    Very informative video! I’d be happy to find this video if I had this bike lol. And you are right the bike lift looks almost exactly the same as mine. Also nice wave at the end hahaha

      Maxim Motorcycles thanks.....yeah it’s kind of for a niche audience. But, it was fun to make.

    Hi, thanks for the video which is extremely useful. How often or after how many kilometres we need to change the dct clutch oil and clutch oil filter? Thanks for the reply in advance

    I think you made a mistake when checking the oil level. I saw that the front end of the bike was strapped down. This causes the engine to tilt forward and indicate a wrong oil level on the dipstick. The bike should be on a level surface, resting on it’s wheels in an upright position without any straps that can indicate a wrong oil level for the engine.

    • @BRAMMOTO

      It was barely strapped down. No different than if you were in a not totally level driveway. But yes always good to be as level as possible.

    Great video. What torque wrench are you using? The DCT cover plate is 9 ft-lb, but all the torque wrenches I am finding don't go below 10 ft-lb. Thanks in advance.

      The wrench I am using is a cheap 3/8 one from Harbor Freight. If you have one that goes down to 10 ft-lb that should be fine.

    You are one cool dude!
    Really enjoyed the video!
    I know it's not rocket science but you made it even simpler!
    There is one thing that got me curious though. You mentioned the bike should be upright to check the oil. Is that DCT specific? Cause my manual's manual says to use the side stand.
    Thanks a lot for sharing!!!!

    • @BRAMMOTO
      @BRAMMOTO  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually I may have been wrong on the upright. I would go with what your manual says. The DCT and the non DCT share the main engine platform so the oil situation should be the same. I’ll check my manual tomorrow and let you know what mine says. I think they send the same manual for both versions. Thanks for subscribing and the comment.

    • @bruno84

      Actually, I am the one who's wrong!
      Oil is checked in the upright position!!
      I was mixing it with the chain tension check. Sorry about it!

    BRAMMOTO , 8000 miles - it number from manual or from your experience?

      Alexander Ivanov manual, I’m at 7000 miles now. Will be doing an oil change again over the winter. Thanks for watching.

    I got my bike washed today. I came back home and parked, after an hour or so I realized some black/dense oil drips under the bike. Then I realized that same vertical CRACK you have
    (time 2:13), brownish/bronze kinda block! What is that crack? What is that part called? Is it ok to have that crack there, seems like you don't care about it?

    • @BRAMMOTO
      @BRAMMOTO  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a joint between two sections of the engine case. It’s completely normal. There can be some seepage at the spot. Should not be enough to drip. I recommend taking off the skid plate clean everything with a degreaser and wait to see where the oil is coming from.

    If you do the first oil change yourself does this void the warranty? If not, can we use a different brand than Honda's?

    • @BRAMMOTO
      @BRAMMOTO  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t believe is has any effect on the warranty. As far as the brand of oil and filter, I don’t think that matters either. It would be a good idea to save receipts in case proof is asked for. And if you are very concerned, a call to the dealer would tell you for sure. I will probably use a k&n filter the next time. Hope this helps.

      @@BRAMMOTO I believe it does as all maintenance and service must be performed & documented (usually but the Honda dealership). My 2018 Africa Twin AS has to have maintenance & service done at the dealer for the life of the 5 year warranty or it is voided - according to the Honda care protection plan.

    8000 miles is only half true, you'll have to do it Annual because a lot of people don't drive 8000 miles a year... keep that in mind. Very well explained this movie, thank you.

    • @BRAMMOTO
      @BRAMMOTO  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I know the annual thing. But for me if the oil still looks good I’ll let it go a second year.
