Quick disclaimer: with a package named "ntfs-3g", you can write on NTFS partitions on Linux. But it is true that linux can't write on this filesystem without it, probably due to licensing

got a drive and copied my drive to it. It shows that 2 TB has been used, which is correct, but when I open the drive all the folders are empty. If I highlight everything it copied and put properties, only 56GB of data is on the drive but if I select the drive and put properties it says 2TB has been used. Where is all the other data and why are all the folders in the drive empty?

Thank you so much man for the beautiful video :-)
Just one thing to add please, if you gonna use your removable drive e.g. SD or Micro SD card for a camera or a dash cam, it is highly recommended to format it through the device itself that it will be most used for (even if you gonna connect it to your laptop or desktop sometimes) this enhances its speed & durability a lot, and despite FAT32 is the oldest, most of the most recent devices (cams....etc) prefer only FAT32 & won't allow you to do any other format through the device, & really I don't know why?!.
Again thank you so much man for your beautiful videos :-)

Thus if you have an empty external hard drive that you want to use with your Android phone or tablet, you will need to format the drive with a FAT32 or EXT4. If you have data in it back it up first before formatting it.

@@tristanjayvirtudazo2268 hmmm.. if your inserting this drive into a Windows environment to prep it up for a Android environment you should be able to format it as a FAT32 giving you a file size limitation of 4GBs. EXT4 is normally within a Linux OS, but can done with third-party utilities (I don't have any to recommend). The command prompt command is Format /FS:FAT32 D: (D: should be the drive's letter) but within Windows you should be able to pick FAT32. Hope this help. Best of luck.
