SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT with our Off-Grid SOLAR System

  • ONE CRITICAL STEP in our Off-Grid SOLAR System. The Off Grid Homestead continues!
    OK, I keep getting asked this same question over and over, and rather than continue to answer everyone individually I will put the answer here.
    Q: Won't those individual crank adjusters have to be cranked either in unison with 5 people or in small increments one after the other to keep from twisting your solar panel array?
    A: You can easily adjust the panels for the various seasons and it only takes one person. You crank 5-7 full turns then move on to the next one. When you get to the end you do another 5-7 turns on each and continue until you’re at the desired angle. This is how the manufacturer recommends doing it. It only takes us 5 minutes or so to change it from one season to the next and you only do this 4 times a year. It’s really no big deal.

      Norm, how would you rotate (position) each solar pilar if they are all connected together ? Wouldn’t each jack not allow the movement if the rest aren’t turned at the same time? Thanks for sharing your build.

      Daniel, it's pretty easy. You crank 5-7 turns then move to the next one. Remember, that moving the array from one season to the next is not a big change so it's really very easy. Takes maybe 5 minutes, 4 times a year to do alone.

    Are your panels dual face? If so, spread some gravel underneath for reflection and cut down on the mud. Also, how do they suggest turning 4 cranks at once to make the sun adjustments? Seems like turning 4 at different time would put the panels in a bind. Maybe 4 syncronized motors would be better. Like the kind on old satelite dishes.

    • @MountainBeaches
      @MountainBeaches  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes they are bi-facial We’ll probably add gravel next spring/summer.

    • @MountainBeaches
      @MountainBeaches  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@joycemarks3678 because you only crank it 5-7 turns then move on to the next one. You repeat this process until you've reached your final adjustment. It's easy and pretty quick. This is per the manufacturer.

    Hi norm an kim you asked me on last video how much power my solar made i couldn't remember but her are my stats to properly answer your question i have 150 monocrystaline solar panels at 550w they are fitted to 6 arreys that tilt and also swivels following the sun so 550w by 150 make 82.5 kw i also have a 5kw hydro system i built myself plus a 3kw wind turbine that makes up for the winter power as in November to end of February i only have a few hours of sun light and i can have my hydro and wind turbine working near 24hrs in winter all this gets connected to 30 batterys for power storage . That runs my house workshop 4 large greenhouses and 3 barns plus small sawmill on my 35 acres in scotland

      Correct. The manufacturer recommends 5-7 cranks and then moving to the next one. It sounds worse than it really is though since you don’t move it a lot when changing from one season to the next. I can do it by myself in about 5 minutes and it only needs to be done 4 times a year. Simple.

    There are You-tubers in Portugal who have a video about how they were lied to about off grid living. And about how much extra expenses that it takes just to keep their batteries charged. And then there is another TH-camrs in northern Idaho who are off grid also, and then they had to buy a big diesel powered generator just so they can keep there batteries charged. The climate change science was made by former Vice president Al Gore, who BTW does not have a science degree either, and neither does the majority of the people who are pushing global warming and climate change. Just think about this, when Al Gore had taken his climate change science to his former college professor, his professor had turned down Al Gore's climate change science, and Al Gore called him a senile old man. Even AOC the one who brought the green new deal does not have a science degree either, and neither does Greta Thunberg nor John Kerry and many more. So it won't be long before you are doing a video on how you were lied to about going off grid, and the climate change alarm and scare and scam and con and hoaks. Remember if there really was anything wrong with the environment and the planet. Then they would not have blown up the Nordstrom pipelines and started the wars. And then they would not be destroying the environment and the planet just to mine all of the minerals that is needed to build the solar system and then wind generators. The terms global warming and climate change are terms that is used to get control over the people and their natural resources. So they can force them to buy and sell and drive and eat what they want you to. So how do you like being controlled by the government officials who doesn't have a science degree? They are involved in a money laundering scheme that goes from the taxpayers pockets to their own bank accounts. They say that they are trying to save the planet, but from who? Well it is not from we the people of America. We should be saving the planet from them in Washington DC and the world Economic Form, and the United Nations. So it was AOC and her green new deal ( the inflation reduction act) that has caused the price gouging at the pump and the exorbitant food and supplies prices. And according to former Vice president Al Gore all of those Beach front properties should have been under water already. But every thing that Al Gore predicted has not come to pass either, and they are not going to come to pass either. Because Al Gore is a false prophet. And in the Bible the false prophets were stoned to death. Do you remember the children's story about chicken little and the boy who cried wolf? Well eventually people stopped believing what they were saying about the sky falling, and the wolf. If you really want to know what causes the storms. Then look up, they've daubed them with untempered mortar in the Bible in the book of Eze.22:28; Eze.13:6-16 they are caused by telling lies about God. See vv10-16.

    • @MountainBeaches
      @MountainBeaches  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Our decision to go solar has NOTHING to do with climate change or trying to be green as you assume. It has everything to do with being self reliant. It also has to do with the fact that the electric utilities do not run close to our property and the cost to have it run was BIG 💵. Thanks for watching.
