The crafting right now is mostly random, there are some things in the end game that help it be more deterministic. In POE 1 we had much more elaborate crafting, but it always still has an element of chance. POE 1 doesn't "feel good" early on because the base cast and attack speeds are just too low. It starts feeling better halfway through the campaign, but it really takes like 100 hours before you really think: wow this game is amazing.
Im really happy to see you covering this, its an amazing 10/10 game and im about 48 hours in. Im playing the same class as you. The loot is just fine for me. Id love to see you do more content on this in the future.
I am happy for you, but the problem is most arpg fans don't like this punishing of a campaign. I don't mean that in a mean way, either. I'm legit happy for people like you, but people like me feel disappointed and discouraged to try several different builds season after season year after year. This is more like Elden Ring, which was great but so difficult that the thought of several playthroughs is overwhelming. Hopefully, they will add difficulty levels or make some sort of changes to help make the slog easier.
@tonyfabiano3053 yeah that's why I was saying the fact that I live poe but didn't care for poe 1 I'm not sure if it's a good thing. GGG luckily is not stopping support for poe 1 so players get to pick what they like but yeah I'll admit it's an I teresting situation.
The issue I'm having is in the Chaos trials my game is crashing when I get to the boss in round 4. So ive made about 3 attempts that i have actually fought the boss 😅 other than that I'm loving the game overall.
I think I'm one of the luckiest people in this game. I literally have NUMEROUS armor pieces that I can swap out depending on my situation and I've used a ton of currency items. I got so many regal orbs already and I'm in chapter 2.
I think you basically let the cat out of the bag in the first 6 minutes - you havent played endgame last epoch, you havent played POE1. You havent played endgame poe2...... Sooooo..... you still dont even have the game experience (of poe2 or other arpgs in recent history) to really make much of an opinnion about whether this is a good arp or not.... Just had to say it. Its great that youre enjoying it though. Its just that, you will realize (however long that takes you) the serious flaws of poe2 design when you get to endgame and play it long enough. Endgame is what arpgs are about. Campaign is the tutorial. poe2 campaign is by far one of the best ever made (already!), but its still the tutorial...
Followed you for SoC content, don't care about Girl's Frontline. Noticed you back when Unicorn Overlord came out. Anyway, dropped about 30 hours in PoE2 and I'm just not happy with the game. The "difficulty" isn't so much what gets me, it's the loot. All this time dropped into the game, and I've yet to craft/find any gear I'm "proud" of. I've played aRPG's before. I know what I'm doing when it comes to crafting, but part of the fun of aRPG's is the loot fantasy. Right now, it's like working a 9-5 job and getting minimum wage. I can beat the content, but the juice ain't worth the squeeze. I just find nothing all the time and I pick up everything since loot is so rare. I want to go back to having the need for a loot filter, then I know I found something good. Even when I dismantle/salvage stuff, I get almost nothing. Think another issue is the constant rebalancing. I understand some builds can be too broken, but if they nerf that, people should be able to respec for free. Bricking someone's character and then forcing them to commit another day's worth of playing to get back to where they were is absolutely unfair and a hard quit angle. For me personally, I play warrior and absolutely hate it. I play Lost Ark at the endgame and SmileGate understands the warrior fantasy way better. You just get punished for playing melee in PoE2 The auto attack is the best part of the kit, leveling skills is basically pointless. You're forced to build survivability and still get killed easily. You're also forced to use the dodge roll which is fine for certain patterns, but if I wanted to spam dodge roll, I wouldn't have picked warrior as my class. I think I had it when I did trials. My animations are slow and I'm forced to play close. Getting hit and losing honor is so dumb for melee. I need to trade hits. If I'm scared to get hit, then what's the point. Hawg/Kripp were right. Game is basically ruthless league. The skeleton of the game is fun: combat is fun for the most part and animations are nice. However, the game is just too annoying to play in its current state. People loving the game are still in the first half of the campaign. They might finish the campaign, but won't pick up another character. I understand it's an early access game and is subject to change, but I'm going back to Last Epoch.

11:30 yeah witch is bit overpowered ATM. You can go through most boss fights without learning the boss mechanics.

@rabbyd542 that is lucky but also I think the experiance they want people to have.
My idea of fun in Magic is just playing a land and keeping a lot of blue mana untapped and then saying go.
You're a horrible person. SIncerely a Jund/Gruul player.
Yea try playing warrior lol

I can't imagine how God awful it is to beat a trial with melee.
