He'd absolutely have my vote. Even though he was born in Puerto Rico, according to Wikipedia, that still qualifies as a natural born United States citizen. Which is required for anyone who is going to become president. However, I feel that the call to public service has to come from within, and if Joaquin Phoenix doesn't have or doesn't yet have that drive, I personally would rather he did whatever he prefers to do. If indeed he ran for president, he would have my full support. Movies like Earthlings (narrated by him), I feel in my bones qualify as a quite significant public service. So, even if he never does more than act and be outraged and outspoken publicly in his views against our fellow Earthlings, I feel that is more than adequate. After seeing a video on baby pigs being abused in a factory farm I could no longer eat meat and have been on a healthy raw / cooked vegan diet of vegetables, legumes, ancient grains, nuts, fruits. That video was 3 months ago and I have never felt better. Best decision I've ever made for my health. Now I want to do more to help the animals. As human beings I believe it's our duty to care for the animals on this planet.

My jaw dropped with delight when I saw that he wore an ALF sweatshirt to the opening weekend screenings of Joker!!! That is amazing. The vegan message will be clearly visible in all of the photos people took with him! I can only aspire to be an activist as awesome as he is. After seeing a video on baby pigs being abused in a factory farm I could no longer eat meat and have been on a healthy raw / cooked vegan diet of vegetables, legumes, ancient grains, nuts, fruits. That video was 3 months ago and I have never felt better. Best decision I've ever made for my health. Now I want to do more to help the animals. As human beings I believe it's our duty to care for the animals on this planet.

People will only die from veganism if they don't do it properly or look after themselves, besides almost no one has died from veganism, more people have died from eating processed or contaminated meat, which defeats your point. I've known some people who have been veg for over 63 years and they're healthier than most people because they did research and looked after themselves. Pretty sure these parents you're talking about are stupid and only fed their kids grass or something- kids need protein and breast milk- which they CAN get from plants.though i think should be the kids choice whether to be vegan or not. Dogs definitely needs meat. You simply cannot force your dog to become vegan it is animal abuse as well.
What most people don't understand here is food chain. Dogs are carnivorous & they simply cannot be herbivores. They will meet their energy requirements by eating herbivores not plants directly. Just because they are tamed & trust you , you will force them to quit meat. It is wrong

My jaw dropped with delight when I saw that he wore an ALF sweatshirt to the opening weekend screenings of Joker!!! That is amazing. The vegan message will be clearly visible in all of the photos people took with him! I can only aspire to be an activist as awesome as he is. I don't like to worship "vegan celebrities" or idolize any specific activists too much, but it's hard not to when some of them are just so incredible.
Also everyone should check out his movie "Don't Worry He Won't Get Far on Foot" as it's extremely underrated and I never see anyone talking about it!!!

The stuff they go through is painful and heartbreaking to see but they have to go through it and it doesn't go away. But together we can make a difference even those that one less meat meal a day make a difference. I'm 100% vegan and I'm just simply trying to make a kinder world even just meatless Mondays.
