Never heard it referred to as "black sooty citrus mold" before. Black sooty mold appears on many fruit trees due to the causes explained in this video. One indicator of sooty mold or the danger of its onset is ants crawling on your trees. Ants "farm" aphids to consume the honeydew that they excrete and will defend them from predator insects like ladybugs.
You should look at asprin as a plant protector, mainly for mildew. It has also been shown to produce more harvest. As always epsom salts for citrus is highly important
Mine is sooty mold but I'm wondering if something else is affecting her because she's loosing her bark and limbs are naked🫣🥺 she produced fruit but she's struggling...any suggestions of what could cause the bark loss and decline
Dude… you gloss over the most important ingredient with no effort and you leave us completely confused. You need to redo this part of the video. You need to describe in detail what product is dishwashing detergent that’s not done and you give some obscure name and show a bar of soap.

Thanks for saying so, I forgot to mention about the ants

Thanks for the aspirin tip
@@EatAndBeEatenHAWAII How much aspirin? 80 mg in one quart water or what?
Do you have a different treatment for this?

Could be a soil disease or insect like bark beetles. Also worth checking into citrus cankers
Thanks eabeH. I sprayed just now on my naartjie, lime and lemon.
Awesome!
Hi there can you use neem oil too
Not sure about neem ...
Can you spray your tree once the fruit has started growing?
Yes
How do you know it is dead . Do you spray it after it is dead to remove it
Try rubbing the soot off with your fingers. If the leaf is brown or black underneath then it is dead. At that point just prune the leaf off.
Why oil and not water?
Helps stick to leaf better

Any dishwashing detergent will do
Dr bronners soap Castille soap
I agree the dish soap was passed over lightly and it is very important. Why not use Dawn?
@@jeannesmith824 Dawn would work fine. Any dish soap at all, itʻs just about cutting through the mold.
