    These maintenance vids are great, I essentially sourced my entire build so far from GMBN.
    Cheers Neil!

    Wow, you're the first one that actually has this solution on TH-cam. I was searching all afternoon for this. This magnetic grabber. Just perfect man.

    i have some tips that were usefull to me. Firstly route the cable and then attach it to dropper post and put it in frame and then cut cable housing on the other end where your remote lever is. much simpler and you don't need to mark cable housing as the post is already in and you see the lenght you need

    If you don’t want the collar to drop, suggest using making tape to make a lip on the cable. Also I could not get the actuator to turn with pliers, so I used the blue plug instead. The perfect tool since it’s designed to fit. Glad GMBN updated this tip. Anyone else getting a little bit of creep up despite tightening the barrel adjuster?

    Can we have a video for external routed dropper posts please. I fitted mine today and it was a pain in the ass to find the correct cable routing.

    • @audiotestchanneltm
      @audiotestchanneltm 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me it was easy like when you install the cable housing for a derailleur, when measuring the housing, just have the dropper post all the way up.

    • @stuartcarson9378
      @stuartcarson9378 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      IN1VISIBLE3.- I couldn't adjust the cable length on my post and it was too short one way and too long another.

    • @jamesbutler606
      @jamesbutler606 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's how they are, get it so it's just right at full extension and then when it's lowered it'll sag down where you guide it (providing you have a KS style cable outer guide)

    This vid helped me pick a dropper post as well as install it. The tip about routing a string with a vacuum then route the out cable was brilliant. Unfortunately I failed to heed a warning about the collar and also lost it down my seat tube. 😂

    Actually, the reason why didn't work on the first attempt was because at 5:24 (th-cam.com/video/rzW1dePW1KY/w-d-xo.html) Neil didn't align the arrow with the marker. ;)

    I'm confused, instead of all this measuring can't you theoretically just insert the dropper with the cable and cable housing already ran through the bike and connected to the dropper, set it at the proper height for the way you ride , then pull the slack out at the top then just pull the cable tight and secure it at the lever?

      Sucks. I keep riding even during the winter, but not an awful lot. Depending on the weather about 0-4 times a week and do short rides only. Usually less than 300km a month. All to keep fit for the prime season. I can't imagine what it's like to know you won't be able to ride at all.

    Why not just push the cable housing from the front back up the seat tube, then route the cable through, like how they do in the Crank Bros Highline or Fox Transfer official install videos. Looks much easier.

    hello can you help me, I have a 2015 Scott Genius 740, on my seatpost that is syncross it says 31.6mm and 400mm, what is the 400mm mean. Will I have a problem if I get this Brand-X Ascend Dropper Seatpost, that has a diameter of 31.6 mm and a length 120mm and a size 410mm? thank you

  • @matthewfryer5723

    Looking for some advice please. Just purchased the Haibike fullseven 5.0, mail order from Cycle Republic. When it arrived in no way could I move the seat. Took the bike to Halfords where a couple of us managed to remove it. The most the post will go into the seat tube is 140mm, does that sound about right? When I put a broom handle down which is about 28mm it goes in over 200mm. When you look inside the post tube you can see like the tubes are not aligned and it's created a lip inside so the post can't go down any further.

    Just got me a Giant Contact Dropperpost. Is it normal that when I push the button, I still need to give the saddle a jerk for it to go down after staying for a while, then after that, it goes down after each push of the button without any problem? but when it's been inactive for a while, it kinda seize up and need to be given a jerk for it to compress, otherwise it comes back up and every other thing is fine. Maybe I am not just used to dropperpost, but guys, is this normal?

    Great bike , rides smooth th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L I added a bigger spring loaded seat to it . Takes a bit of adjusting cables to get brakes and shifting to perfect . I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing
