Thanks for posting, great to watch just before going to bed, calming, and I will dream of cycling again in Germany Belgium and the Netherlands. Hope you tried the Bitburg beer!
Many thanks for posting this, it looks a perfect route and you presented it very nicely. We were in Rotterdam last November and we didn't know about the tunnel ... we'll have to go back and do the whole route.
Nice video and a lot of ferries haha if you took the Moerdijkbrug from Dordrecht you would finish in Breda and that would be the most beautifal city you will ever see and no ferries at all lol Oh greetz from Breda ;p
Leuke roadtrip. Veel pontjes, waarschijnlijk de bedoeling. Miste soms de plaatsnamen bij de grotere plaatsen wasr doorheen gereden werd. 14 dagen trip?👌
A question please. If you did this again would you do it in the same direction and why did you choose anticlockwise? I love this route and will give it a punt with my wife next September as it appears to have plenty of camping and food options (my wife is gluten free which makes quieter routes like EV6 that I have just completed solo rather difficult)
I'm not sure there was a reason for the direction at the time and having done it, I can't think of any now - it really doesn't matter for this one. There would be a fair hill to climb out of Trier if you did it clockwise but that's the only thing I can think of.
One day perhaps I’ll watch on of these lovely trips WITHOUT the muzak. There’s no need to have it all the way through. Some narration about the journey would be so much better.
Actually, I agree. I've watched this video a couple of times now, basically because I intend to do a similar loop this summer. The filming is superb but the music detracts from it. I get lots more pleasure from watching narrated videos where the people comment as they go. It doesn't have to be recorded live during the ride - I'm sure LOTS of footage was discarded in the making, so knowing in advance when to narrate would be almost impossible - but an occasional bit about the wheres and whys would have been SO much more informative.
Hi, in 4 months im doing a very similar loop rout from the same port and coming back along the rhine, what was the cost of camping in Switzerland? thanks
We joined the Rhine at Koblenz so weren't in Switzerland on that trip. I recall from a previous trip (2016) that it was a little more expensive than home but not too crazy (cheaper than Denmark). Look out for canoe clubs in Germany - no frills cheap camping at many of them.
We travelled with our own tent and camped in official campsites. The route is on Komoot in 3 sections titled Meuse, Moselle and Rhine: www.komoot.com/tour/1258688232?ref=wtd&share_token=azEJ6eyD75p6w8eGW7URG3GUAcgqaRwdKl5Yaw44KOcORJ3oGL
Just discovered this. It’s lovely and gives me some new inspiration for our subsequent trip. Thank you.

Coming from a country where sharing any road with cars is tantamount to suicide......this is wonderful to watch.
The Eurovelo routes really are fantastic, especially the river ones.
Same in the U.K. drivers attitudes to cyclists needs to change

How would this route work for a road bike with some skinny tires? Great video btw !
Most of it is on tarmac so probably ok actually.
Congrats for the trip, thanks for sharing.
I want to do the same trip with my wife, any tips to share?
It was a great route, I'd definitely recommend it. Perhaps avoid August when it will be very busy.
superbe tour ! Pouvez vous communiquer les villes étapes ?
Ijmuiden, Hook of Holland, Venlo, Maastricht, Trier, Koblenz, Bonn, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Arnhem, Utrecht.

@@bike_spokes Thank you for responding, thats sold it to me, although I am yet to find a hill I couldn’t walk up my preference is avoidance 🙂

Lovely trip. Where did you stay, ie camp or other? Also, do you have a GPS route, like on RidesWithGPS etc? Thanks.

Enjoyed that 👍 How many days was your trip?
18 Days, roughly 50 miles per day
Why bring along a helmet when you're not going to wear it... ?
