    nothing new but about time. the earth is expanding and contracting 1 meter per day. what a pressure and energy source would this be!

    The only problem would be if the music isn't that good and doesn't make us move.

    Those dutch sure know how to do it (kind of justifies happy hardcore, doesn't it?). I sort of remember having a conversation with a friend about piezoelectricity back before any of us even knew the term actually existed (let alone the technology). She wanted to buy up a bunch of old Nintendo power pads and splice them together to create a power producing dancefloor. How should I go about macgyvering together a working prototype like this?

    this is basically a prototype in action:
    watch?v=RCOBA3Yfm1k&feature=related
    it's mindblowing the places we can find energy, even more so the advances in technology to utilize wasted energy... it's a lot to take in for sure

    How much embedded energy (from building the system) versus how much output? It strikes me as a gimmick.

    probably if you have a full house you can generate enogh energy, but it would have a step generator...
    I think if you have people dancing in rithm you would have much amplitude but low frequency, but who developed this probably know what he is doing

    Weighing costs against benefits is important. If that concern makes Chriswaterguy "sound like a republican", then he is representing the republicans well.

    LOL ... to generate piezo-effect it only needs to move a fraction of milimeter

    This is the recovery of energy that would otherwise go to waste. If they were normal floors, the vibrations would have absorbed into the floor and into the foundation. If there was a cheap and easy way to recover all wasted energy/heat the world would be so much better off. Cars put out waste heat through their radiators; light bulbs (even CFLs) put out wasted heat. So no, this isn't free energy...

  • @punkrocksknot
    @punkrocksknot 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    too bad you need a LOT of vibration to power something like a night club.

    The last example is stupid. The tram needs more energy to drive, because the rail will giving way, if it is made of piezzo elements. Knowing that you will waste energy at every conversion you make, it is an stupid example.
    Indeed the first example is a good one.
