That's what the "check off" is supposed to be for. Seems to be one of the biggest legal scams ever known. Every load of beans the checkoff receives approximately $45 from the farmer. I would gladly trade the checkoff in on China buying. To those that think the $45 is voluntary it is not. Deducted from your check by the elevator.
I'm not disagreeing with your premise but why continue to play in that market. Time to get off the sinking ship. Diversify into other options you have more control over. Many fight change and those people will lose it all
as long as farmers DONT stick together NOTHING will ever change. we control ALLL the food BUT like all my neighbors the government has them right were they want them. they ARE so deep in debt they HAVE to plant and hope for a good year
Would it be benificial if the farmers that accept the payments to also have to setaside a percent of corn and bean acers in 2025 to have less planted acers and hopefully better prices next year
Not everyone had record yields like most in the corn belt did. Every farmer i have talked to in north and south Carolina had a minimum of 60% below average corn yields, and highly variable bean yields. Some had 10% over aph on beans, some had 50% under. The only consistently good crop many had this year was their cotton crop if they grew any. Even the wheat harvested in june and july was not good either, as many people had all of it end up as feed wheat and get heavily discounted, as in most people got 3.25-3.60 at the elevator. Another ERP sort of deal would help those out who did not have the record yields, i know the Carolinas are not alone in having a hard year. I grow tired of seeing so much money flood out of this country to others, while I saw the indifference to what happened in areas hit by Helene. Please remember the 60 minutes special early this year shedding light on the fact that the US government is directly funding a lot of farmers fuel, seed, and fertilizer in Ukraine
Well, maybe it is time to start looking at why we are subsidizing the growing of over produced crops on marginal land? Should we subsidize a guy in N Dakota trying to grow corn and beans on soil that only produces 60/acre corn?
Hey last time there were big market loss payments the commercials came in and widened the basis by so much that farmers got around 50% of the intended payments!!!!!!
When is the last time farmers planted 95 mil acres that wasn't profitable. Sure you lose less on corn but it's not profitable. No way we plant 95 mil acres.
Farming in the USA can't make its own profit. Oh. Big farmers get subsidized with money from government so theyy can give big donations to political campaigns.
The fraud from paper farmers will destroy the public trust in farmers who really do love farming and the land.
Already happening in my area. Non farmers are getting real tired of seeing bail out after bail out
I farm 2000 acres of corn and beans. No handouts please. Increase demand for our grain instead, ie exports

Dude over half the corn grown in the United States goes into ethanol production which is a government mandate/hand out.
that is something that is not happening, decrease is more likely
❤❤❤
trump will take care of farming
exports just like Last time.
China stopped buying grain again. Dumb ass !!!
💯👍😠😠😠😠😠 trump sucks
The farmers share of a loaf of bread is 5 cents
The farmer pays retail for all inputs but sells the crop wholesale and pays the freight both ways. Not a promising idea.
Not only wholesale, but at a price the buyer offers, not what is required for a profit.

SOCIALISM !
This is the result of tariffs in 2017.China found a new market in South America. If tariffs are put on Canada you can expect higher fertilizer prices
Tariff all of it to billy goat hell!
and result of coming tariffs and unsafe farming practices, as countries are looking for alternative grain sources to end US inports
China already buys from South America before tariffs China buys from the USA cause our products are better
The decline has been ongoing long before the tariffs of 2017. Way bigger issue than that
All this does is help the huge farms instead of a young farmer trying to start up.
These hand outs need to stop this is not going to fix anything long term
they keep the farms alive until some more permanent solution can be found. and it's just the start, next year it will be hundreds of billions
No bail outs! If you fail then do better next time!
as long as farmers DONT stick together NOTHING will ever change. we control ALLL the food BUT like all my neighbors the government has them right were they want them. they ARE so deep in debt they HAVE to plant and hope for a good year
they cant....If they couldnt in the 80's they sure as hell wont now...
I would take a property tax abatement. Cut my tax burden instead of increasing it please.
Stop the power of Cargill. And the farmers get some air.
Ardent Mills of Denver imported Polish and German wheat to Tampa instead of railing it from Kansas. So wrong
What is a free hand out of money called? Welfare

They should cap it at 500 combined acres.
A cap is hard cause I farm with my brother, we’re 50/50. All Fsa stuff is a partnership, a 500 acre cap wouldn’t seam fair
I agree with just about all the comments. It’s all bs. Even if this money is available I as a small farm will not benefit at all
That's right, let's get more farmers obligated to big bro.
farm credit is looking to make over 1 billion this year
What if you abandon corn and beans? No payment?
Sounds like around half
How about you do like the cattle market and contract until the price goes up.
Save the $10 billion. No one needs $600,000 tractors and $800,000 combines. It's possible and profitable to farm without uncle Sam's welfare.
yes it actually is... I pnated all my corn and milo with a 3000 dollar planter
tat 10 is nothing compaired the coming 200
What happens when import taxes are imposed on all products? Will everyone who suffers from bad policy be reimbursed?
There’s 1.9 million farmers…that comes out to an average of $5600 per farmer
Another nail in the coffin for anyone having the dream of starting a farm 👎
What is the health of the banks. I am hearing bad things for some. While some banks are healthy.
Government teats with more sweet milk!
One can go back and watch a whole lot of TH-cam farmer channels opining about COVID money being handed out. As they say "glass houses".......
Don’t worry if you own a lot of land just make millions and sell it to some developer to build houses!
Cargill?
Socialism for Capitalism. Does the American Farmer get some addictive drugs also?? Buy Put options instead of receiving a Government check.
so government subsidies
Farmer welfare what's new they been going to the mailbox for decades
Free new diesel pickups for everyone
Go figure more CORPORATE GRIFT.
Bill gates be happy about this announcement
Why are the visors on farmers caps curved that way ?
To help them sight in on the mail box to see if the Government farm checks have arrived. 😜

Trump and elon said we have tough times ahead and they are making sure it happens. You get what you vote for. Sometimes sooner than you thought.
Capt. bankruptcy will outspend both FDRAnd Reagan combined
Biden has added 7.9 trillion to the national debt. Trump added 6.5 trillion. Both parties are responsible.
Get over your TDS
Farming in the USA can't make its own profit. Oh. Big farmers get subsidized with money from government so theyy can give big donations to political campaigns.
So is any of this aid given back to the tax payers when farmers have bumper corps or top dollar per bushel corn or beans?
Yes it’s called income tax.
It’s going to large corporate ag companies
when everany business hasto go to govmnt for help needs to quit
A good farmer will give half back in taxes. The showoff farmers will pay bills or buy a new pickup
Since when is this how you decide if someone is a good farmer? Why would you pay a large tax bill if needed a piece of equipment?
that’s the dumbest thing iv ever heard ….. dumbest
ohhh fuck no tho neither one...
That is what happened to me I paid most back in taxes because I managed with what I had.
@@craigadair128I believe he is talking about farm management.
