Hi Paul, thanks for the videos - I find them very helpful. I noticed you use emails(and the email templates) a lot - do you use the Campaign feature and send out emails with a more visual look (rather than just copy). What is the difference between a copy-style email and a visual email - Thanks and all the best
Thanks. I don't use Campaigns in Pipedrive because I'm already using ConvertKit and my automations are more complex. I guess the copy emails look more personal as they are coming from your actual Gmail or Microsoft. Whereas the campaigns are more of a marketing/branded email.
When you do a group email (or simply use an email template), the emails are sent from your own email account; 1 at a time, I think 30 seconds apart. That way it makes it look like you sent it directly to all the people (NOT IN BULK), avoiding most SPAM filters. The Campaign feature goes through the Pipedrive backend, not your own email account. All the things we worry about as marketers about SPAM detection are important here; it's pretty well the same as Mailchimp or any other mass mailing platform. My experience is that the group email/templates converts better as a sales tool. I can get 30% clicks and 60% opens on a group in Pipedrive; in Mailchimp I'm lucky to get 10% opens and 5% for clicks would be at the top end of that performance. I can't speak to the funnel automations on the Campaign, I suspect it's much better than Group email.
When you send a group email to several people. Can the people you send to see that it is a "mass email" that you have sent? So that there are several e-mail addresses or similar in the recipient field?
In the example in the video the emails are being sent via ConvertKit which is my preferred marketing platform. But you're right, you could use Pipedrive automation as well.
I'm a customer and a fan. And while your pipedrive consult was valuable, your Bonjoro recommendation was not. I don't know whether they're paying you, but the Chrome extension is broken (record screen vanishes when [record] is hit, so that you can't see what you are recording. Spoke with Johann at Bonjoro and he says this is a known issue, but there's no resolution date. Thumbnail picking is iffy. And the thumbnail embed doesn't work. Wasted two hours of my team's time with this.
Hi David, thanks for the comment. I'm aware of the Chrome issue (I made this video before the Chrome issue began and no, they're not paying me) and since the issue started, I haven't used Bonjoro either. It's a real shame as it was working well.
As a new user of Pipedrive, I found tips most helpful, thank you
Thanks, I'm glad this was useful Steve!

No, they'll just see their email so it looks like you emailed them one-on-one.
Why use zapier for email automation when we could just use Pipedrive native automation?

Can attachments be included with email templates?
Yes 👍
Don’t they see you doing the whiteboard thing at the start? Or do you cut that out.
I am holding the whiteboard up when I click record so it's all ready to go when the camera starts rolling.
