I love the look of junipers as bonsai. I started three of them last year but all died over winter. All my deciduous survived the winter just fine, so I don't know what exactly I did wrong. I'll buy a couple and try again soon! :)
What would you recommend? I live in the Netherlands and my Juniper needs a styling and wiring. We are close to winter. Shall i wait or do the styling now. It's a very healthy tree.
What is the potential for growth of this tree over time? This will always be a smaller tree? If you desire a larger tree, you need to start with larger material?
Honestly, if we would do this rather high (I'd say 95%). But for beginners this will be different and so we absolutely advise not to do it all in once. Even if the tree survives, you'll still make faster progress by taking it step by step!
In my opinion, that is the perfect little tree.
I really like how you showed multiple steps of this project. Not just the initial styling. Great job!
Glad you liked it!
I think this is one of the best videos you have uploaded. Great quality 🤌🏼

Perhaps they were too wet?
@@bonsaiempire yes, maybe. Will try to water less during winter this time and see :) thanks!

You can style now, it is a good time as the trees are slowing down.

Yes this will remain small - mostly also because the trunk isn't very thick and it wouldn't look well if we'd go for a larger tree.
I noticed you waited 6 months to repot the tree. If you styled and repotted the tree all at once, what is the tree's likelihood of survival?

Can any bush or tree be made into a bonsai?
Pretty much, yes!
terimakasih... salam kenal
I need more trees to work on... and a bigger yard.
How much did you pay for this juniper in a bonsai nursery? Can't find these around me :(
And thanks for the video, as usual!
Im not sure, around 50 USD or a bit more.
