Paper Mario: Master Quest - Crystal King EX

Two major changes to this fight from Vanilla. The first is that this now turns into a three-part fight. The first two times you get the Crystal King to 0HP, he'll automatically revive himself to 99HP. You have to defeat the Crystal King three separate times in order to win this fight. The other major change is that his ice breath, which he uses very frequently in Master Quest, hits both you and the partner, and will freeze Mario if not blocked, so the attack must be blocked twice to come out unscathed. The difficulty with blocking this attack is that the window for blocking the attack differs by a few frames each time, so a good amount of the time you will get hit by the attack and Mario will be out of commission for a few turns.
While Mario is frozen, I use the partner to help stall out the fight. I use Lakilester to Comfy Cloud and heal Mario to have him survive, and on occasion, I'll put up a Water Block to mitigate some damage. One of the true MVP badges in this fight is Star Gift, as it allows you to recover some decent Star Energy when frozen. Especially later on in the fight, I make sure I have enough Star Energy built up for Chill Out, so that the Crystal King becomes much weaker. I use Bow to go Outta Sight on some turns so that I'm guaranteed to not get frozen and get an attack in with Mario, without the risk of losing him for a few turns.
