it must be incredibly satisfying to find something like this rotting in the mud and bring it back to life. Then with a little work, and knowledge, get it back rolling down the road. Not only just doing it, but doing it safely.
    You are THE MAN!!!

Yep. I grew up never throwing anything away. My Grandpa was in WW1, and his sons in WW2. When I was a kid he gave me a Russian stamped wrench he picked up on a battlefield in France. It was called a Bicycle Wrench. Every cutout matched a nut on a bicycle, but also worked on the artillery he towed with the mule team he cared for. I still have it. When it was new the edges were shap and hurt your hand. They've been rounded by time and being handled. I've used it to cut off water to our house (and others) when a pipe burst, etc. I'll be 60 this year and I have weird tools from when I was single digit age.

2jeffs1 Also remember though some of the stuff that they made later in years like through the 80s was not built as well either So you had to constantly swap parts and hopefully throw it away. That’s why they designed them like that with that sought in mine and it was more lightweight and easier to work on I’m referring to trucks and cars mainly and Riding mowers

Mustie, just 1 more thing I want 2 say. 2018 was a tough year 4 Me. In and out of Moffitt cancer Center in Tampa. Ben a rough road. And no, I do not need sympathy. Loved the Formula Vee mode; the old girl really picks up her skirts for having a well used motor hung out back. Your resurrection of that old single port brought back a lot of memories. I worked my way through college repairing and rebuilding air-cooled Beetles and first generation runaway Rabbit diesels. The guys at the shop referred to me as "Mr. Badwrench" not so much for my skills as a mechanic but for the endless string of creative expletives I'd yell out as I barked the skin off another knuckle. Thanks for the trip down memory lane sans the swearing of oaths.

A mustie1 video is a reminder of how things have changed. Flooding back to me are the reminders of what everything was like. Carbies, points & relays. No wonder every second weekend was spent with my legs sticking out of something somewhere.

Thanks Mustie1 for giving me the encouragement to tackle the rust in a MGB in my shed.

When my grandfather died in Texas in about 1983, I traveled from Iowa to there with my uncle in his similar Karmen Ghia. There was a problem restarting when hot (electrical), so I had to push the car into motion so he could pop the clutch and get it running. I could barely get it moving, the rolling resistance was so high. I was therefore amazed that it got 33 mpg. It was a trip the memories of which I will always treasure, the car problems being part of them.

Dang Mustie, I could use you in my life. I've got lots of projects, big and small, and moderate knowledge. I've learned a lot from your channel and I appreciate the time you and effort you put into your videos.

Hi Mustie, I’m really enjoying your video clips. They took me way back to the early 70’s when we had a six volt bug and no fuel gauge...when the engine started to splutter, you flipped the lever on the dashboard over to the spare tank....had enough of that though pretty soon and fitted a fuel gauge!

65 the brake lights only worked with the key on. A lot of people would wire them direct.

Man, those people were so calm while you were speeding right past them lol.
When you turned back and smiled at the camera, that was like me when I took the first drive in my S10 last year. I had my 87 S10 sitting for 6 years, drug it home, rebuilt a lot of things, and man when I took it on that first test drive, that was amazing.
