I was torn between the XR1200 and the roadster, but I went with the XR. I just did a stage 1 by myself over the winter, and holy hell. The front wheel comes up on every shift. I agree with your wife though, the clutch on the roadster is painful.
Yeah, most Harleys have that problem, and she has just a bit of arthritis in her left hand. It was worse when we lived in the city and she had to be working the clutch in stop and go traffic.
To my Sportster 883R, I fitted a Vance&Hines Fuelpak, Q exhaust ('Q' for quiet, but was very loud), and air filter. The bike was transformed from shopping bike to a roadburner. I would recommend this route as simple but effective.
My stage 5 was a little different. I have a Fatboy to look cool and haul a passenger. I added a Ducati 1198S for when I want actual performance. I’ve toured the factory in Bologna and those kids can build bikes!
Despite owning a Fatboy in the past and Slim now, I still have a soft spot for my first bike, 2006 Sporty 1200 Low. Besides the mandatory stage 1 kit with SE intake. I added a rejetted Mikuni HSR42 carb and V&H straight shots. The next best upgrade was replacing stock suspension with Progressive front cartridge, Ohlins rear shocks, plus better rubber rear to keep the bike planted on the road. The remainder of my mods were cosmetic thanks to RSD to make this sporty into my fave commuter bike by day and bar hopper by night
2017 Triumph Bobber. Decat x pipe from Tec bike parts, British customs exhausts, Booster plug. 12 minute tune as per Triumph documentation (start it on button only, no blipping the throttle, leave until the fan kicks in, wait 12 minutes, turn off, wait for 2 hrs so the ECU has time to reprogram). £600 all in and you don't need the BC exhausts (£400) if you want to keep it neighbour friendly.
Nice work man , im glad you like it . Im suprised, its less expensive for you to do to your roadster in Canada then it is to do my iron 1200 in America. Also the SE slipons are louder then some of the 2 into 1 full systems. They do look and sound nice though.
Thanks for the info. The Canadian dollar is at 80 cents US, so your dealer is really charging up. I might consider a 2 int 1 if I wanted to move the pegs, but right now I went with the cheaper option.
@@DifferentSpokesTV yeah , ive also been looking into the cobra speedster 909s , they offer an adult baffle and they have an interesting design they say performs like a 2-Into-1. I went ahead with tossing the warrenty so my options are more open It appears.
Well, I turned my 500cc scrambler basically into a touring bike. I modded the seat with a gel pad and put real leather on it. Topcase and hard cases. Windscreen. Bar risers. I will still empty some more fuel tanks, then heat grips and a different horn will be installed - the little lion is a bit too quiet for my liking (my husband wants to ensure that the bike runs smoothly, as the guarantee is still valid. So he thinks the dealership might be pick on it if he deals with the electric system - we had some trouble with several sensors there).
I bought a used 14 883 that came with an open exhaust. Installed baffles and decided to go full stage 1 with new air intake and fuel tuner. My butt wanted to say low end torque increased a bit but top end shrunk by a lot. The sportster was an impulse buy and it was already my 3rd bike so I traded it in for an Indian tourer. I’ve always been about crossing states then going around the city.
Yeah, a touring bike and a Sportster are definitely quite different. Having said that, the 1200 is geared so high that it putts along on the highway at 3200 RPM all day. We're planning on taking some longer trips and Brooke will probably ride it while I ride my Tenere.
"Stage V buy a stock Diavel." Bro you are awesome. Keep up the great content. Had a sportster for 4 months. frame flex at 90mph freaked me out and sold it that weekend. But boy was she pretty. 23K miles on my Diavel with Remus slip on, power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Also a VStrom 1000 with 38K my swiss army bike. And a '74 CB750.
I got a stage 1 for my 2015 wide glide. a fine bike but much better with a stage 1 had it done at ThunderBay in Tampa, Mike Ellis did a dyna tune too, V&H's short shots, more free flowing air box ecm to put more gas where it belongs, now it sounds throaty, whereas bran new it sounded like a sewing machine but after the stage 1 Thanks a lot Mike Ellis!
Hi from Australia Our land Is 99% flat and wide. I have a 2008 CrossBones with a 110 SE upgrade. I love this bike. It will lift the front wheel up from the lights under gentle acceleration, I’ve done this twice, both by accident. It will do 200 plus kph on the Highway with my head down. Also done more than twice because I couldn’t believe it. But I like to chug along with no stress in 6th at around 2000 rpm or less and see the miles melt away. Australia has the oldest continuous HD dealership in the world. I’m not saying they’re the best but in Oz the scratch a big profitable itch. Love youse all.
Going on 20+ years now, the best sounding Harley has been a Sportster 1200 with a stage 1 kit, rivaled in that time only by some carbureted twin cam 88's. Alas, those disappeared in the mid to late 2000's
Is this really so obnoxiously loud like they say in this video? I changed air filter on mine (long legs and stock was bumping into my knee) and I am thinking about exhaust and tune to make it complete stage 1.
It's not obnoxious. My wife found it loud because she's been riding a 300cc Honda with a stock pipe, so to her it's a big change. The difference between the slip on Screamin' Eagles and stock is not huge.
Add an external breather to the mix to vent the dirty hot air/oil mix from the crankcase to a filter or open air. This wil keep your air mixture and intake route clean.
I could not justify HD’s costs so went with a powervision tuner, o2 sensors and now change parts as I see fit on my sporty.... not sure what warranty you worry so much about.
I've got a 2013 48 that I just put a Cobra system on, in and out, with their Tuner. It's deeper and meaner....and a lot more get up and go. I love it! Been considering getting a Stage IV (they have one on discount at my local dealer) but I'm not sure. I like torque over HP.
Yeah, I've heard that folks have been disappointed with the low down performance of the stage 4. In real world situations I hardly ever rev my bike that high.
You should have waited until the warranty was up and do it yourself for a lot cheaper. That's what I did with my Iron 1200. My M8 Street glide has plenty of power for me and I like the sound of the exhaust as well.
@@DifferentSpokesTV More money wasted. Sportsters are some of the most reliable bikes out there. They are so simple to work on. That's why I bought mine. Learn to turn a wrench and get to know your ride.
I bought the last Screamin' Eagle race tuner my dealer had before Harley stopped selling it. Glad I got it. I put stock CVO exhaust on my regular Ultra Limited because the looked nicer, then changed the internals with a kit from a place in the US call Fullsac Performance (yes, I know; weird name). The CVO slip ons with the full exhaust cost me $100 on Kijiji, so the total cost of the mod was pretty cheap and sounds like the Screamin' Eagle from Harley. Of course, I put the stage 1 breather on it, and just like you, I got the one that goes behind the stock cover. The clutch I had on the Sportster was a Screamin' Eagle race clutch after I blew up the spring plate, so it was even harder than stock to pull in. I installed an Easy Pull Clutch and it took about 30 minutes to do; as little as 20 bucks on Ebay. The bike had over 90K KM on it when I sold it with no issues with the clutch.
@@DifferentSpokesTV Then put the race clutch in it. The spring plate is a literal time bomb. That's why the extended warranty guys agreed to put it in as a replacement in my bike.
My question is... how does this affect gas mileage? I'm thinking of upgrading my 48 but it only has a 2.1 gallon tank. I don't do any traveling outside of Milwaukee city. Not on a motorcycle anyway.
Hello, such a nice video. I am about to make my own stage 1 to my roadster and this video helps me so much to decide. One question, what is the brand and model of this windshield? Looks nice. Best regards from Spain.
Thank you so much for this video. I have decided to not alter my bike. As you pointed out the gain I will get I don't think it's worth it. Like you I like the original air cleaner and I don't like loud pipes. The air cleaner you chose I like, but not the pipes, yes the pipes you chose were too loud for my taste. After owning two Hondas in the past, a CBR929RR and a 919 nothing I could do to make my Roadster perform like those 2 Hondas. I'm satisfied overall with the Roadster the way it is.
factory don't give you any info about power or torque ) so, just no sense in that ) BUT. If someone wants +10% to some-uncertain-power-digit for some-certain-bucks-digit - you're welcome!
@@DifferentSpokesTV Did some research and found the Oberons. Very well built, out of the UK, Canadian distributor is out of London, Blue Streak Racing.ca . Tony was awesome to deal with, sent me the levers for my bike specifically... of coarse Harley has different configuration for a CVO and they went on in about 10 minutes. My Harley hydraulic clutch now feels like a cable clutch and I can adjust it perfect for my hand. Only wish I had found them when I owned my V-Rod... that clutch was a monster! Pete
Put in screaming eagle plugs and wires. I noticed a difference on my 16 Breakout! I change plugs around every 2500 miles. Thats just me there only 20 dollars American.
That whole BS tuner vs. warranty thing is just ONE of the reasons that my chosen bike brand is Notaharley. And that's a crapload to pay for mods that you could have done yourself for half the cost. Dropped you a follow on IG. Keep up the content...
Thanks! Between my regular job, this channel and a petty busy schedule it comes down to a question of whether I want to spend hours in the garage wrenching or pay someone to do it. The good thing about having a TH-cam channel is that I can write off the whole thing come tax time because I made a video on it. Nice racket.
Unless they can prove that the aftermarket 3rd party part caused the issue you are warrantying the bike for they cannot void the warranty. If you install a performance mod and it turns out there is a problem in your suspension within the warranty period, they HAVE TO fix it. They cannot refuse the repair because you installed a bloody power commander in the bike.
Have a stage 1 on my 2005 HD Roadster. Makes a little more power and sounds better. For me, it was a worthwhile addition, but but won't go any further.
Nice video thank you! As you mention you like the looks of the Roadster, do you know you can fit the original black heat shields on your new slip ons? My Harley tech didn’t know, and as I insisted, he tried and it fits perfectly, as most slip ons are the same diameter.
I put the original heat shield up to my new pipes and they are slightly off. The new pipes are rounder where they meet the header pipe so the heat shields don't quite fit. You may be able to jerry-rig something if you're good at that sort of thing, but it won't fit without work.
What is the variety of fuel one can choose from in Canada? Is ethanol free gasoline available or as the octane rating goes up so does the amount of ethanol? Thanks in advance.
For the premium you pay on a HD it should be standard. If you buy a Ducati or BMW and you expect it to come with better finishing components that a Japanese bike so shouldn't the same hold true for other premium brands?
A million times better is a pretty big improvement! I have a 2009 Triumph Thruxtomatic, I found changing the suspension and changing the tires made a yuge difference. Not likely to tinker with the engine or pipes.
The Harley tax that the new folks do not know about. Imo, you chose the best option. While Evo heads are quite free flowing compared to Twin Cam wheezers, any increase of duration in cam timing would kill the low end grunt. I don't know what is happening today, but the Sportster is the one to modify, the four cam set up gives more valve train stability and the Sportster was the choice of drag racers years ago.
Mods .. I can Harley contain myself. That being said, as much as I hate baby wakers, thinking about a 2 to 1 slip on for my Scrambler 1200 XC. And maybe an after market air filter.
I did a stage 3 on a HD 1200 Roadster and was very disappointed after the amount of money spent. Luckily it wasn't my money since it was a dealer project for a demo I wanted use. Also put on a TBR 2-1 full exhaust too. Still a dog. Guess I just expected so much more for $3000+ in performance upgrades.
Depends. The Scout is an absolute blast to ride. But, if you're into the character of air cooled, single pin crank, 45 degree engines; the Scout doesn't offer that. Both are awesome, just different riding experiences.
@@usmcvet0313 good point. I was gonna say some snide remark like that, "a full suspension, engine and frame upgrade on a Sportster is called the Scout."
@@usmcvet0313 The Sportster as we know it is about to come to an end. It can't meet the EU Euro 5 standards, and will no longer be sold there after 2021. That's a problem for HD, being that The Sporty is their best selling model over there. Best guess, is a new Sportster built around the Revolution engine is coming soon. It's a good idea anyway, because the current one can't compete with Indian and Triumph's 1200's.
@@TattooedHoodlum depends what you mean by compete. On a track, no probably not. In the market place? More Sportsters will be sold this year than Scouts or Bonnevilles, so that would make the Sporty more successful in the marketplace. That being said, I would be excited to see a Revolution Max powered next gen Sporty. I hope they keep the evo around as a classic model though.
I have a stage 3 on my fatboy with the phallic air cleaner it is truly obnoxious ....but so am I gives me 97 hp and more torque than you can shake a stick at
Stage 1 for Harley is around US $ 2,100 I experimented with slip-ons and full system exhaust. Full system is the only way to go Is it worth it? yes. Came out a totally different bike I see no point going Stage 2 or beyond, just waste of $ Instead of wasting $ on Stage 2, you can just get OHLINS suspensions and Fork Springs You can upgrade the brake, brake pads, seat, LED head lights, tires, etc Now I do Stage 1 on all my Japanese performance bikes (ex: CB 650) same thing: full system exhaust, air cleaner, but instead of FP3 / Screamin Eagle tuner, I do ECU Flash / dyno tune Which costs around the same as Harley Stage 1 ($ 2,100), and the performance is similarly noticeable Now been trying hard to resist the urge of buying a Rebel 1100 and hang out until Harley releases Bronx 975 or any other Revolution Max engine sportsters. I just can't ride any air-cooled sportsters anymore. The performance and comfort is just too unsatisfying
I tried making my Sporty a better bike by throwing money/time at it. Finally, I did a Stage 6. What's that you ask? Trading your Sporty in for a Dyna. The Dyna is a better bike & used, can be had for the price of a new Sporty. If I was doing it today, it'd be a new Indian Chief (new, it's only $2K more than a new Sporty).
In another reality the Xr engine development would have been continued for the sportster range instead of ditching it.For a premium T shirt manufacturer they know how to save a buck on there secondary products. There wouldnt be a need for so much aftermarket tune kits.
Mackie Harley Davidson in Whitby. They're always treated me well there even long before I was a customer so the horror stories about Harley dealers don't apply everywhere.
@@DifferentSpokesTV Mr. Mackie always walks up to me a says hi, asks if he can assist me in any way... every time I walk in there. I've never even bought a bike from them! It's hard to find a good dealer, for sure, but when you do it feels comforting! The trust between a dealer and rider is unique... my car has 4 wheels and if something is an issue it has airbags too... my bike has to be perfect both in the work completed and in my head when I ride. I've stopped using a shop because they forgot to torque down a foot peg and it was loose when I rode home... They don't get a second chance usually with my bike. Miles, the service manager at Barrie has treated me well, he is the reason I've stayed there for service over the last couple years.
And the best part? Putting a 1,000.00 stage 1 kit, and a Corbin seat on your sporty apparently makes a 5500.00 bike worth 11k according to the used bike pages...

You don't buy a Harley for anything but looks attitude comfort and lifestyle choice, My wife and I still want to load the Harleys up with luggage against sissy bars and ride to Spain from the UK... I,m past sport bikes now for this type of ride and my Multistrader needed a step ladder for me to climb up on!! lol all the best Phil
Just depends what you want in a bike. A stage 4 HD isn't intended to outrun sportbikes, it's intended to enhance the performance of an HD for what it is. If someone wants the character that HD offers, and wants the most performance they can get out of that, stage 4 makes sense.
Depends what you're referring to by power/ speed. If they're buying an HD to compete on the track, then yes that would be unwise. My HD has plenty of power/ speed for what it was designed for, the street, which is where it spends 100% of its time. Conversely, if someone buys a sportbike purely to ride on the street (which the vast majority do), that would be unwise when there are many objectively better suited bikes for the street. It's relative to the intended use.
@@Anton_G_604 I definitely agree that we're using more of what we paid for out on the street. I totally get it if a guy says sportbikes just make him happy, and he deals with its shortcomings because he just loves it. Same with guys on adventure bikes that never have any intention of touching the dirt. What I hate is when a guy has the attitude of my bike is faster, so your HD is an overweight pos.
You're comparing apples to oranges, unless your talking models in the same category. So for BMW the new R18, or Yamaha the Star Eluder, ect. When compared to those, they all are very similar. The under-square engines HDs and those others run aren't about big horsepower numbers, they're all about torque. Big torque numbers at low rpms is what you want with a big, heavy bike. As for oem parts like Screaming Eagle, it's no different than what, say KTM for example, does with the Akroprovic accessory exhaust. They all try to do it, HD has just been better at marketing theirs to their customer base.
The big question is: If Harley Davidson really wanted to make money and sell bikes, why do they keep selling bikes with subpar parts and performance for 20-30% more MSRP than probably every other brand on the planet, and then expect you to dump the same amount of money as the bike on upgrades?!?!?! Plus they make a killing off of financing . . . sorry, not gonna get my money lol.

I did the work on my Roadster myself and it took 10 minutes. VH FP 3. Jets take way more time. Slip ons, 15 minutes, SE air cleaner about 40 minutes, at half the price. Simple bikes to work on.
I have 3 Harley's and went with Stage 1 on all 3
2021 Harley Street Glide - Screamin Eagle Ventalator, Cobra Neighbor Haters & the Screamin Eagle tuner
2014 Harley Dyna Wide Glide - Screamin Eagle filter, V&H Side Shots & Screamin Eagle tuner
2009 Harley Rocker C Screamin Eagle filter (stock cover), V&H Big Radius & Screamin Eagle tuner
They all sound great! basically just wakes the bike up
I was torn between the XR1200 and the roadster, but I went with the XR.
My XR1200 does too. It's a tractor clutch and after 2 or 3 hours, or 20 minutes of city riding it's nothing but wrist pain.
An excellent explanation of the Stage 1 upgrade! 😎
Love my Iron with stage one. It’s more than enough power for me to cruise locally, and that’s my preferred kind of ride.
Excellent presentation on the Stage 1 upgrade! Thanks 😎
To my Sportster 883R, I fitted a Vance&Hines Fuelpak, Q exhaust ('Q' for quiet, but was very loud), and air filter. The bike was transformed from shopping bike to a roadburner. I would recommend this route as simple but effective.
Thanks for sharing!
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Nice! You can definitely cross a continent on a 500cc bike. Enjoy the summer with it.
Thanks! hat's an awesome collection. A bike for every occasion.
I got a stage 1 for my 2015 wide glide. a fine bike but much better with a stage 1 had it done at ThunderBay in Tampa, Mike Ellis did a dyna tune too, V&H's short shots, more free flowing air
box ecm to put more gas where it belongs, now it sounds throaty, whereas bran new it sounded
like a sewing machine but after the stage 1 Thanks a lot Mike Ellis!
Hi from Australia
Our land Is 99% flat and wide.
Thanks for the info. I love the springer look. I hear from a lot of Aussies who love to ride Harleys and who love off-roading as well.
The stage five comment was pretty funny. Is stage six a VMAX?
Either that or a Hayabusa.
Stage 6 is a Super Duke R
Although it is loud, it sounds nice, but the added power still makes me a little nervous. Great video!! :)
Just a matter of practice.
Going on 20+ years now, the best sounding Harley has been a Sportster 1200 with a stage 1 kit, rivaled in that time only by some carbureted twin cam 88's. Alas, those disappeared in the mid to late 2000's
Yeah, the EVOs had that personality that the M8 can't quite replicate.
The only mod I did was recent. I picked up a Remus hexicone for my RT for $50. Took the baffle out. Actually sounds like something now.
Good video and I just did the stage 1 on my Roadster. :)
Oh nice!
Roadster is a great bike. I've got an old school stage one on my Road King. Screaming eagle street cannon true duals and a S&S super E.
Add an external breather to the mix to vent the dirty hot air/oil mix from the crankcase to a filter or open air. This wil keep your air mixture and intake route clean.
Great tip! Thanks!
I'd have waited four years because I bought an extended warranty.
@@DifferentSpokesTV More money wasted. Sportsters are some of the most reliable bikes out there. They are so simple to work on. That's why I bought mine. Learn to turn a wrench and get to know your ride.
Its not just about power, a stage one makes every thing run smoother, even the gearchanging is better.
You and I are on the same page! Well done sir! 👍🏽
Awesome! Thank you! Much appreciated.
Nice. Glad to hear you had no issues. I'm planning on keeping this bike long term and putting it in a museum someday.
@@DifferentSpokesTV Then put the race clutch in it. The spring plate is a literal time bomb. That's why the extended warranty guys agreed to put it in as a replacement in my bike.
@@brianq103 Thanks for the tip.
You are one smart cookie... Lots of interesting information. Nice and personal... 👍
Thank you so much 🤗
My question is... how does this affect gas mileage?
Glad to help. The Roadster sounds pretty good out of the box and the performance gains are not huge, so you might as well save some $$$.
Nice! Too bad it didn't come from the factory this way
factory don't give you any info about power or torque )
so, just no sense in that )
BUT. If someone wants +10% to some-uncertain-power-digit for some-certain-bucks-digit - you're welcome!
I just added Oberon levers to my SG. I have small hands... what a difference!
Thanks! We'll look into that.
@@DifferentSpokesTV
Did some research and found the Oberons.
Pete
Nice review. Does Brooke need a new clutch handle?
$1500 for an upgrade to bring a bike up to what it should have been off the showroom floor? That's ridiculous.
Wait what! Dude you just expanded my mind! Do you need your channel to be getting paid or do subscriptions matter?
Unless they can prove that the aftermarket 3rd party part caused the issue you are warrantying the bike for they cannot void the warranty. If you install a performance mod and it turns out there is a problem in your suspension within the warranty period, they HAVE TO fix it. They cannot refuse the repair because you installed a bloody power commander in the bike.
Have a stage 1 on my 2005 HD Roadster. Makes a little more power and sounds better. For me, it was a worthwhile addition, but but won't go any further.
I'm thinking the same.
@@DifferentSpokesTV ah i see... Mine are the Cobra RPTs, I thought they shared the same characteristics.
What is the variety of fuel one can choose from in Canada? Is ethanol free gasoline available or as the octane rating goes up so does the amount of ethanol? Thanks in advance.
I've seen anywhere from 87 to 94. Yes, we have ethanol free and I usually use 91 in my bikes. You can't go wrong with that.
For the premium you pay on a HD it should be standard. If you buy a Ducati or BMW and you expect it to come with better finishing components that a Japanese bike so shouldn't the same hold true for other premium brands?
Yep, but guys like me allow Harley to get away with it so they continue to do it :)
A million times better is a pretty big improvement! I have a 2009 Triumph Thruxtomatic, I found changing the suspension and changing the tires made a yuge difference. Not likely to tinker with the engine or pipes.
Thanks! The rear suspension on the Roadster could be improved, and I'll definitely look around for tire options when it's time to change them.
Yeah, I'm most concerned about reliability, so the higher compression stuff is not for me.
"Put engine on steroids".. cuts to road cycle racing. Bwahahaha.. GOLD!
Good ol' Lance Armstrong.
Mods .. I can Harley contain myself. That being said, as much as I hate baby wakers, thinking about a 2 to 1 slip on for my Scrambler 1200 XC. And maybe an after market air filter.
I want to get my 2020 roadglide to perform like my MT-10
I did a stage 3 on a HD 1200 Roadster and was very disappointed after the amount of money spent. Luckily it wasn't my money since it was a dealer project for a demo I wanted use. Also put on a TBR 2-1 full exhaust too. Still a dog. Guess I just expected so much more for $3000+ in performance upgrades.
Hahaha. Love the stage 5 comment
Yeah, there's only so much you can do with air cooling and push rods. Can't expect a Ducati with that tech.
The proper upgrade is an Indian Scout.
What seat do you have?
Well done! Thank you! (I'm one of the 8percenters...!)
Awesome, thanks!
Really enjoyed that. Thank you!
The Diavel comment got a subscriber out of me!
I have a stage 3 on my fatboy with the phallic air cleaner it is truly obnoxious ....but so am I gives me 97 hp and more torque than you can shake a stick at
Cool! And your bike is always happy to see you.
$360 for clutch ramps?! You got shafted. Taking the primary cover off is cake.
Harley labour ain't cheap, but in the end it's a tax write off.
Awesome thanks for all the info!!!
Stage 1 for Harley is around US $ 2,100
I experimented with slip-ons and full system exhaust. Full system is the only way to go
Is it worth it? yes. Came out a totally different bike
I see no point going Stage 2 or beyond, just waste of $
Instead of wasting $ on Stage 2, you can just get OHLINS suspensions and Fork Springs
You can upgrade the brake, brake pads, seat, LED head lights, tires, etc
Now I do Stage 1 on all my Japanese performance bikes (ex: CB 650)
same thing: full system exhaust, air cleaner, but instead of FP3 / Screamin Eagle tuner, I do ECU Flash / dyno tune
Which costs around the same as Harley Stage 1 ($ 2,100), and the performance is similarly noticeable
Now been trying hard to resist the urge of buying a Rebel 1100 and hang out until Harley releases Bronx 975 or any other Revolution Max engine sportsters. I just can't ride any air-cooled sportsters anymore. The performance and comfort is just too unsatisfying
The Bronx was canceled a while back. Which sucks because it was the only upcoming Harley I was excited about
They "canceled" ? I thought it's only delayed or pushed back to next year - along with other Revolution Max models
The custom is supposedly going to come out sometime this year so you'll get that liquid cooled Sporty soon.
Every bike needs a pipe and tune or at a minimum a slip on to make it sound like a bike. Stock mufflers are literally bound for the garage bin.
That seems to be the way of things. I'll probably look into a stage 1 for my Tenere 700 as well.
You owe me a cup of ☕. I just spit one out laughing when you mentioned the Bronx. Didn't see that one coming. Well played, sir.
I think it is just a matter of time before you install Stage 4 and give Diavel or Rocket 3 ( or a supercharged H2 ) a run for its money 😉
I suppose I could put on a stage 4 and a turbo.
Put a stage 1 on my Ultra Limited, i thought it was worth it. Just enough power for me
That's how I feel. I don't need to run 10 second quarters, just have plenty of power to merge on the highway and make a quick pass every now and then.
Excellent video.👌👌subscribed 👍👍👍
Thanks and welcome!
Come on people subscribe! Your videos are my absolute favorite! Keep up the good work!!
Yay! Thank you!
Yeah, the Chefs are beautiful bikes.
Fi2000 does not affect the ECM
wonderful video, thanks, you should read audio books, voice so smooth!
They should come with any stage off the lot at no additional cost since they are underpowered and so expensive. Or just buy an indian💪
Indian also offers the same stage options.
If you want power, get an FTR or a Bronx.
Oh wait, never mind.
(I see what you did there 😉)
In another reality the Xr engine development would have been continued for the sportster range instead of ditching it.For a premium T shirt manufacturer they know how to save a buck on there secondary products. There wouldnt be a need for so much aftermarket tune kits.
Amazing bike
Who is your local dealer?
Mackie Harley Davidson in Whitby. They're always treated me well there even long before I was a customer so the horror stories about Harley dealers don't apply everywhere.
@@DifferentSpokesTV
Mr.
Miles, the service manager at Barrie has treated me well, he is the reason I've stayed there for service over the last couple years.
great content
Thanks! Much appreciated.
I just realized, the best cruiser for me would be a yamaha cp2 engine
And the best part? Putting a 1,000.00 stage 1 kit, and a Corbin seat on your sporty apparently makes a 5500.00 bike worth 11k according to the used bike pages...
Check out tomboy a bit on youtube for the kind of 883 Iron we are looking for, she rides miles over continents on hers! very good..
I don’t really understand modifying for more hp on a Harley, it feels like your trying to make it something that it’s not
u r the best keep uploading more videos wont take long to reach 1m subscriber if people get to know about your channel
What you are not saying is that no one, not even screamin eagle can be fitted to mid 2021 onwards model years Harley’s CANNOT BE FITTED due to euro 5 emissions and O2 sensors- NOISE HAS ENDED ON Harley’s - riders noise now reduced to stock performance and sounds 😡😡😩😩
If you want more power and performance "don't buy a Harley!" my wife is going to get a stage 1 on her 883 Iron (she bought a Harley as we are getting on a bit and she liked the lightness with low seat)mainly for the better sound of some short shots. I got a CVO Fat Bob this year it pulls like a train already (1800cc) but on Thursday i,m going to Harley in Leeds (UK) for a set of short shots and a tuner to sort out the emissions and exhaust exup type valve for the look and the sound!. I have a Ducati Monster 1200 with pipes and a tune for my "scratching" fun and when I like to get out by my self for lairy fun! You don't buy a Harley for anything but looks attitude comfort and lifestyle choice, My wife and I still want to load the Harleys up with luggage against sissy bars and ride to Spain from the UK... I,m past sport bikes now for this type of ride and my Multistrader needed a step ladder for me to climb up on!! lol all the best Phil
and "NOW" > after the stage 4 mod,,,,, you've maybe "equal" the 1978 Yamaha XS1100 on Horse Power,,,,,,right? 95 Bhp
Just depends what you want in a bike. A stage 4 HD isn't intended to outrun sportbikes, it's intended to enhance the performance of an HD for what it is. If someone wants the character that HD offers, and wants the most performance they can get out of that, stage 4 makes sense.
Nice looking machine but I can already see the Masvidal Tenere landing a flying knee in the first 30 yards it goes head to head with Ben Askren
One of the best comments ever. Thank you sir.
Most *knowledgeable* people don’t buy their Harley for power / speed .
@@usmcvet0313
All valid points 👍🏼
@@Anton_G_604 I definitely agree that we're using more of what we paid for out on the street. I totally get it if a guy says sportbikes just make him happy, and he deals with its shortcomings because he just loves it. Same with guys on adventure bikes that never have any intention of touching the dirt. What I hate is when a guy has the attitude of my bike is faster, so your HD is an overweight pos.
I wouldn't own one. Of course i don't like cults. And guys in black leather vests. Yikes.
Don't like a lot of people do you? And how often do you see someone riding a Harley with a black vest that isn't 65 or older?
I love my black leather vest.
How is it none of the other majors (BMW, Ducati) sell factory nerfed engines? Oh you power? Sure. We'll let the dealer rebuild that engine for you.
