Great of you, Jim.. I congratulate you for this work.. yes, you get tired... but when you return home and drink a cup of coffee, your nerves relax and you think that you have done something no more wonderful than what you are doing.😊 I wish you all the best of luck from my heart.❤😊❤
Welcome to XPD2. It’s a good unit. Deep too. Beach programs for moist salt sand, saturated sand and in the water. Most of the dry programs will work in dry sand. I would not use gold or relic in the dry sand. The others you can. Very stable. Most of the gold will be 40-67 on the vid. Nice vid.
I hunt kehena beach in Hawaii every week. It is a solid black sand beach. Using the Excalibur 2 and have very good results, but I would love to have a Deus2 to compare it to.
Volcanic black sands are mainly Basalt and not the same material as out magnetite filled black sands, my Excal doesn't work well on our black sands. I am waiting for conditions to be good for black sands again soon so I can test it with the Deus 2.
Jim, you’ve been my go-to 700/900 educator on the beach. This hurts me deep, lol. Not sure if the move is permanent, but if it is, good luck to you sir. I trust you’ll give fair assessments on comparisons at a later date.
No it is not permanent, they certainly made a great offer back in late September to make it permanent but my concern is that I have never used the machine and making the decision prior to even trying the machine would be a mistake. But their R&D department has been helping me customize my Deus 2 to handle the black sands and I am hoping the beach conditions change soon so I can hunt the black sand conditions again with the Deus 2 and try the programming out. I can only imagine what I miss in those highly mineralized black sands and XP is willing to help me and that is something Minelab has never done.
@@funwithjim Completely understand, Jim. As much as I love the machine, I have written their (Minelab’s) support twice and no response. Good luck in that black sand. Looking forward to see what you save.
So glad Halley is doing so much better. She seems to be happier. Bless her❤. You got a few treasure with the new metal detector, great job. My wydi guess is a pull tab. Have a blessed day and enjoy your life...
Just fyi Jim, the Scottish detectorist seems to know the deus really well and might have some good intelligence for u and or put u onto some...ik u will figure it out but quality intell is always a plus! Gl
Wow maybe they listened to my emails I sent them! They gave one to a guy here in Florida that barely finds anything and I wrote to them telling them if they wanted some exposure they should send you one! Lol
Glad to see you checking out that Deus II. It'll be interesting to see how it does on the heavy black sands and whether or not you find a sweet spot program that you decide to tweak and save into the machine for sunset beach. Glad Hailey was coming along well enough to switch to the soft bandage for support.
Always interesting to see how different machines sound and work differently. New learning challenges for sure. Awesome to see Haley still cruising along with all the great attention she's getting. I'd dig that crusty zinc penny. [wish the US Mint would choose a different metal that isn't so sacrificial... did they never hear of zincs on boats... and why???] Cheers!
Jim, First of all, that's great news about Haley! Now on to the Deus II. Nice to see you giving one a go. My buddies who I hunt with seldom dig hairpins at the beach so this may be a settings issue that you will no doubt master once you have more hours in on the machine. I think you will find the depth to be extraordinary. I'll be following along to see what you think of the Deus II, plus it's just fun in general to watch your hunts. Bill
If I upgrade detectors (and win the lottery), I would go with the Deus 2 for my next detector. I've heard that it is one of the lightest detectors to swing and the control box is totally detachable to make it even lighter. Important for those of us that are getting up there in years! For the wydi, I'm guessing gold ring because that seems to be what you have been finding a lot of lately. Unrelated to this video, do you and your beach buddies have any theories about why everyone finds so many cut pennies? Seems strange that you guys find so many. And it's nice to see Haley progressing nicely! Peace!!!
SABOTAGE, is what I think about the cut pennies. I still am playing with the Deus 2, waiting for better conditions so I can test it on the black sands. great answer, Thank you! 😎👍
No doubt that the XP Deus 2 is a capable machine. But I hope that you're only testing it, and that you'll go back to your Nox 900 for your ongoing videos. As an invested Minelab user, I follow your tones & VDI reading to learn. 😁
Right now the NOX is my go to machine, but XP wants me to try several things when we get the black sand conditions back on the beach so I will be using them both. I am in the process of adjusting my deus 2 into the same tones as my Nox. 5 Tones and with similar pitch on high mid and low tones.
@@funwithjim Looking forward to seeing you do all that. The sky is the limit if the machine has the ability to perform, the Deus II seems like from what I have seen to only be limited by the user.
Keep salt sensitivity at 9, and adjust the other sensitivity if you need to. Decreasing salt sens has the biggest depth reduction, even lowering it one point. I run mine at full tones, square tone. I disc out 0-10, because as you see, bobby pins hit at 8 or so. There is a gap between 10 - 25 where no targets hit at, which is awesome because tiny foil (and tiny gold) doesn't bleed into iron ranges in mineralization. Keep Silencer at 2, any lower and you will start to get Iron falsing as higher tones. You are going to like this machine, as you may have noticed, you don't get that crap that the Equinox/Manticore does where good targets are hitting as iron in high mineralization. CTX and Deus 2 have the most accurate target ID in the game right now, and I've used everything.
Been using my Deus 2 for about six months now. If you want the tone to sound more like your Equinox you can change it to “square “ and the sounds will be more familiar. Glad your companion is getting along better. We don’t have much iron at the beach here in Jacksonville so I run mine very hot. Sensitivity 95. I’m thinking that 28 sounds like a large junk earring.
I am sure you will figure it all out. You don’t need that cable unless you out it over 1’ under water. Also .71 update is the best for the the beach. The new we updates were for the dirt diggers and were less stable in saltwater. I use beach sens for everything it’s like beach low conductor for Minelab. You can turn the sens up pretty high on this machine. If you save the program while you have the big numbers it will always be on. Any adjustments you make can be saved under a program name unlike Minelab products. Don’t use allot of the filters it takes away from the machine and you will miss small gold. Silencer should be 0
I run bottle caps at 3. You might need to play with the silencer for the black sand. I just turn down the sens a bit. Less filters the better! The one thing you will like is you won’t have the strange sounds like iron when it is non Ferris like the NOX. Also play around with the pitch tones. I know it’s hard for the Nox guys who like the 5 tones. But pitch is designed to make small targets sound louder as well as the other setting that I am drawing a blank on. The ws6 master is semi water proof unlike the Minelab headphones. But the bone conductors are 100% water Proof! Great if you want to wear a big hat. But beware if you hit iron it will freak you out. That machine will have you digging quarters super deep! I am going to get my buddy to send you a holder for the pod! They like to fall off. He is rcdiggs look for his message.
Another great and informative video. You do great with any machine. I really appreciate your friendship. PM. 🏴☠️🙂
Thank You 👍 Have a great trip and be safe my friend, conditions have not gotten any better but I am hopeful a hot spot opens up soon.

I’m thinking about the Legend as my Nox 800 backup.

I bought a Deus 2 a few month ago, i just can't learn this machine, used it about 10 times now it's making dust in a closet, i bought a Manticore.
Both are great machines and you cannot go wrong with either one, but I will say the Manticore is much easier to use right out of the box. Thank You 👍
Sell it
Hey Jim , hugs for the baby girl she doing so so good ,,this weeks would you dig it is a bobby pin , i think,

I would dig it because I usually dig most things to help clean out junk. On my 900 that is usually a bent pull tab when I'm doing parks.
