This is beautiful chant. I am so sorry that this film was overlooked at the oscars. It had so many nominations and this was one of them. Congratulations to everyone who worked on it. Your stories will be told!!
Indigenous music always gives me chills, but this song made me cry uncontrollably. I hope it takes the Oscar. Its about time our country started celebrating the TRUE People of this land! Will you be at the Gathering in April? See you there...
Beautiful and powerful song. Thank you for representing our culture in a positive and strong way. I was disappointed in the results of the Oscars. Was hoping Lillie would get best actress. Blessings to all the Osage people.
Proud to hear the song and to see the singers. I wish we would be allowed to be as pure as we once were. Watching the singers in suits hurts my eyes. Love the song.
Thanks for this and the elders and ancestors blessings. I hope Hollywood can do more. Stories like this. FIRST NATIONS THANK you for hosting us ON your lands. Hope to get to a pow wow soon. Stuck in Europe under R colonialism for noe
Arohanui my Native American siblings! Your music, your community, your spirit empowers me. I cannot wait to see more Native representation from your community on the world stage, and to see reparations made on your land! Kia Kaha ❤
Simply amazing, beautiful song, amazing story, makes me very, very proud to be an Indian. Words cannot explain the feeling, God made me who I am, and for this I say, "Thank-you Great Spirit".
5:56. Allie my friend you and the others were fantastic. I love it you are keeping the old traditions alive. Cant wait to see you one of these days so we can catch up and hear all about this experience.
@@allietoineeta918 I cranked up my TV and felt the pain and let the tears roll....and let my stomach heave in and out with emotion and reverence. thank you for sharing this part of your culture with the world and for a personal spiritual awakening experience last night.
I learned the word from the movie. I wish I could understand everything 😢 so many stories that haven't been heard by everyone. I think everyone, especially in America should be required to learn extensively about the indigenous, their culture & history. My heart breaks for all the injustices. We should all be honoring & learning the truth
@@alanleiker1742 There are many videos of this performance now. The name in English is "Song for My People" and in their Osage language. Ask them if you're so interested. If you live in America (I don't) you should ask/contact their local community. It could be a curse given the story.
They are not cursing anyone. This sing is about feeling positive and thanking Mother Earth and Creator for keeping the Indigenous peoples culture alive and thriving. Now being heard around the world.

What are they saying tho
You obviously don't need to know if you don't get the spirit of the haunting drums sounding their curse to you. Ask the performers if you must.
@@LizBond-oq2hg Well, I hope they aren't cursing me, I've never done anything to them.

@@RonJacksonToahani Oh good you did some research. Difference between the meaning of curse and cursing (swearing).
