First T9 I ever got, I remember grinding this line after they announced how the line split was going to happen and I got to the Baltimore and kept the other ones so that I got compensation and the new ships auto-researched/purchased when the split happened. Good times
I have played Buffalo exactly once since I got her when WG reworked the USN CA tree. That match was a win and thus I have 100% WR and deep purple stats on this ship. And that's probably why I haven't touched her since then. However, I am currently thinking about resetting that tree (always Harugumo gets a bit boring over time). But I am having too much fun in Des Moines right now. Might actually consider getting Salem just as a temporary replacement. :-)
usa heavy cruisers was my first line to grind out and i always loved buffalo, my most insane dmg games were in this ship back in the days, glad to see it getting a buff now, it definitely fell off its horse over the time.
I miss t6 Cleveland . That thing was insane at the tier ! The Cleveland went up to t8 and got a radar . The pcola went down to t 6 and got brutal armor . Yeah … that ! I will say the Russian t6 light is not a Cleveland but it is pretty good . Those flat shell arks and spotter plane are great ! But she is no Cleveland.
Always liked this ship, it's AP actually has better pen values than Des Moines. Very solid ship in the right hands and now it's even easier to use with that rudder shift buff.
Can we get Anchorage next? It got buffed a couple of patches ago And seeing how its basically a Buffalo at tier 8 (+smoke/spotter) it would be interesting to see a comparison
ngl i always thought this ship was slept on too much before the nerfs. Yes it has/had its weakness but the damage potential of those guns was always insane if played right. Not surprised to see it be genuinely a serious threat now after those buffs.
Loved Buffalo, love it more now. BBs that give you broadside trying to angle to another BB immediately pay a heavy price, especially if you can get all turrets off.
In remembrance of the old tier 9 Baltimore: 9 guns, slow arcs, 15 (!) second reload... and no radar. Because radar hadn't been introduced yet. The pain was real.
I have redone the US CA line 3 times now. I hate it. Mainly because for me the Des Moines is a cursed ship. I suck with it and pretty much have nothing but hate for the thing, that said, Buffalo sucks(ed) and doing the grind through it just to get to a ship that I also despise just made it such a chore, so much so, my gf has told me I can't regrind it again because I get so irate every time I do that line. So good to hear that Buffalo got a buff.
I've always been a fan of my Buffalo but I've had to defend her from her detractors. She' was overshadowed by the Alaska at T9. With new new buffs, she can take her place as one of the better T9 cruisers.
Kinda nice not paying attn, then they buff a ship I already made work and enjoyed! I run double rudder in quite a few cruisers, prob not here, but the playstyle that this buff makes available to me now is appreciated!!! o7
Its been awhile since I went through that line, but I dont remember the Buffalo being to painful to get through. It certainly appears some of these older ships are getting well deserved buffs to keep them relevant.
US CA line was the first I ground to T10, and in general I think it's a pretty solid line. But, I'm not what you'd call a Buffalo fan, though my wins/dmg is above the server average. I didn't think it was a bad ship before, just inferior to Hindi, DM or Tallin and Balti at tier. I'll have to try her again, maybe I'll become a fan.
Buffalo was my 1st reset tree "top" tier ship as I didn't buy DM for 1st 3 tree resets with 3mo 2x RBP bonus. So I didn't know how DM is but Buffalo felt not great for me as I wasn't good player. Anyway it was only cruiser which finally helped me finish 2 DD kill + survive match mission. Otherwise I felt that ABXY turret layout and 27mm armor in 406 mm and bigger guns all around - Not good experience 😅. I believe any buff of tree cruisers can help.
Could you play the Baltimore? I have had many experiences where I surprise myself at the Baltimores ability to push. I have won some brawls against some BBs that way.
Something completely aside from the strength of the american cruiser line and ships in general, is that they are absolutely gorgeous ships.. For all of their many other ones you definitely can't fault wg for their art team.
I would argue what DM needs more than range, is better turret traverse. 30s traverse is brutally slow for a Cruiser that is supposed to play mid-close range. That said, a range buff to around 16.5km would be nice.
This ship should have had 10 sec. Reload from the beginning. I already had the Desmoine when the line split happened. I played the Baltimore more than the Buffalo.
The Buffalo was so painful to grind: Worse range than the Balti, worse concealment, worse reload, and worse maneuverability. This shit sucked so much that right after researching the Des Moines, I immediately sold it. I hated playing it with a passion, I could not deal with it. Maybe I'll pick it up some other time when I feel like it after the buffs.
I thought the same at first but thats just because it requires an entirely different playstyle than des and balti. Plays a bit like a french cruiser. Once I figured that out my w/r actually went positive in it.
I like superships in the game but making tier 9 play them is a little much. There already is a pretty big difference in power going to tier ten. I think the game would need more players to remove the tier 9 from supership games tho.
Great job. You really have a talent for explaining what you're doing while weaving in important gameplay tactics and ship abilities. Smooth and clear. You bring the game to life.
Prior to the buff, I would play Buffalo on the minimum possible range. 14.1 km. Honestly, I'm kind of annoyed that I lost the ability to laugh at the haters who always complained about the short range.
Glad to see wargaming giving out buffs to cruisers to make them feel less like battleship donations. Shows that they are starting to finally listen. Now where's my 10km neptune detection.
Tallinn at least has some things going for her, the 16km stock range, the nice AP shells, the ability to stealth radar with a 12km radar, decent armour. Buffalo even after these buffs is still quite bad.
Buffalo is still shit, what are you talking about? 15k range is insanely short vs tier X and superships and on most maps there is nowhere to hide. It's garbage, like most tech line tier IX.
I... I really hope that's sarcasm... because Buffalo is the 4th worst on average stats of all T9 cruisers. She was outperformed by a large chunk of the T8 cruisers. Including nearly losing out to Atago B. A ship with a 16 second reload on 10 guns, nearly has higher average damage than a ship that had an 11 second reload and 12 guns. Encounter is to new to really say where she fits into anything, but she's steadily been dropping as her battle count goes up so it's fair to say she's gonna end up fairly average.
Buffalo should be renamed to Buffalot.
You must be a Dad
Get out
@@drink15 Dad’s humour, right.
Just got the Buffalo yesterday and in the first battle I got a Kraken with a new damage record for me, it feel very strong indeed.
Wait was that on mountain range arms race? I played against a guy in a buffalo who had a kraken and said that it was their damage pr.
First T9 I ever got, I remember grinding this line after they announced how the line split was going to happen and I got to the Baltimore and kept the other ones so that I got compensation and the new ships auto-researched/purchased when the split happened. Good times
I hope to see some of these buffs on Anchorage.
If ever a ship needed buffs!
Maneuverability would be nice, but otherwise Anchorage is fine atm
The spotter plane is quite useful
@@EvoraGT430 No truer words sir !! I have stopped playing that ship the last 2 years!!
Came to say the same thing, heavy ap would be nice or a slighty better reload
@@billhanna2148 My Anchorage has basically a port queen from day one.

Glad to see this thing get some love, I hated playing it through the first time
Glad they've buffed her mobility, it did always feel like you were sailing a brick.
Nothing can rival the actual Queen of Bricks (Vermont) though
I miss t6 Cleveland . That thing was insane at the tier ! The Cleveland went up to t8 and got a radar . The pcola went down to t 6 and got brutal armor . Yeah … that ! I've always liked Buffalo, she is the only T9 cruiser I kept after getting to the T10. I am going to play her more now. ;)
Missed the opportunity to call the video "Buffdalo"
Love the content, keep it up!

This ship is now very good. The rudder really helps dodge. DPM set up with AR, beast and those american 8 in pen angles.
can you explain what mods are the best for certain type of ships.....engine or steering gears?
Buffalo is one of a handful of ships that I've ever gotten a Kraken in, she was already a great ship and now she's even better
ngl i always thought this ship was slept on too much before the nerfs.
All the US CH line is amazing. Cruiser killers for real and no slouch against any other ships.
I love this ship! Since it's buffed, I love it even more
I left this game because of subs, yet I am here watching your games. Great commentary, potatoest quality 🥔
In remembrance of the old tier 9 Baltimore: 9 guns, slow arcs, 15 (!) second reload... and no radar. Because radar hadn't been introduced yet.
The pain was real.
Nice, great buff. Would you mind doing a review of the Saint Louis buff from the same update, it's really a ship that we don't see much.
I have redone the US CA line 3 times now. I hate it. Mainly because for me the Des Moines is a cursed ship. @Potato Quality , how do you get to see the number ships that RPF you?
It seems quite strong to have that honestly.
Love the vid, love the games.
its a mod
It’s a mod in Aslains mod pack. Think is called intuition or something. Very useful as you said :).
Its been awhile since I went through that line, but I dont remember the Buffalo being to painful to get through. It certainly appears some of these older ships are getting well deserved buffs to keep them relevant.

Me: Buffalo how many cits do you take? Buffalo: ALL.
That was a secondary Stalingrad sitting at the back of the map or did I see that wrong?
Could you play the Baltimore? I have had many experiences where I surprise myself at the Baltimores ability to push. I have won some brawls against some BBs that way.
Balti and DM can do that if pushed carefully but truth be told that's not really it's main role
Hey PQ, I plan on going down the French BB line so I would like you to play Richelieu to get some inspiration!
i there a coal ship that remove or change?
PQ loves the BUFFalo
Buffalo is still my best T9 cruiser in terms of stats. Now it will be even better
Something completely aside from the strength of the american cruiser line and ships in general, is that they are absolutely gorgeous ships..

They should also buff des moines range a little, help it be a wee bit more meta

I have the Buff and have always liked it, but the problem is that it is still T9.
third time asking pq to continue the coal ship series
Do Chikuma 2 next!
that bourgoune was a true a bot lol
Yeh this Bourgogne seems to be a P2P
New and improved Buffalo or Alaska?
Can you play incomparable
pq hates it because of its inconsistent guns
Also he already played it not long ago
Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo.
That was a Stalin with a secondary build. Hmmmm… anyway, could you play hipper?

Death. Death, by Bungo.
The buffalo wasn’t horrible but Baltimore felt better and DM is sooo much better
Dont look at Buffelo as a big Balti with an extra turret. Rather see it as a Tier 9 Annapolis without the funny button.
Can you do a Vallejo for 2024 plzzz
More like Poor-gone and Buff-alo, am I right?
Suprised you didn't take the AAA/consumable reload mod
Waste of time.
Prior to the buff, I would play Buffalo on the minimum possible range. 14.1 km. Honestly, I'm kind of annoyed that I lost the ability to laugh at the haters who always complained about the short range.
ship request : leg mod Daring pls !
I'm going to dust her off and take Buffalo out for a ride. I did enjoy the grind back in the day. She was alright. Now she looks more potent.
Tulsa crying in the corner
Yea I didn't care for it too much. Had fun with Baltimore and have fun with DM but man not Buffalo
The Fluffalo
floaty shells ? .... bro , we all came thru Omaha ........
Poor Tulsa xD
try hector she is same buff
Buffapolis
buff bismarck!
hah. BUFFalo.
Pls Buff Alo! ^^
