- Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) and Dan Crenshaw (TX-02) hosted a press conference recognizing progress with a provision in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that directs the Secretary of Defense to conduct a clinical report on psychedelic treatment in military treatment facilities. Initial medical research shows promising results for the use of psychedelics in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). In past years, both Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Crenshaw have separately introduced amendments to the NDAA to allow for the medical study of psychedelics. This year, a version of their amendment language was included in the original bill text for the NDAA. The NDAA, along with the psychedelics provision, is expected to pass the House on Friday. At the press conference, Reps. Ocasio-Cortez and Crenshaw were joined by Rep. Lou Correa, Co-Chair of the Congressional Psychedelics Advancing Clinical Treatments “PACT” Caucus.

What I love most about Rep AOC is she's a regular person who just wanted to get involved. I would never have that kind of courage and commitment. I'd like to think I would, but have to be honest. I wish we could all step up like this, if not in government, then somewhere where we're needed. I find her to be very inspirational.
Plus she’s very intelligent. She invokes the ire of lesser officials because that’s what stupid people do… They have ire.
AOC is a regular person as far as not coming from money and being Puerto Rican. But she’s super talented and well-educated. Her constituents are well-served by such a capable congresswoman, in contrast to the literal cretins elected to represent red states and counties.
Being a fraud to millions does not take courage, it takes a felonious mind. AOC, Alexandra Rojas, Bernie Sanders, the Justice Democrats, and TYT are all frauds. They lie like they are real progressives everyday to get people to vote for the donor owned Democratic Party. That takes a very deceitful felon. It has nothing to do with integrity and honor. It has everything to do with greed and fraud. AOC fakes her false Progressivism everyday to get more money for her donor owners at the Democratic Party. The GOP, Democratic, and Libertarian parties are donor owned. If we can not stop voting for these donor owned parties, we will fast track to the dumpster of failed nations.
She cares about people and I love the bipartisanship,Decriminalize Cannabis the bill is in the senate and for the VA to prescribe it,it’s been in pill form for 50+ years at least. Alcohol is worse

This is great! I've used different psychedelics in the past and psilocybin has been a natural "mental cleanser" for me. I'm not a drug addict, but I can fully understand how mushrooms would serve PTSD patients very well. Thank you for being a solid politician and working for us!

This is fantastic, as a vet I lucked out and do no deal with PTSD or side effects but for those who do this life changing! It's great to see both sides coming together for the greater good of our citizens. No games, no slights, nothing just doing what needs to be done. Amazing keep it up AOC!
Clinical trials dot gov. Based on what your say here you could contribute to the science, because you weren't affected by PTSD. As important as data from those who are.

Speaking about ibogaine, that drug I studied in college. We have been making people suffer needlessly for over 30 years! I applaud these changes. It's a huge tool in the toolbox. Add BAUD with a really good health care provider/professional, and we could move mountains! I am also of the opinion that there is so much more PTSD in our culture than you would imagine. Whatever the number is that is reported is likely only the tip of the iceberg. I would love to know what we all would do if everyone actually had healthcare. Imagine what we could accomplish...😮
I love and appreciate how AOC goes from one committee hearing meeting holding accountable oil and gas executives for chemical and financial attacks on native peoples and for destroying and poisoning or planet and animals. Then turning around and having a bipartisan agreement/press conference on how to utilize our planet to the benefit of humankind! You are truly a blessing keep up the, amazing work and thank you. Legalize, tax and regulate most substances. Decriminalize the worst. Have therapy/rehab facilities to get people off hard drugs. Educate people about the potential risks of taking drugs.

Psychedelics are great, one time I was trippin on too much acid and I was staring at a fire pit and the fire pit turned into a mini world with little people and buildings, that was 2 years ago and it's such an experience to remember. would love to try out the psilocybin mushrooms next, just don't know where to get them, so hard to come by

Ive tried many different traditional antidepressants and all that over the years and couldnt ever get past the funky side effects, i occasionally take mushrooms and dmt and i always feel so kuch more clear after its almost like a reset for me personally, i think ketamine is great too but unfortunately tgats like 500 buck per session not so practical for an average person so very excited about all this...
Esketamine has a discount program if you qualify. Also look into local hospitals who may offer treatment programs… some insurances cover it too 🙂

I love how different political parties CAN GET ALONG. I think this is so important: to work together and get things done for the country; in this situation, to help the veterans who, in my opinion, deserve government support. This is what our tax dollars should go towards. We shouldn't have to pay our elective officials having tantrums and petty, immature comments in congressional hearing rooms. Instead, pay them for getting things actually done. Well done!

You’re not my state rep but I need psilocybin treatment badly. Signed up for trial study notification nationwide; it’s not a reliable way at all to get help and most of them are just phishing for personal info. I’ve had suicidal depression my whole life. I have ptsd and intense anxiety. All the time. No therapies or treatments or meds have worked. Micro dosed shrooms for a few days, felt like a new person for a whole month. Only month in my whole life where I didn’t struggle daily w horrors and thoughts of suicide. Please help me legally make it in to a study in my state.
