    Hi Hickok45, I recently bought the IWI Masada and shot 100 rounds and it does not shoot low. I read the manual and spoke with IWI and they confirmed the Masada uses SIG sights front 8 and rear 8. Per the manual gun is zeroed for 25 meters and the sights are combat style with 3 dots, where the point of impact occurs when you align all 3 dots ( not the top of the front sight). You can swap out the front sight for a SIG 6 if you prefer to change the point of impact to the top front. Great pistol especially if you are a "south paw" like myself. I enjoy all your videos!

      He did review Jericho as well in past. I've got IWI Jericho, Canik TP9SF, Glock G45, Beretta PX4 Storm and I also have this IWI Masada coming in soon and all of them are in 9mm. Not sure how this Masada will turn up since I don't have it in hand yet. Nonetheless, out of all my 9mm handguns that I currently have in possession I pick my Canik TP9SF as my most favorite and enjoyable to shoot gun. He mentions Masada being cheap while it's still around $400 territory, which I partially agree that it's not a super expensive gun. However, I bought my Canik for $260 meanwhile it's my cheapest handgun I ever purchased and it's by far my most favorite gun. I think people overhype sometimes some firearms. While IWI products have always been very reliable and pleasant to use, I still think there are sometimes better options for possibly even cheaper price.

    • @astrofrk
      @astrofrk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SOBIsHobbies He reviewed the Baby Desert Eagle but the Jericho 941 in Polymer has many differences, especially in the grip. In comparisons, the steel version has slightly less recoil due to its weight but the polymer version has a more comfortable and smaller grip. Of course, which is better is up to the individual but the polymer version is $100 cheaper. Still, it doesn't beat the price of your Canik. Glocks are great guns and I carry a Glock 19, accessories are almost limitless.

    • @SOBIsHobbies
      @SOBIsHobbies 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@astrofrk the Jericho that I got is full steel body. And you're right recoil on that thing is almost unnoticeable. Never shot from the polymer one though. Glocks are definitely nice handguns. Like I mentioned earlier I do have one myself G45 gen5. Nonetheless, I never can justify the prices of Glock pistols. Don't get me wrong, they're very nice pistols, but wayyy overpriced, overrated and overhyped handguns in my personal opinion. I paid $400 for Masada brand new, TP9SF cost me $260, Baby Eagle cost around $500, PX4 Storm was around $420, M&P Shield was $380 and they're all great guns that can easily compete and even beat Glock guns in most scenarios. By far my Glock is the most expensive handgun that I purchased. And I purchased it just to see what is it like having a Glock pistol and what's all that commotion about Glocks. I love my Glock and it's one of my first handguns, but if I were to redo it again I probably wouldn't get it or at least pay what I paid for it. Perhaps, I never can understand what's all the fuss about Glocks.

      It doesn’t shoot low the sights are combat sights and how the Israelis train for two eye shooting and sight on target shooting. If it bothers you that much, you can switch it out for Sig #8 sight and it’s more traditional. Glock 19X are sighted the same way.

    @hickock45 This is what I refer to as a European sight picture. A lot of European guns (particularly from eastern Europe) have sights where you have to cover the target with the front sight and look down the groove, whereas with a Western sight picture you're supposed to align the sight with the groove and sight from the top. It's not wrong, it's just different. Once you adapt to it, it's fine. I have seen this with the Tokarev, Makarov, P-64, and a number of others. Many such European guns will seem to shoot low by our standards until you realize you have to treat the sights on them differently.

      I own this gun and Israelis have sighted at 25 meters with 124 grain bullet. Use combat where you put front sight on the target. If shoot it with same way as a Glock hit low. Can mount sig sights on it. I mounted a Vortex Venom red dot last year and last week installed tactical sights that coexist with the red dot.

    Many don't realize that IWI makes their weapons for the Israeli Defense Forces, police, border and security forces. These weapons have to be rugged and accurate. Israel is surrounded by enemies who want to wipe them out of existence. I have NEVER had a bad IWI weapon. They have all been well made, great finishes, and have been extremely reliable. Yes, there are plenty of polymer pistols out there, but IWI makes theirs for combat.

    I just recently bought a Masada and found that it does shoot a little low (2” more or less) but I found that if you aim the way that Israelis are taught to aim you are pretty much on center. Now I don’t have the experience which most of your viewers have but I don’t have the problem in aiming which many people complain about. I have found that the Masada is extremely accurate with a recoil similar to the Bersa 380.

    I fell in love with mine, I compared glock and other sight ready with the IWI and I went home with the IWI. Price must have went up I paid $525 new Glock was almost $700 Put a dot on it and got it dialed in and it’s my favorite pistol. I still EDC my M&P because of the size, but I could Conceal carry the Masada in my front bib pocket. No safety so I don’t keep on in the chamber.

      Sounds like you got your head busted by the lgs. It happens to the best of us, but don't be a sucker next time. I appreciate those who can afford to support local biz, but when we're talking nearly double the price ($700 for a gun that can easily be found for $400), they're being greedy so I'll return the favor and order online. Good pickup though.

    This is a great review. I have this pistol and it is extremely reliable. The great option is that you can use the delta point Luepold, holsulm, Trijicon RMR and RMO. Mepolite makes a night sight specifically for this system. The trigger is really nice. Better than the Major of stock triggers. The he feel of the weapon is outstanding in the hand with 3 back step options.

    H45. From another shooter's review: 'The Masada is a great shooting pistol with a even better price tag. I also found out the sights on the Masada are sighted in for a 25 meter zero, so you need to aim with the 3 dots in the center of the bullseye.'
    This likely explains the pistol shooting low consistently.

    Speaking of Balistol, I bought some and gave it a try as a result of Hickock 45's recommendation. It cleans, lubes and protects as well as CLR, which I had been using. It's solvent power is a bit better than CLR. As good as Hoppes. Lubes as good as Rem Oil and is as persistent. Any downside? I had two pieces of skateboard tape on the rear of my Glock 19 slide to assist my 66 year old fingers in slide manipulation. They held just fine for one solid year of daily use and biweekly cleaning with CLR. One cleaning with Balistol and the glue weakened due to the vigorous solvent action of the Balistol. Tape fell right off even though I put no Balitol on the outside of the slide. It migrated by itself and melted the glue on the skateboard tape. Which I had softened with a heatgun when I applied it. Boy was it on there solid. Any one else notice anything like that?

I made those adjustments and I'm getting fantastic groups now. Also the trigger got really nice after 500 rounds or so. The only malfunctions that I've had with it are with Blazer Aluminum case ammo. It really doesn't like that stuff but it eats through everything else like butter
