As cool as it is, on a first look I would not recognize this was a blaze. So what I mean is you didn't just redesign it, you made it a better concept. I mean... if the Blaze was a fire/wind elemental with flame daggers/katana's it would be 10x more epic. Also congrats on creating a FRICKING DAGGER KATANA! It's as much a katana as a dagger, idk if that's a thing already.

I know its a better looking blaze, but this could be the third boss. I call it the Kelus Guard. It spawns very rarely in a special room in nether fortresses made specifically for this boss. When you defeat it you get a heck-ton of XP and a pair of boots that have a specific enchantment that can only be obtained through this boss: flame walker. It's like frost walker but for lava. It turns the ground into temporary cobblestone, then breaks. You can put other enchantments on the boots such as mending and feather falling. They would have they're own disign and not just be iron boots or whatever. They'd be red with orange at the toes. Now back to the Kelus Gaurd itself. It has the same abilities as a blaze, just stronger. One of its "special moves" or whatever you want to call it is to turn parts of the floor into lava for a few seconds. Another would be to have fire pillars shoot from the ground underneath you. Both abilities would do much less damage if you already have the flame walker boots. I probably got carried away when writing this, but I love making custom mobs for Minecraft. Tell me if you liked it or if you even read this whole thing, and if you did, thanks!

Horrifying to me is like just looking at it gives you the chills, and scary is for it roaring at you, this is horrifying but it doesn’t gives you chills, it sets you on fire
Someone needs to make a texture pack with pixilated versions of all your redesigns. Even better if it’s a mod, cause then you can add animations and new attacks that match with the redesigns. Like endermen crouching or slouching down a bit when running, or having the blazes move around and circle you while trying to hit you with fireballs and flaming swords.
Honestly the Blaze is fucking terrifying. A swirling column of flame, ash, and death surrounded by a dozen flaming swords. Seriously when you hit them that make a clang noise like your sword is barely doing anything. Oh yeah they can also fly and shoot fireballs.
Reminds me of an ice elemental concept I came up with once, but instead of katanas it's very very sharp icicles. From what I recall the attack pattern would be it builds up icicles over time (they're not always there unlike a blaze's rods) and when it's got a bunch of em swirling around itself it would release them in a volley at you. It's actually very similiar to how WoW frost mages' icicles ended up working.

My favorite parts: the little fire symbol squiggly thing on it's head (specifically the one in the sketch, though the one in the final design is cool too!), the fire lashes, the fire bauble things in the chest and on the hilt of the katanas, the kanji written on (if I'm seeing it correctly) the paper - possibly some ceremonial covering? IDK - that's slowly burning off, the glowy, lava-ish looking bits on the sword, and the fact in the first place that you made the arms of the blaze (what I'm assuming makes up the blaze rods) be KATANAS, which is AWESOME!!! Also: The Blaze as a whole, but *especially* your awesome redesign, always reminded me of Marvel's Ghost Rider, for some reason (Specifically from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, the only incarnation I'm familiar with). this is my headcannon lol: the swords are normally super durable, but once the blaze dies they become incredibly hard like a diamond, making it so that they shatter and break more easily (harder doesn't mean more durable it means less bendable.) allowing for blaze powder to be made. blazes are mostly just arcane fire wirling around a magical core, this core is easily broken with a few arrows. any arrows that dont shoot the core directly but still hit the inferno around them will become charred and part of the inferno, but the arrowhead will remain intact and damage the blaze as the inferno whirlpools around the archane core dragging the arrow with it, eventualy hitting the core. the head also will take damage and if it gets destroyed so will the blaze.

The leading position in the symbiosis is occupied by spirits (the so-called "rods") continuously rotating around the main body of the blaze. Absorbing gas and magical energy from the environment, they transfer them to the plasma core in the center, which transforms them into flames. Also, thanks to the rotation, the spirits create a field controlling the flame, not allowing it to grow too much. Because of it, even in a completely gasless space, the blaze can exist for several days without any problems. It is due to this field that the blaze takes an allegedly humanoid form, although in fact it is not so: for example, its "head" is just a little stronger fire that broke out, as a result of the unevenness of the field.
