Get guinea-fowl, about 20 of them. They are deadly on ticks, they eat them, also they are pretty effective at keeping snakes away due to their endless chatter and patrolling around the grass. And they are low maintenance as they do not need a coop, they sleep up the tallest nearby tree. And are delicious. You will lose the odd one to foxes and you will never find their eggs, but so worth it for the tick control.🇦🇺

It's starting to look good guys!! Great job!! Don't forget to dig and set up a root seller!! It's going to make a huge difference in the fall for storage, also you'll be able to grow more next year! Root sellers are wonderful things to have!!! We use to live in Idaho it's a beautiful and wonderful place to live it's also very cold!! The seller when dug deep enough helps to keep food and other things pretty consistent temp year round!! There's another you tuber that lived in Oregon then moved to Alaska!! I highly recommend you check them out!! They are doing a lot of the same thing as you

Keep in mind if you store hay on top, you get mice too close to your living area. Hay gives of moisture, if it’s hitting the steel at the end wall it will run down behind wood and create rotting or smelling wood. Just thinking out loud. Love the videos and working together part👍

I am not a builder and have NO experience in that sort of thing AT ALL but I just want to say what an amazing job you both did. It must have been exhausting for you both. That wood looked so heavy, and going up and down those ladders would have really hurt after a while. I bet you had sore legs the next day, you poor things. I love your videos and your plans. I have watched about have of your vlogs and I learn a lot. I just watched the video on your house plans and I love what you want to do except one item. You mentioned several times about sliding glass doors. As a home inspector I was always warning about the heat loss that they produce. They may start out fine but the seals do not last. I know you do a lot of home work on what you want but the manufactures tend to exaggerate how sealed these doors are. On insulating your barn, and house for that matter, one fact that usually does not get highlighted is that foam insulation makes the structure twice as strong. The foam glues every surface together giving it twice the strength.

That tiny house will make a good place for the kids to hang out when they get older, like high school or college older.

I would have built or bought scaffolds for the front & back walls to save trips up the ladders. I'm thinking like an old guy, trying to minimize climbing.

I would have laid all the joists flat in one hit and worked from them up there. That's the easy option.

... But since they'll be building the house after this the sensible option would be to buy 2 rolling aluminum mini-scaffolds. Relatively small outlay and reselling once done with them will see prob 50-70% of the cost back. But I'd keep at least one set for general tasks around the property.

You know I just love how good Melissa works as a laborer, great job lady, the timbers look great in place. I can't wait to see it all finished. Maybe a happy dance once the flooring is down. lol
