Wonderful video. My 21 month old is still breastfed, eats real food and has never been left to cry it out. She was an early talker and everyone is amazed at how clever and alert she is. I have actually been criticised by some for not allowing her junk food but I figure she has all her years ahead to eat that if she wants but I will give her the best start whilst I can at this age, and so far it’s paying off. It’s a short time of dedication in the grand scheme of things and it’s so worth it.

Sravani Kanchanapally23 hi I hope your little one is doing well, have tried different sceneries like outdoor things and let them meet new people and smiling faces. At that age they get bored very fast

This is so true, thanks for sharing. My son is three eats everything, and loves veggies and fruits. The first foods I gave him at six months was AVOCADOS, sweet potatoes bananas other steam veggies and everything else slowly. I never gave him cereal or processed food, from a can or gerbers. NO processed juice, I still don’t buy it, only special occasions like parties or when we travel and use it as a treat for good behavior.
In my humble opinion I do suggest to make your own fresh juice and foods besides it is cheaper. For babies mashed or blend real foods and you’ll thank yourself later. Once they’re older chopping and preparing foods may require a little work and extra time but is totally worth it. I work full time, do ministry and learned to manage time so I can continue to prepare foods for my family everyday, I think we can all do it.
Exposing my son to real food as a baby I always thought that was the reason why he loves to eat but now that I watch this video truly confirms my suspicion. One more thing I noticed is that he is only been sick with minor colds three times since birth (Thank God). So if you’re a new mommy, follow the advice from this video and built a healthy eater. Kiss them, hug them tight non stop and take them outside to explore. Blessings 👍🏼

This is the most funny video I've ever watched. It's all a matter of using your brain. I had 5 beautiful healthy, to this day. They are all grown now, and of course super healthy. I always started them out on cereal, just a bit. It was, as all there other foods were, all natural! They loved there fruit, veggies, everything they were given growing up. One thing babies and kids don't ever need are ant type of vitamins. My baby doc would always tell me they are all super healthy. My husband and I don't even eat processed food of any kind. As far as kids getting sick, they need to get cols etc. so they can fight off even more serious bad things going around out there. We had such a good laugh watching this. My parents are doctors as well. All it takes to feed your child is common sense, come on now. Go writs more books doc. Wow! crazy

Dr Sears is so fantastic and warm and knowledgable. I love his style of imparting his benefits of knowledge and experience. You get the sense that he really does care and that to me means so much. I wish all Doctors were like that. Thanks so much for interviewing him. I didn’t even realise I was doing attachment parenting until just now. I was just following my instincts. Sometimes little doubts start to creep in when you are surrounded by people who want to comment about the madness of ‘still’ breastfeeding my 13 month old, or say I’m spoiling my baby when I respond to my baby’s cries, co-sleep and refuse to let him cry it out! I learnt so so much from this segment and am definitely going to continue raising my baby the attachment parenting way. Who knew the brain was so fatty.!? Avocado and salmon are finding their way onto our plates tomorrow night :)

This is so true! So many people are weirded out by breastfeeding I get comments from my own family sometimes about why I’m still breastfeeding my 10 month old. I just wish we’d encourage one another and respect how we raise our babies.

i am exactly the same i was freaking out if iam spoiling my baby by co sleep breastfeed and respond to cry and others in thier room forcing not to have milk at night iam not saying there is right or wrong but at least that iam not doing something wrong or behind my baby is 6 so when she is 7 months i will surely start with Salmon. xx

Hi Tee Smith...what is your take on breastfeeding...I also have a 13 month old who screams if I offer him water instead of milk in the night. How long we shall breastfeed our baby. And won't he develop this as habit .. How will I wean him off. ? Plz help. I stay very worried and it makes me very stressed.

He is talking about the stuff we traditionally fed babies. Additionally we give coconut milk in food and pumpkin and stuff too. Lot of crushed greens.

First food is cooked egg yolks and organic liver. Best book on nutrition is sally Fallon nourishing traditions. Fruits and veggies are devoid of natural fats and deep nutrition. Animal products are priority until 2-3 years old. Kids normally don’t like veggies since they are difficult to digest.

I am just reading hold on to your kids by gabbor matte and it also talks about child parent attachment. Very good! I am so depressed listening to child weaning and importance of good foods because I struggled for three years to get my breastfed son to even try foods. He wouldn’t accept anything in his mouth. I think it had to do with giving him breast milk from a medicine spoon because the milk couldn’t come out for a long time so had to express and give little by little. Because also he didn’t accept bottle at all. It caused me so much pain and trauma let alone how much to him. When i expressed it was always on 10 - 20 ml then became 30- 50 ml. It was never enough at one time. So he was one of those babies who woke and drank every hour. I felt like he never slept and was always hungry. After taking supplements and he started drinking from me again it became better and neither of us wanted to stop breastfeeding. I tried so hard to give him all kids of foods. Since 6 months old but he refused anything on a spoon. I thought this would never end. Up to the age of two mealtimes had me in a panic and sometimes tears or anger. It almost never ended with him eating buy instead spitting, throwing, gagging, and crying. Then i stopped breastfeeding due to mastitis and infection and he saw me in pain and didn’t even ask to drink after the third day. And just before the age of 3 he started eating by himself. I felt so relieved but these will be regrets i will always carry with me.

    • @IngeniousBaby

So true! You need to "train" their tastebuds! Its always so frustrating to see those "kid" menus that further promote such unhealthy foods for babies!

This video was wonderful. My babies are both grown now but I guess it’s never to late to learn new things for many reasons. Hint hint...hopefully a grand baby one day.
I’d like to ask a question. Being an adult (46 years) female, can you give me a few examples of a good supplement to take for heart, brain, eyesight, etc. And what is a probiotic for? I’m trying to lose the weight I’ve gained over the past year. So I don’t want to lack any vitamins trying to diet. Thanks.

    • @IngeniousBaby

Not all salmon is created equal! It is best to have wild-caught salmon if possible. www.vitalchoice.com has "safe" levels of salmon if you can get it.

Meh, it's all holistic hocus pocus. Feeding your kids organic all natural baby food and what not isn't gonna make them smarter. Genetics has everything to do with how smart you will be. Experience has everything to do with what you will do with your life. You can't make a baby smart, but you can raise it, teach it valuable life lessons and help it as it grows. A healthy diet leads to a healthy baby...but it doesn't make them smarter. The best thing you can do for your baby is give them love and attention. If that means feeding them jarred baby food in order to play with them, then that's what's best for baby.
