Lots of information missing. What led did you use? A typical LED needs Maximum 3volts. You provided it with 9v battery so therefore the LEDs should have died spontaneously. Neither you used any resistor. Also, how the leds were changing color? I believe the RGB leds have 4 pins. Can you clear the confusion?
