The audience is to sympathize with protagonists, to make them feel things, and is encouraged to put themselves in the shoes of protagonists. The audience gets heavily invested this way... And then to kill off the protagonists in the end...?! What's the point of the story? Such stories effectively betray the emotions of the audience. It's like stories where the whole thing is a dream or everyone's memory is wiped. Why even bother watching? Glad I watched this recap instead of wasting my time watching the series!
