The way I see it is it's bad if I'm actively trying not to look at parts because I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable. Of course it's the artists choice and different people get uncomfortable because of different things, but this MV shows you can be a sexy empowered goddess without being overtly sexually provocative.
I think the main difference is others try to appeal to the males (for the money) objectifying the girls like a pervert and they become nothing but an object (like having weird angles showing cleavage, butt-cheeks and whatnot), in Mamamoo's case their sexy is classy which is rarely displayed in music industry, Mamamoo own their sexuality, even if they show skin, their sexiness is empowering not objectifying

Agree 100%. Mamamoo transcends idol-dom and that's clearly been their intent ever since they started appearing on Immortal Songs 2. Imo Paint Me was a final announcement that they're going to do their music their way rather than work within standard kpop concepts. Paint Me was not a normal ballad and Egotistic isn't just another latin kpop song or summer dance track. I haven't analyzed Egotistic musically but it doesn't seem to fit the standard verse & chorus pop song formula. Both songs seem to be constructed as a series of waves, one gentle, the other crashing on the sand & rocks. An odd comparison perhaps but they're odd songs. Here's another way to put it: if the typical pop song is like quickie sex then Paint Me and Egotistic are like multi-orgasmic sex on the beach.
Sexy concept usually means the dance features booty shaking, pelvis grinding and lots of in your face, lowest common denominator legs, tits & ass. Egotistic shows four mature women in charge of their lives, relationships and sexuality. Their sexiness is not cheap, easy or skin-deep - it burns with the heat & fire of passionate sensuality.

In general I really appreciate when female artists/idols exemplify charisma and confidence in their sexuality in any form because in Korea it's so frowned on and the more normalized it becomes to be confident the more every day women can express themselves how they want without negative backlash so I love the trend I'm seeing lately and I hope in continues as long as it's the artists choice of expression and not the label forcing it on them.

This is an empowering sexy. All of them showed so much improvement (not that they needed it) since Starry Night. Confidence has always been their strengths. It's not "Look at me I'm sexy", Instead it's "I know I'm sexy, try to keep up" kind of vibes (BUT YA KNO I CANT). also, we see that this year they are obviously expanding their audiences outside of Korea.

Mamamoo has been upping their game with every comeback. When i was first introduced to mamamoo they instantly caught my attention due to their powerful vocals and stage charisma(debut era). As i got into them i was afraid that they'd be one of those talented groups that the public would sleep on (like many out there). I know I did, and the first group I watched that really caught my attention was bts, and I do listen to other groups but when I listen to mamamoo and bts it's more like you said "Artist" they were amazing, and I loved your your reaction and hearing your thoughts on this! I do see them doing good on charts. I first listened to their starry night, and I loved them. Queens slayed and I love your input on what sexiness is.

I accept your opinion on sexiness and stuff, as long as you also understand there's nothing wrong with actually showing your skin as a way to be sexy. I'm latina so that's kind of part of my culture, which is way different than yours and I understand that, but it's thinking like that that lead people to call women sluts when they're just expressing themselves the way they want to (meanwhile, men do whatever they want and it's ok).

There is nothing wrong with showing skin if you own it and do it for yourself, like Mamamoo here they do show skin but they own their sexuality that is why their sexiness is classy, and empowering,...
I think what he is saying is showing skin doesn't necessarily correlate with sexiness, especially if it is done in an objectifying way (there is fine line between sexiness and vulgar that why it is hard to explain in words)
KuKu but that's my point, that line is different depending on where you're from and your cultural background. I'm just saying this because my country (brazil) is always seen in a bad light, specially among koreans, when it comes to this. I see it when they react to music from here, and while there are a few videos here that are indeed vulgar even for us, some that he's thought was "too much" were normal in our view. But like I said, there's nothing wrong with the way you see it as long as you don't judge others for the way they see it.
