Otto Knabe kennst du den RC300h ? So bezüglich sparsam und Sportlich. Und was ich vorhin meinte ist dass kein anderer Hersteller so ausgereift ist bei Hybrid wie Toyota/Lexus. Es gibt kaum Schwächen. Laufleistungen von 400.000km mit der ersten Hybrid Batterie und dem ersten E-Motoren ist normal. Prius als Taxi, gern gesehen weil am Problemlosesten und vom Verbrauch her wesentlich niedriger als die Stern Taxen. Glaubst du nicht ? Steig in München/Stuttgart/Berlin oder sonst wo in ein Toyota Hybrid Taxi und frag die Fahrer. Ich habe es gemacht und es war immer die selbe Antwort: die Toyota Hybrid sind zuverlässiger als der Stern, trotz erheblich mehr Technik.Ein Infiniti ist schön, beobachte ich auch schon ne Weile, aber grade weil Renault dahinter steckt (bis auf ganz wenige Modelle) wage ich den Schritt von Lexus auf Infinti nicht.

Was Haltbarkeit angeht ist es bei Nissan nicht wirklich sicher, aber da der Motor schon im letzten 350Z (ohne Hybrid natürlich) schon so ziemlich als unzerstörbar gilt und der Vorgänger G37 eher zu den zuverlässigen Autos gilt, hinkt der Q50 jetzt dem Lexus in der Sache auch nicht wirklich hinterher. Renault hat eher als Renault Sport bei der Steuerung der Motoren mitgewirkt um dem Q50 den sportlichen Flair zu verleihen, mechanisch ist es aber wohl eher Nissan, ich habe jetzt auch nicht viele Berichte über viele Pannen bei dem Modell gehört. Ich möchte dich und die Welt jetzt absolut nicht dazu zwingen von Lexus auf Infiniti umzusteigen, Lexus mag ich auch, keine Sorge. (LC 500 ist schon nice)

Lexus enthusiast trivia: Everybody is wetting their bed regarding Tesla and their big dual tablet touchscreen. The Lexus LS400, back in 1998, offered an infotainment system with a color touchscreen and navigation. Keep in mind that the famous Nokia 3310 was launched in September 2000.
It's not just Atkinson . The 2GR-FXE engine really is a work of art, it has both port and direct injection and it switches between Atkinson and Otto cycle as required. You can hear this around 1:05, when it's in Atkinson the sound is deeper and more muted and when you floor it so it goes to Otto the sound is higher pitched.
Would be nice to see actual fuel economy during this cruising. I think, that lot of people are interested in how efficient can be this hybrid on highways...
Absolutely! What i can say since i drive the 450h. On Cruising "Level" about 100-120kmh, inclusive city driving (stop and go) and overland (~80 kmh) the Lexus GS450h consumes ~6.5 litre per 100 km! on this video the acutal consumption was about ~10 litre per 100km. for an 2 tons, about 345 horsepower car, the consumption of the GS is 40% lower than an similar car from bmw/audi whatever.thank you for the feedback, in the next video i will show the actuall fuel economy during different speeds and situations.

I’m looking to trade mine in (63,000miles) if I can get a 2020. I believe that’s the last year they made it. Yes? Help!!
yes they simulate 5 gears on a dual stage hybrid. if you switch to sport or sport+ also the reaction is more instantly and the suspention is switching to hard like a sporty car :-)

yes its awesome, i like it so much. it is very reliable indeed. i buy this car as a used one with 95‘000 km and it looks still new, inside and outside. now, more than 1 year i have about 130‘000 km and no problems with precisely nothing, same costs for service like the beginning. its all original, no modifications.

Driving normaly the consumption is about 6.5 litre / 100km. now in colder days its ~7.5 cause of warming up and faster respond of the engine during drive. very shot trips are not evective for the consumption. i'm cuting a video about a 2 hour journey inside switzerland and outside temperatures about 0° C. you will see a usage decreasing from 7.8 to 6.8. the absolutely must have are the LED lights :-)
Ich will mir den GS450h als Pendlerwagen zulegen, da ich absolut kein Fan von Dies, Turbo etc bin. Ich fahre pro Tag 120km und meist 130-140kmh. Du hattest die Grenze bis 120 bezeichnet. Da ich jedoch per Tempomat fahren werde, wären die Werte bis 130 doch recht interessant.
Hi, Ja mit 140 kmh trinkt der GS450h ca 7l/100km. ich schulde der Community noch ein Video, ich bin dran, da ich aber voll im Berufs- und Familienleben eingespannt bin, geht es nicht so schnell. Es geht um eine Fahrt von Zürich nach Bern im Winter wo ich den GS auf 6.8 L/100km runterfahre :-)

Gerngeschehn! Ich würde auf jeden Fall Hybrid nehmen ;-). Es ist nicht nur der Verbraucht, auch der Verschleiss... meiner hat jetzt 170'000 km und immer noch original Bremsscheiben, etc. Und der Drehmoment ist einfach geil :-D.

if you give infinitive thrust till the battery drains you dont have the accelleration power like before and the consumtion goes up. then you have to chill and cruise with about 160 / 180 kmh, battery will be filled by engine and recuperation and then you can accelerate again as if stung by the tarantella

Bhakta Singh don‘t know exactly. on this car battery isn‘t replaced, i let check this every year and everything is ok. i have about 130‘000 km now. we had one defect on a ct200h after 250‘000 km, but toyota replaced the battery without costs for us cause we prolonged the warranty.
Hi Marco, yea but i do not can explain exactly how. However, i try, the GS 450h is a Dual-Stage Hybrid, with 2 gears. you can "feel" it at about ~120 kmh, then i have a little drop. The Engine has 5 "virtual" gears. But all stuff are fully automated. i hope its ok, perhaps somebody can explain better.
It's a dual stage planetary gearset, effectively working like a CVT but without the power losses (especially at higher speeds). The staging seems to vary speeds but at full throttle it's about 60-70mph and you do notice a drop in RPMs although not really a significant acceleration loss unless you floor it as this happens I find. WRT manually switching, it's actually got 6 simulated gears, although it'll only give you the 6th in Sport/Sport+ (using the paddles in D to go past D5 just takes you back to D). The gears don't hold revs when you push it so they're a bit odd, but if you put it in S1 and slowly accelerate up to about 40mph it will increase the revs. You can up/down shift under hard acceleration but it doesn't really do much (and it's slower when accelerating) so the "gears" are only really good to prepare to overtake or get more engine braking. In a 30mph (roughly 50kph) speed limit where it then changes to a higher limit, put it in S1 at that speed and then floor it. It's like being hit in the back by a charging Rhino.
Der Gs450h S19 hat genau den gleichen Antrieb wie der 2012er GS450h. Beide haben den Dualstage Hybrid, der Brenner läuft im Atkinson-Modus. Der einzige Unterschied, der "Neuere" ist auf 250kmh begrenzt und sie haben den Verbrauch optimiert. Das heisst, Du fährst mir mit Deinem S19 bei 250 davon. Schon ausprobiert, war lustig.
The only irritating things is that is using the manual gears, leave it in Auto, it's better and more quiet. Another thing, Cruise control doesn't work at that speed? If you stay constant you will waste less fuel, do more km and as said before it will be more quiet than keep accelerating in Manual.
The gears are in auto, if you pull the thrust with gear 2 or 5 doesnt matter, it will overtake automatically the gearcontrol to auto. what is about cruise control? i was driving with 200~250 kmh, with this speeds youre not cruising, this is racing. and btw, the video showing the accelleration and max speed of an Lexus GS450h, not the economic driving on a german autobahn with that.
Leider versteht Toyota/Lexus nicht das die Leute in Europa keine 3 Autos wie die Amis haben. Bei uns muss ein Auto alles können und da bringt der geilste V6/Hybrid nix wenn ich im Kofferraum keinen Kinderwagen reinpacken kann.
Also ich muss Euch allen irgendwie recht geben. Wobei der GS als Sedan schon recht viel Platz hat. Leider kann man die Sitzreihe hinten nicht runterklappen. Aber Lexus ist definitiv nicht das Auto mit Platz, da muss man halt auf einen Toyota Corolla oder Rav 4 zurückgreifen. Natürlich ist der Vergleich auch nicht grade richtig, wenn man mit Kinderwagen etc. kommt, hat ein vergleichbarer BMW auch wenig Platz. Allerdings hat Lexus (leider) keinen Kombi mehr. Einen GS 450 Kombi, equivalent zum 5er BMW Kombi, mit Hybridantrieb, das wäre mein Traum gewesen.
@@letsdrivelexus1511 ich kann mit SUVs nichts anfangen. Selbst die Amerikanischen Marken haben alle Kombis eingestellt. Kein Dodge Magnum , Cadillac CTS Wagon oder Chrysler 300C. Vor allem der CTS gefällt mir gut. Als Kombi und 3.6 V6 wäre der definitiv eine Option. Schade das der 3.6 nicht im Insignia angeboten wird, für Australien und Nordamerika gibt's den ja und wird sogar in Rüsselsheim gebaut.

its funny because it stays at 6000 rpm obviously of cvt so its one gear, its a very underrated car honestly

what happens if you keep it floored untill the battery drains, will it loose power to regenerate the battery?
if you give infinitive thrust till the battery drains you dont have the accelleration power like before and the consumtion goes up.
then you have to chill and cruise with about 160 / 180 kmh, battery will be filled by engine and recuperation and then you can accelerate again as if stung by the tarantella

Bhakta Singh don‘t know exactly. on this car battery isn‘t replaced, i let check this every year and everything is ok. i have about 130‘000 km now. we had one defect on a ct200h after 250‘000 km, but toyota replaced the battery without costs for us cause we prolonged the warranty.
Here in the UK at least, if you keep up with servicing the battery has a 10 year warranty so this generation is covered until at least 2022.

Hi Marco, yea but i do not can explain exactly how. However, i try, the GS 450h is a Dual-Stage Hybrid, with 2 gears. you can "feel" it at about ~120 kmh, then i have a little drop. The Engine has 5 "virtual" gears. But all stuff are fully automated. i hope its ok, perhaps somebody can explain better.
It's a dual stage planetary gearset, effectively working like a CVT but without the power losses (especially at higher speeds). The staging seems to vary speeds but at full throttle it's about 60-70mph and you do notice a drop in RPMs although not really a significant acceleration loss unless you floor it as this happens I find.
WRT manually switching, it's actually got 6 simulated gears, although it'll only give you the 6th in Sport/Sport+ (using the paddles in D to go past D5 just takes you back to D). The gears don't hold revs when you push it so they're a bit odd, but if you put it in S1 and slowly accelerate up to about 40mph it will increase the revs. You can up/down shift under hard acceleration but it doesn't really do much (and it's slower when accelerating) so the "gears" are only really good to prepare to overtake or get more engine braking.
In a 30mph (roughly 50kph) speed limit where it then changes to a higher limit, put it in S1 at that speed and then floor it. It's like being hit in the back by a charging Rhino.

Tolles Auto keine Frage, Mein S19 Gs450h geht auf 200 besser. Das liegt glaube ich auch an der Atktison-Technik die auch im RX zum Einsatz kam.
Der Gs450h S19 hat genau den gleichen Antrieb wie der 2012er GS450h. Beide haben den Dualstage Hybrid, der Brenner läuft im Atkinson-Modus. Der einzige Unterschied, der "Neuere" ist auf 250kmh begrenzt und sie haben den Verbrauch optimiert. Das heisst, Du fährst mir mit Deinem S19 bei 250 davon. Schon ausprobiert, war lustig.
The only irritating things is that is using the manual gears, leave it in Auto, it's better and more quiet. Another thing, Cruise control doesn't work at that speed? If you stay constant you will waste less fuel, do more km and as said before it will be more quiet than keep accelerating in Manual.
The gears are in auto, if you pull the thrust with gear 2 or 5 doesnt matter, it will overtake automatically the gearcontrol to auto. what is about cruise control? i was driving with 200~250 kmh, with this speeds youre not cruising, this is racing. and btw, the video showing the accelleration and max speed of an Lexus GS450h, not the economic driving on a german autobahn with that.
Great vehicle, but with this transmission it just sounds so terrible to me :(

Leider versteht Toyota/Lexus nicht das die Leute in Europa keine 3 Autos wie die Amis haben.
Bei uns muss ein Auto alles können und da bringt der geilste V6/Hybrid nix wenn ich im Kofferraum keinen Kinderwagen reinpacken kann.

Also ich muss Euch allen irgendwie recht geben. Wobei der GS als Sedan schon recht viel Platz hat. Leider kann man die Sitzreihe hinten nicht runterklappen. Aber Lexus ist definitiv nicht das Auto mit Platz, da muss man halt auf einen Toyota Corolla oder Rav 4 zurückgreifen.
Natürlich ist der Vergleich auch nicht grade richtig, wenn man mit Kinderwagen etc. kommt, hat ein vergleichbarer BMW auch wenig Platz. Allerdings hat Lexus (leider) keinen Kombi mehr. Einen GS 450 Kombi, equivalent zum 5er BMW Kombi, mit Hybridantrieb, das wäre mein Traum gewesen.
@@letsdrivelexus1511 ich kann mit SUVs nichts anfangen. Selbst die Amerikanischen Marken haben alle Kombis eingestellt. Kein Dodge Magnum , Cadillac CTS Wagon oder Chrysler 300C.
Vor allem der CTS gefällt mir gut. Als Kombi und 3.6 V6 wäre der definitiv eine Option.
Schade das der 3.6 nicht im Insignia angeboten wird, für Australien und Nordamerika gibt's den ja und wird sogar in Rüsselsheim gebaut.
@@letsdrivelexus1511 ...Kombi´s fahren nur noch Deutsche ;-) .... auf der großen Weltbühne wo´s um richtig ABsatzzahlen geht fährt man Limo, SUV und Truck im Fuhrpark ;-) Die TEndenz ist ja auch in Deutschland so....Kombi´s sind genausolang wie große SUV´s aber Beladung und Ladehöhe ist unattraktiv gegenüber SUV oder gar Truck.

Den Corolla hab ich Probegefahren... Hammer Auto, aber eben zuwenig in der Höhe von wegen Platz. Mein Wunsch wäre es einen Prius+ mit der Motorisierung eines RAV 4 der neuesten Generation :-).
