Gen 2 looks like a Ninja Turtle. I think they look good, but I could go either way. I did go with a Gen 3 though..heh!
Gen 3 all day. Love the front end and head lights more. I dig the cleaner look. Interior is also far superior in the gen 3. Gorgeous truck!

The lane keeping(centering) on the gen 3 with cruise on is 90% of what Tesla auto pilot is. I have a ‘21 37pp and a ‘16 Model X. I use the 1.5lb wrist weight on both to get rid of the steering wheel warning. The Raptor needs a little more attention than the Tesla to not lose track.

Exterior wise the Gen 2 looks a bit better, interior wise it's no comparison. You need to think to yourself "where do I spend the most time". Also the rear suspension is worth the upgrade.
Interior is new and updated, but I wouldn’t say it’s no comparison. With all that I’ve upgraded on my Raptor I rather keep it than upgrade to a Gen 3. The new rear suspension is really nice tho.
As a long time Ford fan, I’m disappointed that Ford gave up on improving the High output V6. For what these trucks cost, disappointing! I’m trading in my gen. 2 , and ordered a Ram TRX, because I feel like trying something different. Also, Fords interior looks pretty much the same in F150’s, F250’s, and so on… again, I need a refresh for the money i spend.

To the dyno & you may change your opinion. The Gen3 trucks have been dynoing WAY higher in the TQ dept stock, rated @ 510tq @ the crank right? Multiple examples of these Gen3 trucks dynoing over 510tq TO THE WHEELS. The engine is already nasty, just needs a tune to wake it up. Has forged crank/guts shared w/ the Ford GT- it can handle an extra 100hp/TQ easy no sweat. And you don’t need much more than that.
I agree to some extent. If you aren't happy with the power of your Gen 2, I would recommend installing an intercooler and doing a Stage 2 tune from Goosetuned. Since doing that my truck is completely different and can easily keep up with a TRX. If you use your truck offroad, the Gen 2/Gen 3 is much better offroad because it's not as heavy and easier to control and maneuver. Not to mention a much longer range for offroad use. The Gen 3 interior is also a pretty nice upgrade from the Gen 2!

This was a simple quick video but had a ton of real world driving experience point of view which is how we all actually use these trucks 98% of the time. I am looking forward to seeing the difference. I drove a 2014 Raptor from 8k miles to 156k miles. The truck was BULLET PROOF although it had a total off road miles of zero :). I traded it in on a 2020 Raptor (fully loaded, in Leadfoot gray) today it has 34k miles. This 2020 truck is better in every way other than the sound, it feels like a sports car by comparison. That 3rd generation in my opinion doesn’t look as aggressive as the 2nd generation because the hood is lifted to be more flat (similar to the TRX). I do like the larger marker lights. I do wish I could make my 2020 Sound like the 3rd Gen does. Obviously the TRX sounds better than both of them….
Great hearing that the driving experience gets even better with the 3rd generation but I will likely be driving this 2020 until it also has 150k miles on it. I own a custom home building company and write it off so maybe the next one will be the Raptor R 😎 but that could be wishful thinking.

@@fidellopez8558 I say no. Unless u get a killer trade offer and get a 2020 vs 17 or 18 which has more issues. I REGRET going from my gen 1 to gen 2, unless it's a wash trade in. Meaning your gen 1 trade However my gen 1 had a suoercharger!! So I recommend getting a supercharge and upgrading the interior. Else gen 3
@@donblade5405 thank you for your honest input , I now have 43k on my truck and still love it ! however I wouldn’t mind a newer one , I appreciate you responding I couldn’t agree with you more , make’s a lot of sense ! if I decide to get a newer one it will definitely be a Gen 3 , Gen 2 wouldn’t make sense unless I made an even trade . For now I will just keep enjoying my truck :)
@@fidellopez8558 if u want to add excitement. I would 💯 add a supercharger, new exhaust, and a TESLA STYLE radio. Prob cost you 15k for everything but your gen 1 will b envy for many gen 2... I have a 2019 with 25k upgrades. I do love the gen 3s but to trade my gen 2 for say 55 or 60 and then have to pay 80k plus ADM for same v6 eng. No way. .. I think aboit my gen 1 "supercharged often. However the gen 1 insides can't compare. U need the BIG RADIO. ..

Definitely want to see a race. Other TH-camrs insist that Ford has done something with the Gen3 3.5....they say it feels strong than the Gen2. I'd be curious to see how your tuned Gen2 fares against the 37 package Gen3.

I am curious your thoughts on the 37s with 4.10 gears. Concerns me the performance will not be as good as 35s with 4.10s. I would have thought Ford might have gone with 4.56s or something if you got the 37s.
So far I really can’t even tell that they’re 37s. They’re not much bigger than the 35s that I have on my Gen 2. They don’t seem to affect the power at all. Now I haven’t driven a Gen 3 with 35s, so maybe I’d think differently after driving one.

Is the shifting better? Or will this truck require trans tune from Goose if it was yours?
The shifting is great, but my truck was also great when it was new and got progressively worse over time. I assume with the same transmission, this truck will do the same.
Hit the dirt. I want to see if it rubs with the 37s when you bottom out. I would put 37” Toyo M/Ts on the Gen 3
They shouldn't rub. 37s fit a regular gen 3 no problem
@@Blue_Flame_Raptor maybe with the KO2 but a 13.5 37 Toyo MT is a bigger tire

Stock 37s won't rub. Moving to a 13.50 wide, those will for sure rub. If you go to 37s you have to stick to a 12.50.

Does your Gen 2 have wide fenders? and if so, What did you do to get your stance wider or did you at all mess with that and it looks fine?
No they’re stock fenders. I have 0 offset wheels which help give a more aggressive stance.
If I remember correctly the totally hands free will be a over the air update coming this year.
Yeah and I think it’s a subscription you have to pay for.

Is the Gen 3 worth the extra cash over a used Gen 2. I’m seeing gen 2 around 50k in my area but can’t get a Gen 3 lower then 70k on a base.
If the Gen 2 is stock I would say yes it's worth it. The Gen 3 rides a lot smoother with the new link suspension and the big screen on the interior is cool. But I've done so much to my Gen 2 that I don't think it's worth upgrading to the Gen 3 just to have a bigger screen. I love my Gen 2!
I’m in Utah, I can’t find a gen 3 for under a hundred grand lol… even a used gen 2 goes for 60 to 80k.. I just bought a 2020 raptor for 70k
@@Utahtruckguy damn that’s crazy. Figured it be easier to find to over there. I ended up ordering a 35” Gen3 high package with recaros seats before the price hike. Im looking at 76k plus a 5k Adm.

@@raptorsofinsta lol I was actually just out there for vaca few months back (ironically to do Raptor assault & also just vaca w/ wife hiking etc) & it’s just that its nothing like the heavy vegetation growth you see in the northeast, should be able to manage, but I guess when you get those dry stretches a lot of people might just say at “F it” too. BTW- I was in park city, Moab, Salt Lake City……I swear I may have seen your truck only b/c of the letters in the back glass.
