I've actually found there is a significant "break in period" with the HOKA Speedgoat 6....like after about the first 15-20 running miles it then feels less "stiff"/responsive and more like the "softer" midsole cushion of the 5. Different upper though for sure.
Still dream about the EVO speedgoats I had
Love the Hoka Mach 6. It’s a light and springy shoe that handles many different types of runs well.
Pleasant surprise seeing you out there!
Logan what part of STL?
Seth I heard a shoutout referencing your name today where you are talking about floating up the mountain and giving in to the run in a speech given at the SEEK24 conference. Very good video (10 Tips to Live in Peace at All Times); worth the listen. Good on you!
Still wearing these old shorts😅, love it
Last Hoka purchase was the Speedgoat 5s - loving them still 👍🏼👍🏼
Great work on the beautiful Mount Bierstadt brother! 140 miles for the week? BEAST!!!!!
I still run in my EVO Speedgoat. Love it
Great run
Right on man! Get that vert!
This year I’ve picked up the Mach 6, I love them so much. Before that the Tecton X were the ones, so much so I grabbed a pair of X2 (now on discount, yay!)
I'm close to 400 miles in the Mach Xs and plan on buying another pair! DGR STRONG!!!!!
Speedgoat 5s! My first trailshoe. Love it so far👌
Thanks 🙏 Seth
I’m still running in the Hoka mach 5 wide width. Love them.
QOD - Hoka Challenger 7, awesome road to trail shoe. So comfortable. Running rocky trails in Australia.
Nice truck!
I'm just now getting around to the Mach 5s. Wow, was I missing out! Might be the best all around running shoe I've ever ran in.
Hey Logan and Julia Caleb here from STL. Yes, ENJOY!!!
Hoka Mach 4 I enjoyed them a little but for my narrow foot they hurt my toes a bit. I now dabble in Altra and love the Olympus Trail.
Just got the Mach 6’s and really have been enjoying them.
Mach suprised me, very fun shoe to run in. Lets see how durable they will be
Stinson 7 but may have to trade it in for the SG 6 , like the narrow feel. great vlog, beautiful
Good to see you, Seth! Speedgoats don’t work for me despite their vast popularity. Looking forward to the Tecton X 3. Enjoying the LaSportiva Prodigio, Merrell Agility Peak 5, and the Arc’teryx Sylan Pro this summer up in the High Country.
Seth, you're still holding on to those ripped shorts of yours, aren't you?! 🤪😆🤘🏼
Such a shame. I really loved the SG5. I use the Clifton 9 as daily trainer and love them. I will need to look for another comfy trail shoe now. Thanks for the video!
Mach 6 is my last Hoka purchase! Speedgoat 5 is my all time fave running shoe.
Last Hoka for me was the Mach X. There was quite a bit of division with the shoe being that it wasn’t very clear where it fit in their lineup. As for myself, I found it to be one of the best “do it all shoes”. It helped push me to beat my previous 50k best by an hour!
Love my Hoka's. Actually just bought another pair of Speedgoat 5's yesterday as I left my other pair at the most recent Spartan race. Also bought the Arahi 7 to replace the 6 I put 440 miles on them. My Speedgoats had 300 miles on them and were in a position to be replaced anyway, so I guess it worked out, ha.
40k in. The midsole doesnt soften up. They overcorrected and went right past the moon. I want another Speedgoat EVO man.
Q O D The last Hoka I bought is a pair of last season's Zinal 2, got em at a good deal from Scheels. Just took them up on the barr trail for an 8 mi threshold Thursday workout. Love them! light, and grippy. only worn them twice, think their next run may be BTMR in 3 weeks and 3 days! ( Goal sub 2:10 ) last year I ran PPM in tecton X2
May have crossed paths this morning on the Barr trail 👍🏻
See u at BTMR 🎉
I've gone through 3 pairs of the Mach4s and picked up the Mach 5s but have noticed some arch cramping/ strain in my left foot when I wear them - had zero issues with the 4s!
My Mach 4’s are my favorite…. Tried the Mach 5’s, and had 2 painful runs wearing them…. No pain with the machine 4’s…. Maybe that’s why they went on sale quickly….. That’s how I bought mine. Lesson learned
The last pair of Hoka I bought was the SG5's and now they are used for hiking. They're more affordable shoes to compete with Hoka. Hopefully their parent company will make another Military Boot. Stay Safe DGR FAMILY
Just got the Speedgoat 5 since they were on for $50 off on Hoka's site seem good so far. but not a lot of miles on them yet . I do love my Stinson 7's for trail running also.
Tecton X 1.., it was on sale.., the green one. I am still running in it to this day. its a good shoe, for me
QD Mach 4. Awesome shoe
Qod. Last hoka I bought is sg5. Picked up a pair on discount. So far I’m enjoying them
Arahi 7s, although I was tempted to get the Speedgoat, but I have a pair of Speedgoat 5s that are still serviceable. I had to cut the tongue on those 5s because it uncomfortably dug into the front of my ankle. I wish they had kept the shallow V shaped tongue that was in the 4s.
QD: Clifton 3. I tried the 4s when the design changed, didn’t like them and never went back. I miss the old designs of the Clifton 1-3, those were my favorite shoes.
Loving my Speedgoat 5s. Of all the trail shoes that fit my narrow feet well, they are the only ones that also provide stability for my sprain-prone ankles. I wish more shoemakers would understand that thinner feet usually means thinner ankles! The only real downside is that the 5s do seem to wear out quickly. 200 miles of running/hiking on steep, rocky desert trails and I’m starting to think about a new pair. Hokas’ color choices on the 6 probably count as a downside, too.
Hoka Mach 5, my third ones 👌
Clifton 9 - good shoe, hard for me to get up and go in them but a great bopper/steazy shoe.
Last Hoka I purchased was Speedgoat 5 🎉
Have aa pair of 3s that work great but aging out so bought pr 5s on closeout couple weeks ago. Tooooo narrow - gave em to my great nephew. The 6s sound narrow too so bought challenger atr 7.
QoD - Kiwana 5, on sale, pretty solid daily trainer.
Mach 5s were my last hoka purchase and I love them. What were the best iteration of the speedgoats in your opinion?
Mach 6 .. started feeling narrow in the beginning but loosened up after a few runs
Just bought the Hoka Mach 6 and ran a fast time out of the box...maybe not the most stable but a great light feel...
speeeeeedgoats!
Skyward x man this is a fun fun shoe. Bounce along for miles :)
QOD: this is gonna sound a little strange but my last and only Hoka shoes are the slides (Ora 3). They are a little more firm than some other brands of recovery slides but add that little bit more support throughout the day. I literally can’t go anywhere without them.
Nice truck…. Life is good. I’ve heard the SG 6 are not much to write home about!🤔
Stinsion Atr 7 and its the best with a wide toe box
I like my Speedgoats, but they seem to break down more quickly than my Hoka Challenger. Qd, my last purchase was the Speedgoat. I've run in Challengers and Cliftons for a long time.
QOD : Speedgoat 5 about 75% off at REI. No idea why other than a color way they didn't seem to show online
I’ve tried on Hoka’s over my 30 1/2 years of running, have never purchased any however. The fit always seemed off.
Hold the phone... When did you get a truck? Beautiful morning for a trail run!!!
Is that a new 🚚
Purchased the Hoka Speedgoat 4's. Wore them for less than 200 miles before retiring them. Very disappointed in them. Also had a pair of Hoka Clifton 8's. Less than 200 miles on them before I gave up and now they're sitting in the back of my closet collecting dust. No more Hokas for me.
Cielo X1! Love them! Also have the Skyward X and Mach 6! Hoka is on fire!
I bought Challenger 7, coz i need hybrid shoe for road and trail..
Look who’s making a comeback
QOD: Last pair of Hook's was the Clifton 9, closing in on 500 miles on that shoe. May have to pick up a pair on clearance before the 10's come out.
The EVO was the king of the mountains. Someone tell me why it left and never returned.
20… First! 😝 Hoka and the ways of color!
QD: just purchased a Hoka Cielo Road. I use it as my speed session shoes and 5k race day shoe.
Beautiful shoe. Enjoy
Can a company please send Seth some new shorts. Bro??
Mach 6 last Hoka I purchased, absolutely love it
Please can you stop using the drone while driving too
Tecton X2, returned them….didn’t like the midsole. My fav was Torrent 2, even tho the midsole sunsets at 150 miles or so.
clifton 9!!
Too bad it's narrow. I'll stick with the Mafate 4 which as far as I know is noticeably wider in the toexbox.
and your still wearing those shorts! Hahaha!
Why not?? The shorts costed money he is not a bank printing money if there is nothing wrong with them use them and screw everyone else
@@antoniozerkhfaoui1918😂 there are some limits, shorts aren’t that expensive!
these shorts are special with built in cloths lines to hang your wet socks to dry after run. 😎😂
@@antoniozerkhfaoui1918, the truck?
I wear Bondis for work
I wear Cliftons for walking and running
Honestly I miss the shoedio
That last two pairs of Hokas that I bought were the Speedgoat 5 in the gray color in wide. I won't buy the 6 until they produce a decent (grey) color.
***Meltzer: "Melt-zer"
Hold Mach 4 in a boring black colorway😂
Never got to buy any Hoka... The colors are too ugly! 😂
Hoka always overcorrect every generation and mess something up.
EVA outdated and their uppers stretch and the toebox is too tapered.
That was pretty useless. If you're not going to review a shield, don't pist it it as if you are. Lors of pretty mountain shots and nice trail pics but seriously, I'm out.
Hoka Tectron…. gotta say, really dig the Hoka road shoes more than their trail shoes…I wish they’d come out with a narrower profile trail shoe
Thanks! still need to run Bierstadt with Dewa! maybe see you at Kendall Mountain ? We’re doing the Double…🙏🏾
hello everyone
