Thanks for the video, I just painted over carpet glue on a patio. The glue was probably 50 years old and it was like a full layer of rubber and impossible to get up without heavy machinery. It turned out pretty good and we'll see how it holds up. I figure if it peels it won't be that hard to repaint or touch up. I'm going to put a polycrylic top coat on it to help with durability.
The paint really helped with the tackiness of the glue, and after two coats it turned out great. It just looks like I painted over rough flooring. However, the glue is still a bit pliable. As I have been working on stuff, if I stand too long in one spot, especially if I pivot on the ball of my foot, the glue moves and then there is a break in the paint. It may not have been the best choice, and I may have had more faith in the process than what happened in real, but in the end, even with the flaws, it worked out pretty well.
I ended up doing two coats. There were some spots where the glue was thick and broke through the paint when I stood on the spot too long, but I ended up putting down a thin sheet of plastic where the mats went, in case the glue stuck to the mats.

I’m working on an office space now, so this video is very helpful. Thank you.
I'm glad you found this helpful.
It's been two years, how has it held up?
Do you think is neccessary if I mop the floor and wait for dry, then apply the paint?
How did it turn out in the morning?
Can you tell in person that you painted over glue?

How are you able to paint that fast with the music going?
I’m working on an office space now with the same problem so this video is very helpful. Thank you.
If you layer it heavy enough, it should be fine, right
