Le Chevalier was truly great. Maybe he was ahead of his time in many ways but that in itself makes him great for our time. We are starting to discover him.
Then why is Mozart's music is so much greater? More complex more emotive? Remember Mozart was taught violin by his father who had written a popular book on violin technique. Also Mozart was a Germanic composer that didn't love the French styles of Classical music. So no, Mozart is a way greater composer in every aspect.
