What's with the obsessions against red and socialism, and the admiration with anything regal and the badges ? The goal of a flag is to be instantly recognizable from afar. The founder of Türkiye abolished a 600+ years long kingdom based on religion and established a new state based on laicism (secularism), the absolut separation between state and religion (like France). Caliphate is slamic Vatican that existed since the birth of slam till the end of Ottoman empire. So, the establishment of Türkiye also meant the ending of 1300 years long slamic tradition. But you are talking about religion while commenting about Turkish flag and this is ridiculous and can not be taken seriously.
2. Crescent and moon was a symbol used by East Roman empire and Byzantine. After taking Istanbul, Ottomans called themselves as successors of Eastern Roman empire. So, there is no religious reasons by using this symbol. Before Ottomans no one described crescent as symbol of Islm.
It is interesting that both Turks and Hungarians have used this symbol, and that they both come from northern, central Asia.
What's with the obsessions against red and socialism, and the admiration with anything regal and the badges ? The goal of a flag is to be instantly recognizable from afar. Badges and intricate detail fail in this regard, when compared to simple designs such as tricolors or crosses.
Also, the Red Cross flag was inspired by the Swiss flag, not the other way around.
Just a traditional view of beauty and knowledge. Fusing with my opinion. Red was not traditionally considered beautiful if all encompassing - it was considered violent or lustful if too much of it was used.
That's not Ireland, it's Côte d'Ivoire.
No heads or dragons : if a five year old can't draw the flag decently then it's a no - go.
And Turkey is a European nation? I like the people but ..
Compare the flags of Chad and Romania.
Our Union flag, by a country mile...! 👍❤
It is eye catching.
You only like red and green because you are Welsh
Pesto pizza tastes good.
Wales has the best flag and the most epic national anthem!
Unfortunately, the German flag is not reproduced quite correctly, as the gold appears as yellow here.
😑
and switzerland ??
Wonderful country, but their flag looks like a first aid box.
@@BenLlywelyn oui mais ses dimensions sont assez exceptionnelles ,et ce n'est pas une raison pour zapper la suisse
The Sami flag looks it could be the next version of lgbtq plus flag lol
Almost.
Sápmi mentioned!
I like the Catalan flag.
The Russian flag was created from the Dutch flag with the colours rotated.
No, actually Serbian flag was created by rotating Russian flag.
Be nice.
Iceland have the most beautiful flag 🇮🇸
as a bosnian, i agree lol
Your political opinión of Catalonia is wrong
Opinion.
I downvoted this video. Because I took my time to post a message but it was deleted. You stole my minutes mister. Next time I will be more careful not to lose my minutes again by posting a message. I'm still your subscriber though. I find some videos interesting.
Thanks for watching.
But tricolores literally means three colors XD
Oui.
18:14 It's the other way round, Sardinia came first
Fascinating. Still, 1 head is better on a flag then 4.
@@BenLlywelyn nope, more drama, and a red cross. Definitely better the Sardinian
They most likely appeared around the same time actually. First depiction in a German manuscript of the 14th century, for both of them.
@@buineto It's way older than this, of course. When in 1281 Sardinia dell under the control of Crown of Aragon, the flag was officially added to their seals, but it wasn't created at that time, it was already used for generations.
Is your accent real? It sounds like an American accent with rolled r’s.
Yes.
Ben , diaes out evit ar baniel Breiz , kaeroc'h eget baniel Bro C'hall eo hon baniel , hag ar Kroaz Du eo ar baniel gwir deus Breiz , ma vefent dieub ! Saozneg : you are bad for the breton ( new) flag thats much prettier than the french one, and what about the real one ( black cross) when we were a nation ??
You are a nation, yes.
The Portuguese flag is not correct, the sphere or globe is totally wrong doesn't look like that! The correct flag looks even better then the incorrect example you used on the video.
Yes, too late now.
9:00 check out the various flags of subdivisions of Russia, Kamchatka Krai has volcanoes on its flag.
A flag with a volcano is cool.
How do you expect a video like that to get no hate XD
I don't!
Russia is not Europa. :)))...CROATIA is beauty and proud flag
Croatia has a nice flag.
well, our dear Gwenn Ha Du only tier 3, I won't unsubscribe 'cause I like your chronicles too much and that's true it's a bit too much a copy of the Stars & Stripes 😁. I'm sure we would had a better chance with the flag of our Northern province where I live actually : flag of Tregor😉

3 of those are in this video.
Székelyföld is Transylvania in English.
Yes, I did not use English.
Austrian flag is like the No Entry for vessels at certain points along the Danube.
This is very amusing.
The civilian flag wich was used here sure, the state flag with the eagle in the middle looks much better though, and the old flag is just beutifull
Tricoleurs - repetitive, samey and unoriginal.
Flags with heraldic content - too complex.
Asymmetric flags - "symmetry is beauty".
Any flag that explodes from the centre - most striking.
Symmetry is indeed beauty.
man hates red
Not always. Just when there is too much of it. Apples are tasty.
Syniad diddorol, Ben. Doeddwn i ddim yn nabod yr holl faneri, ond fy haen "A" yw fel y ganlyn:

In moderation.
@BenLlywelyn Well you know that cherry on top of every cake is red 🤔🐶🍒
Nice video, continue with good work 🍻
Thank you.
why do you like crosses on the flag of christian nations but not like the turkish symbol, also the turkish had that symbol before islam even adopted it lol.
Because the topic is European flags.. Turkey isn't in Europe
@@HarryFlashmanVC then why did he include
@LaggingGames probably because like many, that because East Thrace is in Europe somehow therefore this means the whole of Turkey is in Europe.
I value my heritage. And wish for peace in Europe in the coming century.
denmarks is the most original. its the oldest flag in the world
That is quite a claim to be fair.
Is this ASMR?
Pure ability.
Albania has the best flag.
The eagle thing is cool.
Hi from Catalunya, thank you for using that flag, I can't even use it on my icon for the hate from Spanish communities, what you did was very brave and us Catalans thank you for doing so.
You are welcome.
