Because if so, it sounds like you are just another desperate, irrational, illogical prohibitionist then just using the "no home grow" as a lame excuse/scapegoat to try to convince Floridians to vote no and continue the complete illegality of cannabis in place.Any form of legalization of the possession of cannabis (even without home grow) naturally, logically, and rationally absolutely sure beats the heck out of the continued complete prohibition of cannabis under which cannabis possession remains a serious crime. Wouldn't you agree with this? If not, can you please explain to all the readers here in great detail exactly why you feel that the continued prohibition of cannabis and criminalization of people who posses and use cannabis is somehow better for citizens just because there is no home growing in the proposed bill?
Decriminalization and legalization two totally different things look up legalization in Illinois if you think everyone who opposing doesn't know what they talking about
Cannabis consumers deserve and demand equal rights and protections under our laws that are currently afforded to the drinkers of far more harmful, dangerous and deadly, yet perfectly legal, widely accepted, endlessly advertised and even glorified as an All American pastime, alcohol. Plain and simple! What we certainly don't need are anymore people who feel justified in appointing themselves to be self-deputized morality police. We are very capable of choosing for ourselves if we want to consume cannabis, a far less dangerous choice over alcohol, and we definitely don't need anyone dictating how we should live our own lives. We can't just lock up everyone who does things prohibitionists don't personally approve of.
Amendment 3 translation: Do you want to become the next zombieland and also give the corporations that pour big $ to add this amendment to fill their pockets even more -- yes or no.
I'm voting no. I don't have an issue with Marijuana. It is legal in Florida' with a medical card you can get everywhere with no resistance. There is NO benefit to to the people of Florida to make it legal for ANYONE to smoke EVERYWHERE when they please. This will be a mistake if it passes. It's a NO for me.
Florida's Amendment 3, which seeks to legalize recreational marijuana use, has been met with both support and opposition. I disagree with this amendment, as legalizing recreational marijuana could lead to several negative consequences in terms of public health, safety, and societal impact. 1. Public Health Risks One of the most significant concerns is the potential impact on public health, particularly for younger populations. Research has shown that marijuana use, especially during adolescence, can lead to impaired cognitive development, memory issues, and even mental health disorders like anxiety and depression. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) reports that marijuana use can interfere with brain development, particularly in individuals under the age of 25, when the brain is still maturing. In states where recreational marijuana has been legalized, like Colorado, there has been an increase in marijuana-related emergency room visits and hospitalizations due to issues such as overconsumption and marijuana-related psychosising recreational marijuana in Florida could similarly lead to an increase in health-related issues, which would put a strain on the state's healthcare system. 2. Impact on Road Safety Another critical issue is the potential impact on road safety. Studies show that marijuana impairs motor skills, reaction time, and judgment, making it dangerous to drive under the influence. In states where recreational marijuana has been legalized, there has been a marked increase in marijuana-impaired driving accidents and fatalities. A report from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) found that states like Colorado, Oregon, and Washington saw an increase in car crash rates by as much as 6% following legalization of recreational marijuana . In Flre tourism and travel are key industries, any increase in drug-impaired driving could have severe repercussions, not only endangering residents but also tourists who contribute to the state's economy. 3. Marijuana's Gateway Potential Though often contested, some argue that marijuana can serve as a gateway drug, leading individuals to experiment with more dangerous substances. While not everyone who uses marijuana goes on to use harder drugs, studies have shown that marijuana users are more likely than non-users to develop a substance use disorder with other drugs like opioids . Florida is alrg a major opioid crisis, and the legalization of recreational marijuana could exacerbate this issue. By increasing access to marijuana, there is a risk that vulnerable individuals might be pushed toward experimenting with more harmful substances, worsening the state's drug addiction problems. 4. Economic Costs vs. Benefits Proponents of Amendment 3 argue that the state will benefit economically through marijuana taxation, but this overlooks the potential costs of legalization. While states like California and Colorado have generated tax revenue from marijuana sales, they have also faced significant costs associated with increased public health needs, law enforcement to combat illegal marijuana markets, and regulatory measures. In Colorado, for example, while marijuana sales exceeded $1 billion in 2020, the state also reported increased costs related to regulating the industry, dealing with illegal grows, and addressing marijuana-related public health issues. These hidden costs often undermine the economic benefits promised by legalization. Florida could face similar economic challenges, which may outweigh the revenue gains from legalization . 5. **Social Equity Lastly, legalization has not always produced the social equity outcomes proponents have promised. In many states, legalization has not necessarily reduced arrest rates for minority communities. In fact, African Americans and Latinos continue to be disproportionately arrested for marijuana-related offenses, even in states where the drug is legal . This suggests that legalization mully address the criminal justice disparities related to marijuana, and other reforms might be necessary before considering recreational legalization in Florida. Conclusion While Amendment 3 might seem appealing due to its potential economic benefits and promises of personal freedom, the negative consequences far outweigh the positives. Public health risks, road safety concerns, the potential for marijuana as a gateway drug, and economic costs are substantial reasons why this amendment should not be approved. Florida should proceed with caution before following the path of other states that have seen unintended consequences after legalizing recreational marijuana.

If the amendment banned public(outside, bars, clubs, etc.) smoking of cannabis and taxing sales at 90%, I would vote for it. I see nothing in the amendment on the ballot as presented on doing that so its a no vote. Cannabis smoke triggers my Tachycardia so, for me at least, its a medical issue.
Marijuana should only be used as a medicine under the care of a knowledgeable doctor. Trulieve spent $100 million dollars for this amendment. Do corporations in America have people’s best interest?
You know if this passes you sign up, you will lose your license to drive better listen to the Sheriff. Medical marijuana and Florida driving laws Keep in mind that a Florida medical marijuana card is only valid in Florida. Marijuana remains a controlled substance under federal law. A medical marijuana card will not protect you from prosecution if you transport medical marijuana across state lines. It also does not protect you in an airport or other location where federal law applies. Plus, you will lose your gun rights. You better study before you sign up. it's a trade for your rights.
Wow I have never seen one comment get so much wrong. Florida already has medical. It's linked to your driver's license so it obviously does not take your driving privileges away. It just makes you a juicier target for Sheriff Judd's officers to stop and harass. If anything passing this amendment will get you off a list, not on one. Transporting marijuana across state lines or taking it on airplanes will be illegal regardless of this amendment, so how was that relevant? Perhaps one might consider waiting until one is sober to rant about things they know nothing about. Considering the drunken rambling in this comment, I sincerely hope you do not use your guns in the same careless manner you use words.
Florida already has medical. It does not prevent you from having a driver's license. In fact, they are tied together, so passing this amendment will get you off a list not on one. Ironically, passing this amendment will allow people to ditch the medical cards keeping them from passing a federal background check to buy a gun. Perhaps the advice one should be giving is alcohol and posting on social media do not mix well.

Cannabis should be treated as any other medication. If a person needs it, let their dr decide. I have lived in several states where it's legalized. There are several ways that communities deteriorate from it being legalized. It has a strong, negative effect on many people's mental health. I'm with Grady. That DRUG should be kept off the streets.
Or you just want me to choose between suffering from my medical issues and my legal right to own a gun. You want to force me to have a medical card tied to my driver's license so your buddy Grady and his officers can harass me. Force me to pay an auto insurance premium higher than people my age with a clean driving record.
@karmab4391 nail your hand to your forehead, you poor unfortunate soul. You can get medical if you need it that badly. And yes, if you choose to get high on any drug because you can't cope with day to day life, you shouldn't own a gun or drive a car.

Is anybody else besides slimy, desperate prohibitionists who have always been adamantly opposed to cannabis legalization who come one here posing and masquerading around as otherwise advocates seriously suggesting that just because there is no home growing in the amendment that you prefer to continue keeping cannabis possession and use completely illegal with possession continuing to be a serious crime and to continue criminalizing millions of Floridians over cannabis?

But it's okay to drink? Might as well make alcohol illegal as well
Florida's Amendment 3, which seeks to legalize recreational marijuana use, has been met with both support and opposition. I disagree with this amendment, as legalizing recreational marijuana could lead to several negative consequences in terms of public health, safety, and societal impact.
1. Public Health Risks
One of the most significant concerns is the potential impact on public health, particularly for younger populations.
2. Impact on Road Safety
Another critical issue is the potential impact on road safety.
3. Marijuana's Gateway Potential
Though often contested, some argue that marijuana can serve as a gateway drug, leading individuals to experiment with more dangerous substances.
Benefits
Proponents of Amendment 3 argue that the state will benefit economically through marijuana taxation, but this overlooks the potential costs of legalization.
5. **Social Equity
Lastly, legalization has not always produced the social equity outcomes proponents have promised.
Conclusion
While Amendment 3 might seem appealing due to its potential economic benefits and promises of personal freedom, the negative consequences far outweigh the positives. Public health risks, road safety concerns, the potential for marijuana as a gateway drug, and economic costs are substantial reasons why this amendment should not be approved. Florida should proceed with caution before following the path of other states that have seen unintended consequences after legalizing recreational marijuana.
Hey buddy. Alcohol/cigarettes are much MUCH worse for you than weed. How about you just let people enjoy a drug which is safe for people
Prohibition and Reefer Madness are only pushed and believed by a very small, lunatic-fringe minority of irrational looney-tune Holier Than Thou types that are on a never ending little personal moral-crusade and witch-hunt against relatively benign cannabis and it's consumers. The rest of us sane, rational, normal Americans just laugh our butts off at and mock utterly desperate lying prohibitionists and their ridiculous Reefer-Madness-Rhetoric as the comedy show they truly are!
..

Medical marijuana and Florida driving laws
Keep in mind that a Florida medical marijuana card is only valid in Florida.
Stop your Propaganda Madness.

Or maybe you think I am a sinner who deserves to suffer.
