I had just downloaded the recording of this concert and was preparing to listen when I discovered your video. What a treat to watch the entire concert here live. Thanks for posting!! Wow! "St. Thomas" knocked me out! I already had deep appreciation for Kenny Drew and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, but really enjoyed Alvin Queen's performance here.
Kenny Drew and the Great Dane. Have a number of their albums on vinyl; so disappointed I never got to see either of them live. Thank you so much for posting!
Drew is instantly recognizable, superb bop feel. The moment at 2:52 is as good as it gets. Unbelievable bass lines by NHOP. All that's missing is LTD. Thanks for the upload!
@@jgrodnik Long Tall Dexter (Dexter Gordon). He, NHOP, and Drew collaborated in Copenhagen for over a decade and together developed much of the unique bop language you hear in this recording.
I bought this DVD when I lived in Singapore back in 2002... seems there are a few versions with different songs of this concert as I had already seen a video of them playing "You Don't Know What Love Is"... which I thought was stellar.
Thanks for posting but this is not the complete concert. Missing are "Bluesology", "You don't know what love is", "All Blues" (and may be other ones let unissued). Unfortunately, it happens to be his last issued recordings.
TH-cam algorithms know my flavour 🙌🙌🙌🙌❤️give me all the jazz
Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen the best double bass player of the world!

On a rainy Sunday night at the end of summer, listening to Kenny Drew, I cry … not sad just moved.
Mr. Kenny Drew is truly a master.

Masters at work…
A master class, superb musicianship
Marvelous concert! Probably the last trio by Kenny!
Azman S Yes, he died the same year if I remember correctly.
