The South has been producing this stuff for years. Manny Fresh, DJ Paul and many producers from the early No Limit Records have been making music like this in the south since the 90's. Only difference, they were regional/local music until songs like "Tear The Da Club Up" and "Back That Azz Up" became mainstream hit singles in the late 90's. They were mostly ignored before this due to G-Funk/Gangsta Rap and Northeastern Boom Bap dominating the scene.
