    I have a ton of respect for people who just do stuff live and put themselves out there, it says a lot about a persons character, I am becoming a huge fan.appreciate the openness and honesty.keep up the great work.

    Oxford grey the Jaguar color, classic and original, good job Chad.

    • @geofo60
      @geofo60 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should be Opalescent Gunmetal,
      Jaguar Code JA007
      From 1959 - 1964
      They didn’t have an Oxford Grey that I can remember, they did follow up with an Opalescent Light Grey & a Silver Grey but that wasn’t until the mid 1960’s. I served my apprenticeship working on Jaguars 50+ years ago and it was common practice to use black, dark blue, dark green and burgundy as a base colour underneath their Opalescent colours as their metallic paints weren’t particularly good at covering evenly. Rolls Royce & Bentley used the same process for their metallics also. Plus using clear coat/laquer technology was a couple of decades away which was the reason so many early metallic paints faded or lost their shine & went “flat”.

    This series will definitely put a stamp on Bad Chad as a all around car guy. Hes a top notch metal man, an accomplished paint and body man and a true visionary that has a designers eye. I was shocked a ittle bit how he used the front fenders from a Volkswagen beetle on the Bugatti. That takes skill and experience to see that plus metal skills to make it look seamless. Jolene is very integral as well. I wish only the best for these two and for a happy sucessful future!!

      Jaguar used black, dark blue, green, burgundy underneath their early Opalescent colours as they were renowned for poor coverage. As did Rolls Royce & Bentley. This car was probably Opalescent Gunmetal JA007, when it left the factory. It was used from ‘59 - ‘64, then they changed over to the lighter shades. I served my apprenticeship working on them over 50 years ago.

    Joleen: why don’t you set up a paint mixing table in the corner of the paint booth.
    It would certainly stop all the in and out of the paint booth.
    It would also eliminate dust/dirt from entering the paint booth. Thus less dirt in the paint job.

What makes your painting as good or better using your technique? Have been in serious police trouble in my youth, I appreciate where you came from - but where you are is so far above me and most others it's great to see someone who 'Found God' if you will - as least I did.
