NHDES and NH Fire Marshal Launch Statewide Firefighting Foam Take Back Program

NHDES and the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal launched the statewide effort to collect Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF), firefighting foam that is made with harmful per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), from New Hampshire fire departments, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, with presentations from NHDES Commissioner Bob Scott, Department of Safety Commissioner Bob Quinn, Fire Marshal Sean Toomey, Manchester-Regional Airport Director of Aviation Ted Kitchens, and Revive Environmental CEO David Trueba.
