The longest reign records are much more impressive to me now. Losing the title 15 times is not impressive at all, it’s kinda embarrassing cause it means the company didn’t think the title reign was working out at the time & thought it was better for you to drop the title. Anytime I hear so and so is a “7-12” time anything champion I laugh cause they don’t realize they lost the belt that many times too. I’m surprised Vince hasn’t made it a rule to not say somebody is a however many time champion. If somebody tells him to look at it from this perspective, he’d probably make the announcers never say it again.
How have they booked themselves into a corner with Charlotte? I do not even like her, but fully understand why they have done it with her challenging for the NXT title. Firstly, it gets more eyes on the product, something WWE wants to do to get NXT ahead of AEW in the ratings. And as for the other women on the roster. If it was not for Flair being in the match, the NXT title would not even be on the WrestleMania card, so how are any of them losing out? They will only gain from this. If Ripley beats Flair, it puts her over as a topline badass, and now anyone on NXT who challenges & beats her will get a better rub. If Flair wins, then once again, whoever challenges her and beats her gets a better rub. Really is not that hard to understand. As much as I hated Flair winning the Rumble, the decision to have her challenge Ripley is the right one. I mean, nobody needs to see the same old faces of Flair, Lynch, Bayley & Banks in yet another feud, so it is actually nice to see Charlotte taken out of this loop.
