Watch it again, and you might catch a few goofs in there. Henrik has four hands on his fake double necked bass and is doing the splits at the end ;) …
It has this epic anthem feel. So well written and such a catchy chorus, but still the most fire playing and music writing by all three of them.

Yeah, I think many how watch this video the first time feels "wooh, overwhelming". I certainly did. I do like it a lot! It is also so nice to see your sort of baffled reaction! Nice that you only commented on the music and their skills, and that they have earned them the hard way. Very true! I guess you did see the extra pair of arms/hands on the double base, and Henriks leg split? Good and honest reaction!
These guys are awesome and never fail to bring the mastery of their instruments. You're right about that 80s sound.

Always a lot of fun seeing someone discovering Dirty Loops for the first time and have their mind blown. And if you countinue down this rabbit hole, I'm sure you'll soon realise that them delivering unexpected stuff is, for them, the norm. :D
Dirty Loops is a Swedish band, based in Stockholm, and they started the group as a hobby project in 2008, and never thought it would be anything other than that. In 2010 they put up a video on youtube (a cover of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance"), as a booking reference, to see if they could get a gig or two, just for fun, as they thought their music was way too unsexy for anyone to actually like it. Needless to say, they were completely wrong. The video went viral and a LOT of people absolutely loved it. Just about everything they've ever released is of this ridiculous musical quality, so if you consider checking out more of them, you could basically pick anything, and you more than likely won't be disappointed. And believe it or not, they are just as stupidly good live. My personal favourite is one of their more jazz fusion-y pieces, "Work Shit Out".
They've all known each other and played together for 20+ years by now, in their late thirties. Jonah (keyboard/vocals) and Henrik (bass) even went to music elementary school together and met when Henrik was 11 and Jonah was 9. Aron (drums) comes from another part of Sweden and came along when he moved to Stockholm at the age of 16, to attend the same music high school as they did (he was in the year between the other two). Then they all attended Kungliga Musikhögskolan (Royal College of Music) in Stockholm, where Henrik and Aron studied jazz/rock, and Jonah opted for music production (iirc) as his main subject.
You Hit the spot Bro, I think this music is divine!! Not just because I ´m a swede cheering for my countrymen (as if that was important in anyway), but this is epic and insane what they do with their music and their talent. You said: „It gives you a good feeling, like when you were a kid…“ Exactly! There are no boundries in their music and it makes you feel free in the sence of beeing a child aproaching this sound and genius. I ´m just thankful I live now and may enjoy this incredible great music and divine artistery that they, without any imagemaking more than any other unknown averidge band, deliver, playing in smaller Clubs around the world, staying the same interesting and down-to-Earth humble people like you and me, but have artistic Auras like gods and never getting tired of creating more music for us deadly people. Let´s hope this band goes on forever!
