I have been trying to get some friends to come to hike here, nobody is down, so I have decided to do it on my own, your video is very informative and helpful
You explain things well and I have been to Eastbourne and remembered the white cliffs . I also remembered the pebble beach and it was the first time I ever seen one because I live in Australia and most of our beaches have sand . Thank you for reminding me . Enjoy your hikes .
Thank you for this. I did my first solo hike today, well yesterday technically (Already 1am 31/10/19) and followed your path. Not an experienced hiker but I am learning and starting. This video really helped me to atleast get started by a bit of planning on my hike route. It was amazing as the video shows. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. I live in Eastbourne and was looking for tips on what route to take, this gives a great insite, I think I may do the walk this weekend. Cheers
Yeah! He is back and congratulations to your first solo hike! 🙂👍👏👏👏 4:10 this is so true! Tomorrow I want to start my next hiking trip and my friends and colleagues asked me, if I can send pictures and so - and my answer was: "Sorry guys, you know I`m in flight modus for this time." 🤫😉
Thanks Lenny, yeah it was pretty easy to find the way - it’s signposted the whole way and it’s quite a popular route so there are often other people around walking it. Hope you manage to get out and enjoy it!
@@JamesBTravel Thanks for the reply James, much appreciated. I will definitely do it though may wait until Autumn as my camera bag weighs a ton & I get so hot in the sun but these 66 year old legs aren't giving up yet. Look forward to checking out your other videos
I went hiking to seven sisters cliffs recently and it was good time hiking. This is must go place for hiking and just to spend some good time there. Good video man. Keep posting!
I went to beachy head a few days ago, it was roasting and towards the end was so bloody steep, I loved it though. It was also really busy too, I would love to have it all to myself as you did in this video.
Stunning videography and great narration, and the music was lovely. Would have liked to have known more about the length of your route and perhaps some footage of crossing the river towards the end of the journey. But overall a joy to watch and really well executed.
Thanks Nigel - I totally agree with you about the extra info. I ran out of time a bit at the end as I wanted to arrive in Seaford for sunset. I actually did the route again in the opposite direction in a later video and gave a bit more info about the length of the route and filmed the river crossing. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment - I really appreciate it.
glad I found this video man, been suffering mentally being stuck indoors working since lockdown. Hiked alot when i went travelling but never done it in the UK and was planning on driving down and doing this solo on Sunday. This videos sold it for me! Top work :)
Really stunning work James! One of the freshest travel films I’ve seen in ages. The cinematography and storytelling was top notch and I’m really impressed by the coverage you got with just your camera and the drone. Looking forward to seeing more!
Thank you, I really appreciate the lovely comment and the support! This was a pretty tough film to pull together as I lost so much footage to a dodgy mic, so glad to hear you liked it! 😊
Beautiful video mate! This was so relaxing. I haven't spent much time here on TH-cam so just catching up now...you've been churning out the videos and really improving! Great storytelling. It's nice to see when people don't abuse drone footage, but rather utilise it as just another way of telling the story. It works perfectly here because it's such an epic location. A location I've yet to visit!!! Really need to get down to this part of the UK asap. Keep up the good work and thanks for checking out my stuff :)
Thanks Josh, really appreciate the kind words and support! I actually filmed loads more talking to camera but the microphone was broken so I ended up having to scrap it, but I think it works better without it! The relaxing tone was exactly what I was going for. Looking forward to watching your videos from Oz 👍
@@JamesBTravel no worries mate! Haha I've had plenty of videos like that...microphones are so vital and so annoying. You nailed it though :) I'd love to do some solo hiking myself - it seems like a great way to get some head space and thinking time and you can really take your time to focus on all the shots and camerawork
Excellent video! I'm from Seaford, but have been living in China for 17 years, this makes me very homesick, but also very proud of my home coastline and countryside. I'm coming back in December for three weeks for Christmas and your winter hike has motivated me to do the same. By the way, the Belle Tout lighthouse has a French pronunciation, and the 'Tout' is pronounced 'too'. Fantastic video and keep up the excellent work, subscribed.
It took me about 6 hours, but I stopped a lot for filming and using my drone, so it should be doable in about 5 I think. Have fun, it’s an amazing hike!
Yes, it’s pretty straightforward and the path is well marked. The only time you’d need to leave the path is if it’s high tide at Cuckmere Haven, in which case you need to take a short detour inland to cross the river on the road - it’s a pretty clear detour though and there’s usually lots of people around - otherwise you’re hugging the coast the whole time. I think it’s perfect for a first solo walk 😊
Yes, I would say so. The path is clearly marked the whole way. Just make sure you stay away from the cliff edges as they have been known to collapse. Have a great time! 😊

I'm moving to Eastbourne in two weeks. I will certainly be doing this walk.
So lucky to have such an amazing walk on your doorstep! Good luck with the move buddy.
@@JamesBTravel Thank you. I'm planning my walk already and planning to film it.
Good Eastbourne is the best town
Great solo hike video. Those white cliffs really do stand out and you did a fantastic job of capturing there beauty. Really well done video.
James, just came across your channel! Thanks for sharing! Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words and the support!
I am doing this walk in a few weeks and this video shows how beautiful (and deadly) the south coast can be. Great video, and subbed
Really enjoyed this. Fantastic. Thank you.
Amazing, I was there 1 weeks ago..such a great feeling of peace and freedom

It’s one of my favourite walks! I actually went and did it again a couple of weeks ago! Enjoy 😊

Can you share with us your export settings and Lut you used?
Hey, I don’t use LUTs, just default camera settings and a few small tweaks in contrast and shadows 👍
Video is beautifully done. How long did the hike take?
Going to do this walk in early September.

@@JamesBTravel Watching this video is the reason why Ive decided to do it. Thanks for posting this hike & thanks also for the reply. ATB
You can get across the river at low tide at the beach end, it's amazingly shallow. Pronounced Cook Mere by the way.
Hi , is this path pretty straightforward in terms of navigation? I'm keen to do a solo walk . I just worry about getting lost

Whereabouts exactly did you start the hike from Eastbourne? Did you follow the Beachy Head Road? Thanks
Yes, started on the beachfront and followed the Beachy Head road.
@@JamesBTravel thank you!!
is it safe to hike alone? Planning to go there this week...
Yes, I would say so. The path is clearly marked the whole way. Just make sure you stay away from the cliff edges as they have been known to collapse. Have a great time! 😊
I mean safe from bad people? I ask my friends to come with me but they don't like hiking so I will be alone. Thank you so much for the reply.
Yes, you will be safe. A lot of people hike alone there.
Its not the highest cliff face in all of the UK, its the highest chalk cliff in the whole of the UK.
Eastbourne is the best
I'll be doing that in 2months on my charity walk
Amazing! Best of luck Pete!
@@JamesBTravel thanks fella. It's an open event, anyone can join. St Leonards on sea,18th may
