    Hi Dr. Guichet, I've always considered leg lengthening surgery as an option in my life but I've always had concerns over my athletic ability following surgery. I compete in combative sports, and am an avid distance runner. How would this surgery affect my athleticism? Thank you.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Hi CF, From the data I gathered, at the end of the procedure patients usually loose a bit of muscular force compared to their initial force ( before starting the intensive pre-op training). Athletes are usually close to no loss at all. Patients also loose some flexibility. All of this can be recovered if you train and stretch appropriately. I just takes time and hard work to get back to the same athletic level. Some patients who were professional athletes even improved their results (one of them won the 'Tour of Britain' 2 years after surgery).

      Hi E.S., yes this is possible. 10 cm can be gained in one surgery and more through an additional surgery.

    Hello, I am a 20 year old male. I am 153cm, and would like to reach 160cm. When I was 10 years old, I had a surgery to lengthen both my achilles tendons as they were very tight and I kept walking on my toes and had extreme pains. I am still a bit stiff, but I have not had any more problems with my feet after the surgery. Do you think it would be possible for me to have the leg lengthning surgery, considering my tendons?

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi William, to answer your question I would need to take a look at your tendons. I would recommend that you come for a consultation in either Milan, IT or London, UK where I would give you a definitive answer. This would also be an opportunity to answer any additional question you may have. To do so please contact me at www.drguichet.com/contact/ and please indicate that we had a conversation on youtube so that my team an I can track back to this conversation.

    Hey doc, i'm 5'8". How taller can i get through this process without making my body look too out of proportion? Also, how does the limbs keep growing after the surgery? I don't see any mechanism attached to his legs to gradually increase the length

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Prem Chand Hi Prem, people generally don't look out of proportions even after a few inches of gain. This is because of a few factors. The main ones are that there is actually a big variance in leg lengths and that in our society people with longer legs appear more attractive (for example, look at some famous Italian statues and you'll see that the legs are often out of proportion). There is no mechanism outside his legs (aka. external fixators) because my technique uses the Guichet nail (www.drguichet.com/guichet-nail/) which I developed. The Guichet nail is a mechanical device which goes inside your bone (femur, tibia, humerus) and is the only device allowing full weight bearing and yielding little scars.

    Hello Dr. Guichet! Thank you for your videos. I I live in California and I am 4" 11 female . I I would like to be 5"7 , can I accomplish that height with one surgery? And also for the consultation would I need to be at your clinic, or is it something that can be done online prior to the procedure? please let me know more details on the type of procedure that you performed. I have done some research and so far your videos shows that I can get a quicker recovery and doesn't have to be bed-bound for 9 Months. please advise.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Truedelie, the consultation needs to be done at my office (Milan or London, UK) however, the X-rays and other tests may be done elsewhere. In general one surgery enables to gain approx. 2"3/4. at once. The surgery could be repeated to get safely as close as possible to your desired height. The procedure that I developped is unique as it follows an intensive physical training, cutting-edge medical follow-up and uses the surgical techology I developped (the Guichet Nail). This make the procedure much more demanding than the 'bed-bound' ones but enables a really fast recovery. Please take a look at my website at www.drguichet.com/ to learn more about the procedure and do not hesitate to contact me with any further questions.

    Hi Dr. Guichet,
    I'd be very grateful if you were able to respond to my comments.
    I'm somewhere in between 5'9/5'10" and would like the LL surgery in the future to become at least 6' (although preferably 6'2").
    I exercise and am very consistent. I'm very strong for my age and size. I researched within your website that you encourage your patients to first develop a strong lower body in order to proceed and heal properly post-surgery.
    My legs for my height are fairly big and strong. I'd really like to push past the 10cm mark in terms of height gain.
    My questions are as follow:
    Will I be able to go from 5'9" to 6'2" (or 12cm gain), and can this be done in one surgery?
    Also, from my understanding of human physiology and that height and bone size play a part in the amount of muscle one can gain; how does whole body muscle mass correlate with the increase in height?
    I understand my legs would become longer because of breakage and repair, but as I'd be taller, would I then be able to gain more muscle across my body because of this?
    It makes sense that I'd be able to gain more lean mass on my lower body because of the increase in bone size, although just by my thoughts - every other bone in the body would stay the same in size(?), therefore I would not be able to gain more muscle mass across my body despite the increase in height.
    If you are able, could you please clarify this?
    Thank you in advance,
    Tommy

      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      Hi Tuff, 12 cm is of course feasible (one of my patient got 18 cm in 2 surgeries), but not in 1 surgery. After lengthening, muscles divide and grow in proportion of the relative gain, and over time, weight adjust consequently.

    Hey, I'm 19 years old, I'm 5"6 and I have a lot of questions about this. Could I grow to 5"9 or 5"10? Also for how long would I be unable to go back to my normal life? and also can I work out after I completely heal, meaning heavy weights with my legs and upper body? (I'm a bodybuilder) And also how is the payment handled and how does it work for people in the US? and last question how much would it be? I really hope you can answer these questions because I'm determined and decided to get this surgery once I have all the money.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Terrorsab, you would be able to grow up to 5"9 in one surgery as long as it is safe. You would be able to walk soon after the surgery. Gentle sports can be performed while you grow and full sport activity can be recovered once your bone fused. In your case, you would still be able to work normally on your upper body and more lightly on your lower body. We could discuss in more detail during a consultation what specific movements would be possible such that you could keep your shape. Bodybuilders usually perform well with the surgery. The payment is preferably performed through bank transfer so it wouldn't be complicated at all from the US or anywhere in the world. As for the cost, I do not disclose it on the internet but I would provide you with an approximation if you email me at info@drguichet.com - and do not hesitate to include any additional question.

    Hello Dr. Guichet, can I ask how long patient muset keep the nail in the leg? Do you remove it immediately after the bone is healed? And what happens after you remove it? Can you walk? And what happens with the inside of the bone when there is not the nail anymore? And can I have this even if my legs are bowed? Can this correct my legs?
    Thank you. :)

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Barb, the patents can keep their nails as long as they wish but patients usually keep their nails for one and a half year. The lengthening of your femurs happen over the first two months. One the nail is removed the bone marrow will fill the empty space as it was initially. And of course you will be able to walk when nail is removed. Patients usually come for 2/3 days in order to get their nails removed and go home right after. Bowed legs can be corrected as well, you can see examples at the following link www.drguichet.com/genu-varumvalgum/.

      Thank you for information! I am really glad I found this method, previously I had leg correction surgery but the results were painful and not good at all and I couldn't walk for 6 months, plus it took another months and months to get my flexibility and to function normally again.. and then another leg and another reaaally long time. So I am very glad I found your method! I hope we will meet soon!

    Hi Dr.Guichet , I am 5'10 , been doing sports for all my life and would love to gain 2 inches in 1month , is it possible? And can I pay with payments over 8 years? I want to do it asap.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hi DirtyDogTV, the current growth rate is of around 1.2" per month and this speed is mostly limited by the rate of growth of the nerve cords. Overall, it would take you approximatively 1 month of pre-op training + ~2 months of post-op lengthening to gain 2 inches. This seems slow but the average male child takes on average 2"/year until they end growth - that is with our procedure you would be gaining 1 year of full growth in only 2 months! As for the payments we only accept full payment for the procedure before the surgery. Many patients say after the surgery was the best decision of their life. Many patients save over years before performing the procedure, this enables them to really reflect on what gaining height would mean for them and also enables them to gain the required motivation to succeed over this challenging procedure. If you believe the surgery would have a direct impact on your life and do not wish to save over time, it may also be worth to find a financing solution with you bank or else.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Shaun Bridges C Hi Shaun, growth for males is usually over after 17y/o unless if you have a special medical condition. If you want to be sure about this, you should go see your family doctor which would do a full assessment on the matter. As for the cost it depends on many criterions (pre-op training needed, housing options, post-op options, location, and more). Please contact me at www.drguichet.com/contact/ to have a more in depth discussion so I can better understand you needs and give you an initial approximation of the cost. As for a consultation or surgery I fly very often between London and Milan (follow-up, surgeries, consultations, etc.)

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +thrailermaster Hi, going from 163 cm to 175 cm would require 2 operations (the max being 18cm of gain with 2 femoral lengthening). To determine if you can do the surgery you would need to come for an initial consultation (consultation + medical tests). The price for 2 surgeries depends highly on your results from the first one. That is if you perform very well on the first surgery, you may go home during the second surgery which would significantly reduce the cost. Please contact me at www.drguichet.com/contact/ to have a more in depth discussion. This would help me to give you an approx. of the prices involved as well as for you to learn more about the procedure.

    Dr Guichet,
    I know the recovery is 3 to 6 month. I work as a nurse in hospital, which involves lots of walking. I wonder when I could go back to work after I have the surgery?How long does it take for the patient totally resume daily activities?

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Xjun, patients often go home and resume their daily work life a few days after the bone fused. Since you would be walking and performing sports daily during the procedure, going back to work should be too much of a problem. You legs may feel a bit more rigid as you would have lost a bit of flexibility but if you stretch and follow my team's recommendation you could recover fully soon after.

    Hello there Dr, I currently stand at 168-170cm and I'm thinking in getting a limb lengthening surgery. I have some questions though:
    1. How old do I have to be to get the surgery?
    2. What is the tallest I can get with 1 surgery?
    3. What is the max height I can reach with a surgery?
    4. Where are you located?
    5. How long will it take to recover and will sports and walking feel the same or will it have some difference?
    7. Will people notice my arm length?
    6. And finally of course, how much money will one surgery be?
    Thank you in advance!

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Seb, there is no age requirements. Usually, the surgery is performed once growth stopped (~17 yo for men). The tallest you can get in one surgery is of around 10cm. Coming to a consultation would allow me to review your biological parameters and determine if this is attainable. Any height can be achieved with repeated surgeries as long as this can be performed safely. The only variable is time as your body needs to adjust to your new hight each time. I am located in both London, UK and Milan in Italy. It usually takes one full year to recover but patients who were doing sports prior to the surgery often experience much shorter recovery times. Once your bone is fully fused and your flexibility recovered there is no difference as prior to the surgery. People tend not to notice the difference in proportions. As a matter of fact there is naturally big variation in proportions (look in the streets and you'll see that many people have various proportion without us noticing it). As for the price I do not disclose it online but I would enjoy providing you with a quote. To do so please contact me at www.drguichet.com/contact/. If you have any additional questions do not hesitate to contact me or refer to my website: www.drguichet.com.

      Hi Zein, This is possible. I however recommend to gain as much height with your femur and then see, in a second time increase the length of you tibia. The tibia is a much weaker bone which heals over a much longer period of time. Do not hesitate to contact me with any additional questions and/or to book a consultation at info@drguichet.com.

    Hello dr. Guichet,
    I've been checking your website for more info and I would like to know if is it possible to increase the length of both tibia and femur to achieve a total of 15-17cm? I read that you can't have both surgeries at the same time because of skin issues.. Could u please specify the waiting period required between the two operations? Could both procedures be completed in just one year!? Thank you for your time.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Juatine, yes this is absolutely possible. I usually recommend gaining as much height as possible on the femur. This is because the tibia is a much weaker bone and heals many times slower than the femur. Patients usually prefer to wait until they are fully recovered or ready to do the next surgery. Gaining 15-17 cm would require at least 2 surgeries or more if you prefer to take your time. I usually wait that the bone is fully fused and that the flexibility is recovered before performing the next surgery which would make difficult to gain 15-17 cm in a year. If you wish to meet current patients and to determine possible timeframe I would recommend to come for a consultation.

In fact, are their any medal parts left in your body after the procedure? Even with the internal ones many other countries do?

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening

      Hi Nick, after a couple months the scare become barely visible. You can find pictures here: www.drguichet.com/post-operative/ section the scars. Visually your legs will look as proportionate as before. Actually longer legs are often found more attractive. You can for instance look at the statues or on magazine adds, the legs are often out of proportions. Once the procedure is over and the nail remove there is no part left inside your bone.

      Thanks. Longer legs are attractive in some other countries. Here in the US, I'm not sure. I'm 5'5 and would like to be 5'9. However, I don't think that it would look nice with my torso. I don't want to have a "daddy long legs" look, and a small abdomen. I have seen individuals get up a quite a few inches and they look great though.

      Hi Marco, thank you for your support! Unfortunately I do not have planned to commercialize the nail in the short/medium term. I am currently focused on improving our London and Italy centres as well as improving the nail's technology. Once we would have met our objectives commercializing the nail would become a viable option. If you happen to perform a leg lengthening surgery in Philippines or elsewhere, the most import element is to carefully selecting your surgeon more than the technology. If you would like to discuss about performing the surgery with myself do not hesitate to contact me at www.drguichet.com/contact/. We would discuss in more detail your options to perform the surgery in the future.

      Hi Luca, the tibia is much harder to lengthen than the femur as it is a much narrower (weaker) bone and because it doesn't heal as fast. I recommend not performing a surgery on the Tibia unless this is absolutely necessary.

      Hi Mikanell, the procedure which you're talking about is called external fixation invented 60 years ago. The technique I am using is the one which I invented during my medical residency. The nail which allows my patients to get taller is called the Guichet Nail and can go inside the femur, humerus and tibia. In addition to the technological advance offered by the nail you would follow a custom made and intensive training and follow-up program . You can learn more about the technology at www.drguichet.com/guichet-nail/ and please contact me if you have additional questions.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andrea, you would be able to gain 10 cm in one surgery as long as it can be done safely depending on your body parameters. Usually patients come for one full month of preoperative training in one of our partner FIFA excellence centres in either London or Milan. After the surgery you would stay approximatively 3-4 months at a rate of approx. 1 cm per 10 days. Once you reached your desired height you can go home and resume your regular activities. Most patients come between 1-2 years after bone fusion to get the nail removed and go home the same or next day. Once your bone is fused your it will have the same strength as before. As for the cost, I do not disclose it on the internet but I would provide you with an approximation if you contact me at www.drguichet.com/contact/ - and do not hesitate to include any additional question.

      Hi Florence, This highly depends on the patient. Some patients will walk without crutches a few weeks after the surgery while some feel safer walking with them. Most patients walk normally at the end of the procedure when the bone is fused. Gaining 6" is feasible as well.

  • @ralphjones5835
    @ralphjones5835 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dr. Guichet, I notice it is mentioned that patients should develop lower body strength for best results. Are there any specific exercises or plans you recommend to improve leg strength? And how can I test legs to make sure i'm in required shape? Thanks, Greetings from USA.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ralph, the exercises used aim to increase the global strength of your entire leg. Usually we benchmark your leg strength by performing a Cybex test and then working from the results to meet the required parameters. Generally the training happens over one month prior to the surgery in one of our partner FIFA excellence centre in either London or Milan. Patients train together and the exercises are customized to each of them so they have the best chance of success. The best result are always attained when our patients come train with our specialized staff. However, if it is essential for you to train in the US, we could discuss this in more detail by email at info@drguichet.com.

    Does it hurt at all? I know the leg heightening procedure with the wires on the legs hurts like hell.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Gustavo, The pain depends from patient to patient but it is much lower than the external fixators one (wires). The pain depends mostly on how well you follow our recommendations (physical training & medical drugs ). Over the past years I have focused a lot of my time on analyzing the sources of pain and as a result developed the 'hyper fast track' recovery method. To date many patients tell me that they almost felt no pain while taking few or even no pain killers.

      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      +Angel Wins Hi Angel, the procedure costs around the same price but our approaches are very different. This surgery is considered a heavy surgery and thus requires expert knowledge - not just any orthopaedic surgeon. It is an investment over a whole lifetime. To put the price in contrast for this price you could buy a new Mercedes or BMW which you would keep for 6+ years. Most patients will tell you that this surgery is the best decision in their life - if you’re curious I would recommend coming for a consultation and then meeting with the current patients.
      Here’s why my approach is unique compared to other surgeons: - My price is all inclusive (without food and transports). That is, we will take care of your housing, implant, training/physiotherapy, follow-up and all other elements involved with your surgery. - I have developed the fastest recovery method in the world (‘Hyper Fast Track’) where patients perform sports on the day of the surgery- You will not pay a premium in function of the nail you pick as I only use the nail I designed, the Guichet Nail- The Guichet Nail is the only nail allowing you to have full weight bearing and to walk normally during the procedure - this patient just came out of the surgery and already partially walks + bikes 1h after- I can be reached anytime during the day by phone or email- You can gain up to 10cm (4”) with one surgery and more with repeated surgeries- I will sign on my statistics
      If you're really motivated, it is fine to save for a few years before doing it. This will help you mature the decision and make sure you will receive the best care available.

      Dr Guichet I've actually been saving for a while for limb lengthening along with a few more extreme cosmetic procedures. I will be getting it done either way once I save a little more, it's simply a matter of where I decide to go to get it done.
      I'm from the US and only speak English, would someone like me have any trouble traveling to get it done with you? And is there any sort of way to get financing on the surgery cost?

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Angel Wins My medical teams are fluent in english. As for the day to day life, patient's haven't found it to be too much of a problem. There is of course a learning curve but with the current technologies (google maps, translate etc.) getting used to Milan or London isn't a problem. As for the cost I do not offer financing assistance for the surgery. I understand that the price may be a delicate matter but I would highly recommend for you to visit a few doctors before making any decision. This is a heavy procedure, you should analyse all the info they would give you such that you could make the best choice. If you need to have a more personal conversation about the surgery or just to gather additional infos you can reach me at www.drguichet.com/contact/

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ali, your daily routine will be split in 8 hours. Approximatively each 8 hours you would have to ratchet the nail. This is the movement which allows the nail to increase your height. Each day you would also have to go to the gym to train with the physio team and other patients. You would be kept busy but because the procedure is mentally demanding, I always recommend that you have a family member or friend with you throughout the procedure. Please contact me at www.drguichet.com/contact such that I can better understand your situation and see how we could find a way to make this work for you.

      +R Martino Hi R, There is no minimum height increase. The most common gain among patients is 6cm (~2.5in) but you can aim for much more. The main limits are how well you prepared, your motivation and if you can get to your targeted height safely within your time-frame.

For instance you can find a very complete explanation of the process made by one of my patient at www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=3422.msg52041#msg52041. There are a few other forums around there where you could gather info about my patients experiences. I must remind that those websites are not tightly moderates and that the comments made by people may not necessarily be true. The best way to be sure about an info is to ask me directly as I am legally responsible for what I write in my emails.

Thanks so much

      Hi Nathan, first thank you for trusting the care that my team and I provide to our patients. To answer your questions: you would normally be able to walk within one or two weeks after surgery. As for housing, this is up to you. We offer as a service to find for you the most appropriate housing for the surgery. We would present you a few different options according to your budget. But you can also find your own place if you wish. Gaining 10 cm is feasible as well. As for the price please contact me at www.drguichet.com/contact such that I can give you a price range and more informations.

      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Khaled, Yes you could do so in one surgery. If you follow correctly all my team's recommendations the surgery do not yield any long term health effects. This surgery is considered a complex surgery and of course can yield complications. I have developed over my entire career a process which is called "Hyper Fast Track" where my team and I are able to achieve the fasted lengthening rate and have the lowest complication rate among other international teams. I will sign on my statistics. However the main variable is your motivation and how well you follow our recommendations. We do not accept each person enquiring about the surgery and only propose our services to the people we feel can succeed in this journey.

      Hi Neelima, you can correct your leg length through the use of external fixators and nails. I do not recommend to use external fixators as it often yields nasty results but it is nonetheless much more affordable. I do offer my services to correct leg discrepancies such as in your case. You can learn more about the results at the following link: www.drguichet.com/unilateral-discrepancy/. Overall you would follow the same procedure as any other patient except that you would only lengthen one leg.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening

      Hi Ibrahim, gaining 7" would be feasible in two surgeries. In your case, people usually do not notice a disproportion. You can take a look on my website at patients post-lengthening at www.drguichet.com. If you would like to have a better idea you could come for a consultation and meet some patients currently doing the surgery. I could advise you when to come such that you would meet patients which would have gained around 7 or more inches. As for the the age, there is no safe age -I had one patient in his early 60's! The most important factor are your health and your motivation. Do not hesitate to contact me for any additional questions at www.drguichet.com/contact/.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, gaining 10 cm is possible as long as you follow exactly the pre-op and post-op training. The recovery after the surgery takes usually between 3-6 months. The recovery time after the nail removal is of a couple days and patients go home the day after the surgery. The scare are fairly thin and small. They are noticeable only if you look closely on the leg and tend to disappear over time. The pictures on the website (www.drguichet.com/post-operative/ - section scars) show you what they would look like). Overall people do not notice them on the patients. Please contact info@drguichet.com such that Dr. Guichet can better understand your needs and give you an approximation of the price.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening

      Hi Florence, the tibia is much harder to lengthen than the femur as it is a much narrower (weaker) bone and because it doesn't heal as fast. I recommend not performing a surgery on the Tibia unless this is absolutely necessary. The complications are the same as for the femur except that there is an increased probability to have them. You may find a page about the complications at the following link: www.drguichet.com/procedure-risks/.

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brad, there is no limit above which it is really more dangerous or less. It's rather the matter of the taller you wish to become the longer you will have to keep your tibia unfused. This means that you will be prone to complications over a longer period of time. Overall the tibia is much harder to lengthen than the femur and thus I only perform the surgery on the tibia if this is an absolute necessity.

    Hi, I'm 20 and 5'10 (average height for European males) my dream height would be 6'2-6'3...i have a few questions..
    1) how long would I have to keep any foreign objects (the nail etc) in my body
    2) you mention that patients are able to walk normally after a short period of time, I've heard of other procedures taking 6 months for the patient to fully recover..what's the secret to this one?
    3) once everything is healed, will my bones be normal? if another doctor did an x-ray would he find abnormalities? or will it look healthy and normal?
    thank you so much :)

    • @Drguichet-limb-lengthening
      @Drguichet-limb-lengthening  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robert, If you want to gain 5" this would require 2 surgeries as each nails has a range of growth of ~4" max. On average, a patient willing to perform repeated surgeries will get the 2 surgeries done at least each one year apart. At a gains of 1.2" per month you would be lengthening with the two nail sets over approx. 4 months total. After you finished lengthening the nail, the bone fuses within the next days but patients usually keep them for another year. The nail is chemically neutral so it isn't a problem if it says within the bone over a prolonged period of time.
      2) My patients are able to walk the same day of the surgery or soon after because of a few key elements:
      - A complete and intense pre-op training where patients train daily in one of our partner Isokinetic FIFA excellence centre coached by our physiotherapists.
      - The Guichet Nail enables full weight bearing which isn't the case of the other currently commercialized nails
      - Daily post-op training with the same physiotherapists.
      - And the know-how I developed throughout my career. All current patients follow the 'hyper-fast track' procedure which my team and I developed. It currently enables the fastest recovery rates and lowest complication statistics.
      3) Once the nail is removed your bone will fuse and recover it initial strength and health. X-rays would show that you have more bone over the lengthened region (your bone would actually be stronger over this region) - which is similar to a healed fracture.

      Hi Cesar, You would need to perform 2 surgeries. One for around 3 in to 3.5 in and another one to get to 6in. The procedure is divided in 3 steps: the pre-op preparation 1month, the post-op lengthening period and the full bone fusion period. In you case this would take around 3 months. So gaining 3 inches would take approx. 4 month and healing around 6 months (at home) after this. If you wish to perform a second surgery and if you followed all our recommendations you may be able to go home as soon as the post op-period. As a US citizen do not need a visa up to 3 month stay. You would need an extension for which I would sponsor you. Currently due to the exchange rate between USD and GBP I believe my prices are cheaper than in the US. However keep in mind that this surgery is extremely complex and that carefully selecting your surgeon and defining safe height goals is much more important than saving a few thousand dollars.

      +Dep Mom Hi Dep, You should plan to stay for at least one full day. The consultation is around 1h-1h30. After this you will be given the opportunity to visit the FIFA excellence training facilities and meet with current patients. But first things first, if you're considering booking a consultation, you need to contact me through my website at www.drguichet.com/contact/. This will set a record and will allow me to have a more in depth conversation with you.
