I just wish we could get a harpoon hardpoint. It would balance itself because as a hard point it lessens the combat effectiveness of the ship, making pirates vulnerable to losing fights with dedicated combat ships and would stop this weird bumping nonsense.
Yes I 100% agree!! And they could easily make it have proper physics since like you wouldn't want to just slam on the breaks without the cable being taut. Cuz then it could just tear your hard point right out.
ive been trying to do this on ps4 without the 3rd person camera, it was impossible. I accidentally bumped one and he ended up doing over 400m/s... I couldnt catch him in a modded krait II constantly boosting... So frustrating, surely Frontier could add a 'tractor' limpet or just use the collector limpets to stop a disabled ship.
Great fun video man ... but you do a lot of extra stuff that you don't have to. Bumping instead of just staying behind the target ship is easier , plus when you spin a ship like that you create a hazard for your limpets destroying credits in the process , and damaging any cargo that comes that is bumped by the hull of the spinning ship. However I also see some advantages as you are potentially stopping a ship from using it's frameshift drive , because potentially a drifting ship going fast enough could activate it's FSD.
@@geeknerdvlog Using Antwans method the idea is not to empty the target. You fire off 5 to 8 hatch breakers then break off and collect the loot. This method suits the Krait II really well. You can get 128 tons very quickly.
@@turriffterror3881 it's what I do, all it takes is a cobra mk3. It used to be simpler as the npc used to stay still within limpet range while shooting at you and you could just rob them while tanking hits.
I just built an anaconda tank build just take there shields down then target there weapons with seekers but make sure you leave at least one weapon active then just sit there while they shoot you with there one harmless weapon and take there cargo

don't know if this is a bug but just after jan update shipe with mining lasers that would normally hold diamond in, im finding other good in them but no diamonds.
Yep, Fdev watch these vids & Twitch. If whatever you are doing can earn more than mining it gets nerfed. My player group has many streamers, but they no longer stream pve piracy and would never make a vid like this. The diamond ships are still out there. Just not in agricultural systems.

Is 1% fun, and 99% loss of time. You "fight" 1 minute, maneuver 10, to stop the target drifting, then you load some things for a profit 1/3 from what you get by mining or by bounty hunting. I would not lose my time on this until the Devs add a tractor beam or at least a harpoon. Right now, this modality is probably the one with the worst design in game, and by far the worst from a financial view.

in addition pirates in the lore already have this. So it would be really lorefriendly to implement em into the game too.
cant wait to see max maneuverability build harpoon trolling.
I dont understand why you bump instead of match speed? its space. no need to stop just match relative velocity.
Thank you. I knew something like this was possible, but this is the first demonstration I've seen.
I love how at the 0:06 mark the FSD intr, and engine sounds totally go with the music.
Thank God for you. Been trying to find a simple pirate guide forever. Ty
Too bad they nerfed it it was really fun for gameplay

My modded Krait II is fully equipped for pve piracy and boosts to 557. You need 6A thrusters with G5 dirty drives and the drag drives experimental.
Turriff Terror You know console has third person camera too right?

antwan1357 limpets can't cope with the speed, and targets dropping cargo while moving spreads the canisters over a huge area.

Answer me, fellow gentleman of fortune. What do you think of the Fletchet launcher?
Flechette launcher is garbage
Man it looks like too much work just to get them to stop flying like an idiot.
Hey could you make a link or something to your ship hud color? Its really cool
It looks like one of the built-in themes from EDHM. I can't remember the name of the theme, but I've used it before
Alternatively could you just blow the cargo hatch off and let the cargo float out that way ?
a cobra is also good one to pirate with
after the fleet carriers update i think piracy is broke again stopped 2 ships with mining lasers but no LTD. Any one else?
Or, you shoot just one time, and waits till they come back and stop to shoot you, than you tank the damage and robs them meanwhile
What is this sophisticated active tanking method, please teach us!
Bumping is so ridiculous... God I miss the old days.
Disabling a ship makes a ton more sense than making them so angry they just suicidally attack you while you empty their pockets.

i do Elite too and Kerbal
Is there any reason not to blow up the ship and collect the loot afterwards?
Loot wil be destroyed.

Ugh does not seem worth the time. One hour in your own mining vessel can net you 20+ million if done right
Or Robigo mines with a python and a 30ly fsd
